Came with my husband excited to try the Mojarra, did not disappoint. It was a great experience, my husband had the lamb and that was also delicious. Definitely had an authentic feel, service was welcoming.

I hear a ton of good stuff about this place, I am kind of a Mexican food snob, only because I am used to where I grew up in Southern California, so I have a level of high expectations of Mexican food. This place did not disappoint I got the Lamb Birria, The flavor was awesome the meat was well done. The flour and corn tortillas were solid. My only complaint was the salsa was way below par, I was hoping for way better. I didn’t even touch the queso, not a fan of that anyways, but again fell way below being good. Service was outstanding! I will be going back to try more of the menu, great prices!!!

Loved this place! Authentic Mexican food. Service was great. Loved their guac and tacos rancheros. Daughter had the quesadilla and husband loved the beef enchiladas. We will be back if we find ourselves in the Warr acres/Bethany area again!

4.5 stars Been here a few times and go out of the way to eat here just for the lamb birria(drive through OKC to get to California or to TX). Very friendly service. The guava cheesecake is very tasty, though not what I expected from a cheesecake – more like a cross between a custard and cheesecake. Only things I would recommend: the dishes for the birria could be deeper so it would be easier to eat this brothy dish with tortillas. Also, the chilaquiles dish should be made with freshly fried tortilla pieces, instead of tortilla chips. What I love: the toasty tortillas they serve up(not a typical tostada). The fried and salted chiles they have at the table, micheladas, and that their enchiladas are made with Mexican cheeses rather than American blends of cheese.

My husband and I went for the first time last night after reading the wonderful reviews. As soon as we walked thru the front door we could smell the wonderful aroma of food being cooked in the kitchen. I ordered their signature dish…OMG!!! it was so good. My husband ordered the enchiladas. Get ready for really great authentic Mexican food and excellent wait staff. Dr «J»

I haven’t had a meal like that in years. The goat birria was exquisite and well served with its side condiments. The service was great as well, ask for Juan, hes very pleasant and attentive. I recommend this place to anyone looking for an authentic Mexican flavor!

Stopped here on a whim, the diner next door was jammed. I don’t know too much about birrerias, or what region of Mexico I was walking into but the crispy fried dry chilis –and little molcahetes of dark chili oil indicated legit-ness. Anyway it was late morning and I grabbed a huevos rancheros with a side of chorizo, and amazingness ensued. This was the best huevos I have had. Anywhere. 2 eggs over perfect; the red sauce was homemade and excellent, beans and rice were definitely not from a can and a box respectively. The chorizo was grilled loose on the grill and flavored the eggs and ranchers sauce. Not a great meal to eat in a moving car; but fantastic otherwise. I would love to go back and explore the Menu, just for a chance to eat more of those dry-fried chilies. This definitely felt like authentic regional food; don’t go here looking for Tex-mex.

My wife and I went there on a whim on 12÷28÷15. The atmosphere was nice and were greeted immediately by staff. They had a unique chili salsa on the table I’d never seen before, but really went well with the complimentary queso. The chips were warm and not too salty, the salsa was fresh. My wife ordered lunch cheese enchiladas and I ordered dinner chicken flautas. Although the flautas were a little dry, there was plenty to satisfy my hunger. My wife’s enchiladas were par for the course, but the rice and beans filled the gap. Overall the food and service would be a 3 or better, but after paying my $ 20-something bill with a reasonable tip and going on our way we found they charged my credit card $ 47. I called the restaurant immediately after finding out and was told I would get a call back the next morning. After not receiving a call I again called the restaurant and was told to call back the next day. When I asked for the name of the manager, the person on the other line just kept saying«hello» like she couldn’t hear me and hung up the phone. I will try to call back again tomorrow, but my hopes are not high. My advice to anyone wanting to take a chance on this place is to pay cash only!

Portions are so large and so good. Went here with a MeetUp group and they were very accommodating to our group of 12. I hade their main lamb dish and really live every bite. Salsa, chips, and queasy are included. Really makes it a deal.

