Really great ice cream. A nice little business that’s gettting more popular. Lines tend to be long early evening during the season. The ice cream does exactly what it’s supposed to do: make you hugely fat. Don’t blame me because I chose to eat tons of «heaven in a cone». It’s not my fault that diabetes is a hot fudge sundae away. Damn you Bonkey’s, for making me eat my feelings.

Great ice cream, huuuge portions. Closed for the season in early Oct. will reopen in May.

Best ice cream around. Bonkeys is definitely a local favorite and with good reason. Just a short drive from Bethany beach.

Good place for those who can eat dairy and often visit for my wife and MIL to enjoy. Lots of flavors but unfortunately no nondairy options.
Be careful exiting onto 26 in high season. Tourists abound!

They have so many flavors, that by the time you get to the ordering window you want them all, or at least three at a time! Quality ice cream in downtown Bethany Beach. A definite go to place for locals and tourists! You just can’t beat ice cream at the beach!

Damned good Ice cream with a litany of flavors! One cannot come in here saying, They don’t have my flavor — Shut up!!!

Best ice cream in Bethany. A wide variety of flavors and other desserts. Favorite flavors: Cookie Monster, bubblegum, caramel old bay, salted caramel. Some flavors change day to day. Get there early because the line gets super long and parking isn’t the best. It’s cash only and the bubblegum ice cream doesn’t have actual chunks of gum in it like other beach places which is why I took off a star.

Interestingly, actual homemade ice cream in Bethany can be hard to come by. The speciality in the area is frozen custard, peddled by places like Kohr’s Brothers and Dicky’s. A place like Bonkey’s is nice to have-​homemade ice cream, unique flavors, good prices, and fast service make for a really good experience.
My sundae consisted of peanut butter chocolate and Nutella ice cream, hot fudge, whipped cream, crushed peanuts, and a cherry on top. (Full on 3^rd trimester food baby) And honestly, while everything all together was really good, the actual ice cream didn’t blow me away. The Nutella tasted mostly like chocolate and not Nutella. The peanut butter chocolate also tasted of mostly chocolate and not peanut butter. Hot fudge was excellent though. Whipped cream tasted homemade, and for the sake of this review we’ll pretend it was. Peanuts tasted like peanuts. Cherry was red, stemless, and of the marachino variety… mmm
Could Bonkey’s do a bit better with the ice cream flavors? Sure.
Could they charge twice what they charge now for a sundae and get away with it? Probably.
Bonkey’s isn’t perfect, but they do it right. Recommended.

Wide variety of flavored and many are quite unique. Great prices and great service. Must try the blueberry pancake its outstanding.

Homemade ice cream in flavors that are creative without being too ridiculous. It was worth the trip in concept. Don’t get me wrong, the product delivered as expected (something called grasshopper and Googly moogly were both top notch) but the location was a real let down. 5 stars for the product 2 stars for the location, rounding up cause I teach college kids who do poorly enough even when I do round up.

Quick service, great ice cream, wide variety of flavors and inexpensive. With three kids we are usually looking for a good ice cream spot while on vacation. Glad we found this one. Definitely recommend.

Funky little ice cream place off the beaten beach path. Really enjoyed my blueberry pancake ice cream in a sugar cone. Will be back to try some other creative flavors, like pineapple upside down cake or burnt sugar. The prices are very reasonable. (Plan to eat in your car or on your tailgate – no seating that I saw.)

Outstanding ice cream. Friendly staff & delicious flavors. The Birthday Cake ice cream is phenomenal. Prices are reasonable too. This is my new favorite place for ice cream at the beach. Five stars and then some!

Ice cream here was delicious. Between my family and I we must have tried at least 10+ flavors and not a single one we didn’t love. Great proportions for the price you pay. Loved it and definitely will be coming back more as soon as I can!

I got the baklava small which was very good. There were about 2 – 3 scoops on the cone.
My husband ordered the root beer slushy. He didn’t care for it… and it was $ 3.95 for a large.
The ice cream is good and averages priced for ice cream at the beach.

Fantastic ice cream. Rave reviews from our whole group. Had Burnt Sugar and Chocolate Raspberry Truffle and they did not disappoint. It’s a little ways away from the beach and not the prettiest location but the ice cream is worth it.

Been here a few times as our go to spot for delicious ice cream! It’s a great place to reward your kids when they are well behaved. There are so many flavors you can choose from too. The service is awesome as one of our kids dropped their cone and they jus have us a new one free of charge. It’s the little things that a place can do that makes customers happy. I would definitely recommend Bonkeys anytime your in the Bethany area!

Great sundae. What made it was the amazing caramel and marshmallow toppings. I am an extreme sweet tooth – it’s hard to make a dessert too sweet for me. So the Bonkey’s ice cream that I had was not my favorite by itself, as my dad and I decided it was not as sweet as other ice cream. However, since many people like my dad prefer things not-​so-​sweet, I’m sure many people will disagree with me. The caramel and marshmallow were super sweet so I really enjoyed the sundae. Good spot overall!

Just discovered this place last weekend and we came back this weekend.
There really is something for everyone here. Last weekend I had the pineapple upside down cake ice cream, which was one if the best things I’ve ever tasted. My husband tried the Cookie Monster last weekend (they said it was their best seller), and he had it again last night. The toasted coconut and chocolate peanut butter were also great.
We have a new dessert spot at the beach!
Pros: great ice cream, exceptional flavor options, friendly service.
Cons: only bad thing is the location (in a parking lot next to a truck trailer) and dumpster.
