They do cut a lot of children’s hair, so it boggles the mind how there’s always something very inappropriate on the TV. Well, I shouldn’t say always, but every single time I’ve been there. Why? So one barber who isn’t cutting hair can watch it, while we sit there waiting for an available barber? The good is that they’re close by and open 7 days per week. So, if you’re in a jam its always an option. The bad(apart from«entertainment» choices) is that the quality of work is hit or miss. My boys have gotten good cuts there, but they’ve also gotten bad cuts there. Last time, my eldest left with a jacked up hair cut that I had to fix at home.(If you don’t know how to do a scissor cut, don’t pretend.) My youngest left with a screwy lining. There ARE people at this shop who cut hair well enough, just not everyone. As for customer service… don’t expect too much.

It can be expensive, but if you need a haircut its usually always open. I really don’t like that you have to street park. I went to get my haircut before work the other day and I got a parking ticket. As a last resort its a great place, but not my first choice.

I will never ever go back to this place… It is run by a bunch of losers who don’t know a thing about customer satisfaction… Waited 1 hour with 4 chairs open. Left without a cut apparently not all barbers want to cut hair… I couldnt stand watching barbers not cutting hair with paying customer waiting.

Pros: plenty of room to sit and wait incase it’s really busy. Lots to be entertained by. TV blasting loud reggaeton music. Some barbers have real colorful personalities and joke with each other. Plenty of barbers in general. Got my fade by probably the nicest dude in the place. Open on Thanksgiving! Cons: $ 15 for a basic fade and lineup. I could get just as good of a haircut for $ 12 or even $ 10 at another place. They don’t acknowledge people as they walk in the door. I don’t expect tons of hospitality but at least throw me a «sup bro». Teach these punks some manners. And you get that feeling of «I know I was here before that guy but he got to go before me.» Street parking is not my favorite. I’m greatful they were open on Thanksgiving but that’s about what this place is to me: a last resort.

Yay! I finally found a place close to home where I can take my son for a good haircut. I’ve been here a couple of times and I usually go during the week. I don’t think I’ve ever had to wait. I love the way it’s set up. The chairs are all lined up in a row on each side. Each barber gets their own chair and some have personalized the mirrors with their phone #s, quotes, or whatever. They also play some great music or have a hit movie on while you wait. I usually look around for a DJ because I get the feeling that I’m in a club when I’m in there.

I stumbled upon Ace of Fades some years ago maybe about a month after it opened. I’m originally from Humboldt Park and was getting a bit tired of making the trip out there for a cut so I gave this joint a shot. I’ve been coming back ever since. Theres about 10 barbers, a female stylist and a braider. I usually go on weekends so it’s always somewhat busy but with so many barbers the wait isn’t usually long. Setting an appointment is always ideal but as I said walk ins don’t wait too long. All the barbers have some skill too so you can’t go wrong with either one. It’s a good joint!
