I’ll keep this short: Jack’s focuses on customer service which means you can rely on them to help you out. I actually used them as a party rental(tables and chairs) service and they’re great. I’m not sure if they have«fancy» rental supplies(e.g. for a wedding, graduation), but I just needed something utilitarian for a cookout. They were able to fit me into a busy delivery schedule relatively last-minute and at a competitive price.

I brought my snowblower to Jack’s for service. It was running fine, and only needed a couple of things — shear pins replaced, thrower chute adjusted, and an oil change. I made the unfortunate mistake of telling them to «give it a look over» … Apparently if you say that, the flood gates open right up… When I called them to get my estimate they told me $ 550. Yes, that’s dollars not pesos. I could buy an entirely new and good snowblower for that amount. So I asked them to tell me exactly all the work that is in this estimate. I said tell me all the work, all the part numbers, and the labor costs. The guy responds, «Uh yeah. sure. hold on.(papers shuffling). um. ok … Well. Ya know it just needs a lot of little things. just ya know. a bunch of little things» So here’s how you translate that: «Your snowblower doesn’t need that much work, it’s only a few things and won’t take very long. I don’t really want to deal with it, but I will if I can gouge you for $ 550» Anyways, I ordered the parts and oil and did it myself. Total cost $ 42.69 … woulda been less but I ordered 2 extra packs of shear pins.

I didn’t rent a tool from them, but I did call them to rent a floor buffer. I was very pleased with the information they gave me and thus the reason for my review. They pretty much told me that the kind of work I was trying to do was not going to be effective with the buffer(cleaning greasy concreat floor). They suggest another tool and even told me when it would be the most effective. I love when I receive good advice from anyone and these guys know what they are talking about. Instead of talking me in to renting the tool, they gave me advice on how to do the job, which doesn’t require the buffer. That to me is just great customer service and definetly says a lot about this business.

DISCLAIMER: I did not actually wind up renting from Jack’s . I went to Jacks for party rental supplies at the recommendation of a friend who had used them before and was very pleased. I worked with Randy, who was very patient and attentive to my many bewildered phone calls.(I have never put on a big party before and was a bit intimidated.) In the end, Randy figured out that I need a very specific kind of tent to fit the demands of our back yard layout, which Jack’s does not carry. Randy passed all my info on to another company he works closely with that does carry this type of tent and ensured that I was well taken care of there. He still treated me like a customer and continued to help me, even though my business ultimately went somewhere else. I think that’s worth a lot. I absolutely got the sense that these guys know how to do good business and take good care of their customers. Also, their prices were comparable or better than the local competitors I compared them against.

I bought a snow blower from Home Depot and after 1 use it would not start anymore. I called Ariens and they gave me 2 numbers to call and said the manufacture will cover the cost for pick up an delivery after repair. I called the first store, they said they would not come out to get my snow blower and was very abrupt on the phone. Then I called Jacks. Talked to Mickey and explained what was going on. He told me to try a few things and put me down for pick up the following Monday. They dropped off the fixed snow blower hours before a big snow storm hit. Mike who delivered snow blower was very patient with me teaching me the proper steps to start and operate the snow blower. I’m extremely happy with this experience — it was frustrating having a 1-week old snow blower not working but Jacks really made me love my snow blower again! Thanks!

If you are looking for people who«know their stuff» look no further than Jacks. Case in point. I needed a new snowblower. I thought I would take the easy way out and head to my local Home Depot. But Home Depot for whatever stupid corporate reason(another review for another day) said that they would not deliver the snow blower to my house. They wanted me to somehow get the darn thing in my car which meant even if I could do that– I would have to unload it at this end. Not a good plan. And then I really would just be guessing as to how the thing worked. Enter Jack’s. Not only did they deliver the snowblower. They filled it with gas and oil. Placed it in my garage. Gave me a small tutorial on how to work the darn thing(very fancy compared to my old one) and will even come back and pick it up for its annual maintenance. First class service all the way. Jack’s knows the forgotten rule of retailers–«take care of the customer». They also rent tools and other small machinery and they have an huge assortment of tools and things if you need to buy a speciality or regular item. I should know better than to save a little time by going to the«big box» retailers. Jack– you have my heart. And my future business!

Trust me — this is NOT just a tool rental facility. There’s a full-blown tool store here as well. We’ve rented from Jack’s as well and had a great experience. I need to learn my lesson when I’m looking for a tool — and try here first. I much prefer to frequent a local business than a national chain if I can manage and afford to, and Jack’s deserves that. They rent a massive selection of tools from hand tools up to small forklifts! And the selection in the tool store is better than anywhere else around. This summer I needed a profiling tool so that we could duplicate some wood moulding in the house. I, of course, tried about six local and national stores before I realized — duh!!! — try Jacks. Sure enough, they had it. That’s when I learned my lesson — if I need a tool, any tool, try here first.
