Food was great and the service was friendly and polite. Enjoyed taco yo for a quick bite to eat and a cheaper option for mexican stop at the Yo!

I ordered the carne asada meal. The meat was super hard, almost like eating rubber bands. I will never go there again. Try Ino’s carne asada, way better and for the same price. I also asked for some spicy carrots and they charged $ 1.10 extra. You could get free carrots at Ino’s and other Mexican restaurants. Don’t waste your money here.

I ordered the veggie burrito and my friend ordered the enchiladas. The green sauce was WAY too spicy! And I like spice. The salsa is extremely spicy as well so beware.

The food is good. You don’t go to a strip mall and expect great food. The service is good also. Very friendly and knowledgable. The price is as expected.

I live a block away and this is my most convenient Mexican restaurant. This place is terrible customer service wise. Don’t trust the hours listed online, I’ve tried to eat at this place about 30 times and only got to eat there about 7. They close whenever they want and leave no warning on the door. One time I went there and there was employees inside and the door was locked. It was normal business hours around 5 employees were sitting inside ignoring me as I tried to pull on the door. They couldn’t have even glanced at me or have told me to come back later. Also take into account i usually go from around 4 — closing time. So maybe they’re better earlier in the day, but I refuse to continue going to such an inconsistent restaurant when there are so many other Mexican restaurants nearby. But in the end their food is okay at best, I can have better Mexican at home and their wait times are definitely longer than most places.

Not as bad as I though based on the other reviews! Tacos where lackluster but the prices where cheap and I would order again.

Horrible chicken taco I had. Whoever was cooking on this day needs to be relieved.

I tried the al pasteur tacos and they were okay. The corn tortillas they came in were on the greasy side, but not overly so. But it was hot and fresh, and had a good amount of onion and cilantro with some nice red and green hotsauce on the side. Decent flavor. It was good enough for me to give them another try next time I am down that way. There’s better, but for just a neighborhood place in a strip mall, it’s not bad(to me).

HORRIBLE. I got tacos de chile relleno and I puked them out as soon as I left. I couldn’t even finish eating them. They tasted absolutely foul… like they were using expired ingredients. The strawberry«milkshake» was literally strawberry NESQUIK and milk. Terrible…just terrible.

First time ever writing a review just so nobody else has to experience the greasiest, nastiest Mexican food I’ve ever tasted. Roller food at a gas station is far better than this place. Stay far away!!!

Don’t order delivery. We live two blocks away and it consistently takes them between 1.5 and 2 hours to get our food. If the food was amazing, I wouldn’t be writing this review… But with the huge Hispanic community in and around Berwyn, it’d be difficult NOT to find better Mexican food

Ugh. I should have trusted my instincts. I was craving the guacamole the other day(seriously, WHY does it have to be so good?!) and it was snowing so I didn’t want to get out and do pick up. So I ordered from GrubHub again. When my order was supposed to arrive, I called the store to make sure it had actually left. They said the driver had just left the store. So I sat and waited for 30MINUTES for the driver to get there with my food. Again, this restaurant is like 5 minutes from my house — max. Snow or no snow. So the food finally arrives. We sit down to eat. I open the bag and pull out my husband’s order of fried plantains that he ordered for dessert. They put it in the bag UPSIDEDOWN. Which meant chocolate sauce had leaked out all over the rest of our containers(read: all of our dinner). And because they are just clam shell styrofoam, there there was chocolate sauce in all of our mexican food. Not the best flavor combination — in case you were wondering. I called the store back(because GH customer service had 15 minute wait times), and the girl I talked to was so nice and understanding. She said she would have her manager call me when he got in — should be about 30 minutes she said. No one ever called me. Taco Yo, I’m done with you. You can keep your amazing guacamole, mediocre mexican food and TERRIBLE customer service to yourself.

I just visited the place in Wednesday evening. My friends and I had just left the Bulls earlier that night and wanted to get some food before our long drive home. After driving so slowly in the snow that was coming down hard, I saw the sign on the building saying they were open. We were in the mood for some Mexican. I ended up ordering a torta de Milanesa, while my friends ordered other items. I was impressed for 2 reasons. One: the waitress who helped us was so patient in taking our orders and such, especially because my friend were still drunk from the game. Two: it didn’t take long for us to get our food cooked and served. I loved what I picked. Maybe next time, if I’m ever in Berwyn again, I’ll keep this place in mind for a late night meal. I took a menu with so I know ahead of time what to order.

