So, a week after I bought my octopus candleholder I decided to measure it to see what size candles to get for it and I noticed that one of the eight arms was wobbly, compared to the others that didn’t move much. So, I started inspecting and noticed that the arm was broken. Had it just been cracked I would have accepted the possibility that it got damaged on the ride home, but upon close inspection you could see the leg had been completely broken off and glued back on. I debated whether to try and return it or not or just re-glue it, because I hate the hassle of returning things and I had already had it for a week and had no proof that it was broke when I purchased it. Also, I didn’t know what the stores return policy was. Specialty stores like this are usually«no returns» stores. Considering the price tag though I decided it was too expensive an item to have received damaged, since it was not marked as damaged or even discounted when I bought it. I’m not going to assume that the store knowingly sold a damaged item and tried to pass it off as new, since it’s possible it was sold to them that way too. Had the glue not started coming loose I wouldn’t have even noticed it was even broken and didn’t notice it at the time of purchase, so it’s possible they didn’t either. Who knows. I took the item back to the store and immediately was greeted by a female employee(I didn’t get her name or title) who asked, «Did it not work out for you?». I showed her the item and explained to her what happened and she immediately with no questions asked refunded my money. I was shocked! I’ve never had a return go that easy. I was really dreading taking it back too, because I was expecting an argument, but there wasn’t one. I appreciate the fact that they took me at my word and made it right, because that determined whether or not I would return. Luckily for them they kept a repeat customer with expensive tastes and little self-control.

Driving through downtown Bethany Allenton Interiors stands out. Their store front says«new and exciting». While only open for about a month, I have wanted to stop several times. I love interrior design stores and was excited for the possibilities this new boutique held. Oh the possibilities! Wowzas!(can I say wowzas for such a fine store?) I was a tad intimated at first. Their store front boasts modern décor and afluency. However, once in the store I was greeted warmly and quickly found several items I would have loved to carry on my back(if need be) home with me. I believe truly they have something for everyone. I was quite surprised as well to see the reasonable prices. Such as a beautiful lantern like vase for around $ 30. Trendy muslim stamped large throw-pillows for $ 35(that I have seen in up-scales shops and online boutiques for $ 75+) Paintings, chandeliers, furniture, … I loved the mass majority of it. It all looked to be very high quality, reasonable priced, high style. I asked a particular item that I really loved, but simply couldn’t purchase yesterday. The sales associate walked over to the piece with me and told me that it was definitely something they can get again if it is sold when I come back for it. It kind of reminds me of a smaller scale Z-Gallerie, which I love.