People always ask me for«the best» _____. Tacos, pizza, steaks, burgers, Korean food, phở, etc. When they want to know where I go for Mexican food, I tell them Birrieria Diaz. There are lots of great Mexican places in OKC. Something for every taste. But the one that’s always on my mind is Diaz. I suggest you try the Tacos Diaz($ 6.99). Inside your choice of flour or corn tortillas, you will find steak, ham and bacon in the same taco. Not«steak, ham or bacon.» This isn’t amateur hour. No, that’s a very important«and» — one that comes with melting mozzarella cheese, peppers, onions and tomatoes — that you should treat with equal parts respect and gnawing hunger. Is there a chance you will die young if you eat this? Yes. But a better question is, Will your life even be worth living if you don’t eat it? Also yes. These aren’t three magic tacos filled with solutions for the endless string of mistakes you call a life. But they are very tasty. You might be putting way too much pressure on tacos. Located in Bethany, Birrieria Diaz is probably best known for its birria — a spicy mix of broth and meat — and rightly so. Birria(small for $ 6, medium for $ 8, large for $ 10) is a feast for the mouth and the eyes. It’s bright red with tender, braised beef or lamb, and it comes with so many fixings on the side that your table will be covered in a rainbow of flavors. You should get the birria. You will get the birria. But you might also get some other stuff. That said, I was very taken with the posole verde($ 6.99), which did the unthinkable — got me to eat hominy. As much as I love grits, hominy has never held any appeal for me. It’s watery, the texture is weird and the flavor is off. Yet the posole at Birrieria Diaz has tons of hominy in it, and it was addictively delicious. It’s a pork and hominy stew, which is filling and satisfying, but it has the mild sweetness of avocado and the zing of tomatillo sauce. If you’re lucky enough to stop in for breakfast(or if you like breakfast any time of day), check out the huevos rancheros or the spicy eggs($ 7 each). Just be sure to ask for your eggs over-easy, because over-medium eggs are going to keep cooking on the plate and nobody wants a cooked-through yolk. Nobody. A bit more subdued is the Enchiladas Mexicanas($ 6.99), which are filled with cheese and onions and covered in red sauce. Add a little kick with the homemade salsa or hot sauce, and give the fried potatoes on the side a shake of salt. But you should get the Tacos Diaz. They’re too good.

Food is really good… almost authentic Mexican food. By almost I mean you can only get real Mexican food in Mexico. Their tacos, tortas, sopes, and enchiladas are the best. Green SALSA!!! Prices are also not to high… affordable Deserts like the tres leches cake, chocolate cake and guava cake are delicious. La comida es deliciosa. Los tacos, las tortas, los sopes, las enchiladas estas riquísimas. Los precios no son nada malos. El pastel de tres leches, chocolate, o de guaya son de lo mejor.

Absololutely delicious food! The lamb birria(sp?) was wonderful. The salsa is excellent. Add some salsa and the chili oil to the queso, for an awesome dip. I will be back!

I really like this place. I am a big fan of our local taquerias. This is authentic Mexican food. The gorditas and tacos are delicious. The place is a no frills type of atmosphere, but the food speaks for itself. My family each have their favorite item to eat. My daughter likes the quesadilla. My wife loves the gorditas and sopes. My son likes the nachos and I like the tacos as well as the birria. Give this place a try if you are in the area and like authentic style Mexican food.

Uninformed waitstaff. Old, cold, greasy chips but GREAT salsa.(The queso tastes more like the can it came in than anything relating to dairy). Nice touch is bringing crema agria along with salsas. Enchiladas with queso fresco and red refined beans reminded me of my Central American upbringing. The best way I can describe their papas is butter with a layer of chili powder with a layer of oil. I don’t need to repeat this mas o menos dining experience.

I’m a big fan of all the local taquerias and authentic Mexican food eateries in OKC, and Birrieria Diaz is no different. I had three different tamales: chicken, pork and beef. They were all good but I liked the chicken the least. My coworker introduced me to this place and it’s great for the area and the price. I can’t say I’d go out of my way to come here because I didn’t find it all that unique from other taquerias that are closer to my house, but you won’t be disappointed here! The service was very good also.

I have wanted to try this place after passing it a few times and saw it was busy. My wife and I wanted Mexican food so we stopped in today. As soon as we walked in you could see they were not very busy it was about 2:30PM. The floor needed to be swept it was awful not a good sign! The chips and salsa were really good but that was about it? I guess it’s authentic Mexican but it was very greasy and the beans tasted like pure lard. My wife had to get the kids enchilada plate because we didn’t know what a lot of the items were.

WHYISTHISPLACENOT A TOP10RESTAURANTINOKC??? This place EASILY tops any of those weak«tex-mex» places out there. This is one of the best mexican places I have been to. Every single thing you order here is amazing and authentic. Even the free salsa and chips are soooo good! We’ve had the enchiladas, menudo, tamales, tacos and are ALL solid. This place should have thousands of 5star reviews! Come on Unilocal of OKC! Get over here!

So I heard from a little bird somewhere that this place had Pazole. That would be a large bowl of soup with hominy pork meat and avocado(pazole verde) hmm… I’m down. I went in to this little place which is tucked nicely into the strip at NW39th& College(next to Pappa Angelos, my FAVORITE pizza place in town) and I noticed something very quickly… I was the lone gringo in the joint. I strolled in, got a table and glanced over the menu… knowing full well I was there for the very dish that lured me here and then something happened. I had a hard time deciding what I wanted. It all looked and sounded so good. I tried to stay on task and block the other things out of mind and focus on the pazole. I munched on chips and delicious salsa, a dab of queso here and there and finale had to order 3 different things off the menu, one to eat and the other 2 to take home. The pazole was delicious! So was the birra… so were the tacos Diaz. My only recommendation is take friends so you can share off each others plates. I’m definitely going back until I have tried the other 8 things I couldn’t decide on or fit in my belly that day!