I’ve ordered a few times from here with delivery. And I only ordered a second time because I thought the first time was a mistake. There was over a 2 hour wait, the food was freezing and the food was terrible. I feel sorry for the poor old man who does the deliveries alone.

First and last time ordering from here. If you do, order at your own risk and check your food first. We called in our order for pick up. My wife ordered the chicken alambres(peppers instead of beans) for me and ordered chicken fajitas for herself, after confirming that the chicken fajitas came with black beans. We picked up our order and were EXTREMELY disappointed when we got home. My order was a mixed-meat alambras with beef, ham, and hotdogs, and a huge serving of refried beans. 1) I don’t eat beans, so even as I picked around the meat, there was still quite a bit buried under the mound of refried beans and 2) I wanted a leaner meat(fortunately, I hadn’t given up beef and pork for Lent as originally planned). My wife’s dinner was covered with refried beans as well, which she didn’t want. When we called, we were placed on hold several times(and for several minutes at a time). After I explained the issue, the person on the phone said they don’t have black beans. I explained that my wife specifically asked if her meal came with black beans(because the menu just says beans) and the person said yes. When I noted that we could not return to the restaurant that evening because we were already home and wanted to know what would be done to compensate, I was told that the person who took the order would call us back. That person did not call. I always try to be fair to folks and understand an off-night. I would have given the restaurant 2 stars if the food was good, but it was mediocre at best.

Looks like everyone Else is complaining about the same thing that I am going to be; their customer service! Rude and obnoxious. There are a ton of other places that serve good tacos, I don’t need to deal with this!!!

Worst customer service. I see after now reviewing the messages I’m not the only one that has had this issue. I ordered through GrubHub and my order was over an hour late. I called and due to bad reception I called a few times. The girl at the counter calls me back to tell me to stop calling. I decided to go to restaurant to speak with Manager, all she did is give me Jesus name. Not an apology but confrontational. Her mouth is what will sink this place down. I finally got my food nice and cold. Message to management: train your people to know how to treat customers. If you tell me my food will be at my house in 1 hour, I expect it in 1 hour and if not then you call me and tell me, I shouldn’t have to call you and for you to have someone that can’t handle situations it’s worse. Too bad I can’t give«0» stars

I liked the food and thought it was nice to support what appears to be a family-owned restaurant but the service is terrible. I ordered about 50 bucks of food with 5 entrees and only four showed up. When I called the lady on the phone at Taco Yo she acted as though I was mistaken about the missing food and we got into an argument over it. I had my grub hub receipt to prove what I ordered but it shouldn’t have to come down to that. I’m very upset because I’m still waiting for the food which was ordered 2 ½ hours ago. This is horrible and it ruined our evening. I do not recommend delivery of food from Taco Yo at all.

I’m a true believer in trying a place out even if it doesn’t have that great of reviews. When looking at the reviews, keep in mind that this is a small family owned business that is literally ran by just two people. With that in mind, it may take longer to get your food but it’s always good! So sit down and enjoy the wait for tasty foods! I would recommend steak burrito but avoid the al pastor.

I’m not sure why this place has such below average reviews, but I think that if you are looking for a great taco place that serves it fresh and hot, you are coming to the right place. The service is friendly, and the food is delicious. Everything is made fresh to order. You don’t go to McDonald’s for a five-star meal, so you wouldn’t be coming to this taco place for a five-star meal. It is the McDonald’s of the taco world. And it’s a hell of a lot better than anything you would find at a Taco Bell. I often get their chorizo tacos or burrito. The guacamole is also delicious. Their salsas are okay; they come in bottles, but I can overlook that because it’s free! For the price you’ll be paying for your meal, you really can’t complain. The quality far outweighs what you are paying for. If you want a good solid Mexican meal come here. If you’re not that hungry, you could always just come for the Telenovela!
