I always have a great experience when I come to this salon(although I hadn’t been here in at least 2 years). I recently had my hair done by Lisa. She did an amazing job with what she was working with. I came in with dry, frizzy, abused hair and a bad highlight job. Lisa did her magic and made my hair into a beautiful work of art. I highly recommend the salon and Lisa if you’re looking for a great relaxing experience. I know that this type of salon can be pricey but believe me, it is worth the money and investment for your hair into a really great natural product. The products are amazing and you will feel rejuvenated once you experience this salon. Thanks Lisa!

I had a great hair cut here, the shampoo was amazing! The girl(can’t remember her name) really took her time to make me feel relaxed during my shampoo, I even got a nice hot towel wrapped around my hair after I was done. I referred a friend there and got something in the mail from them giving me a discount on products there which was nice.

I just moved to the area and have always gone to Aveda salons. I found a New Beginning and made my first appointment. There were mixed reviews on Unilocal but, unless I wanted to drive over an hour to another Aveda salon, I decided to give it a try. From the moment I walked in the door I felt that it was going to be a good experience. The front desk was beyond cordial and my stylist came right out and introduced herself. Norma was AMAZING!!! She listened to me, offered suggestions and away we went! I had only gone in for color but after seeing how perfect the color was I decided to get my hair cut as well. Unbelievable!!! It was perfect too!!! I was given a tour of the facility and I honestly can’t wait to go back and enjoy the experience of a New Beginning again. I give it 5 stars!!! They are awesome!!!

I love coming to A New Beginnings. I’ve worked with a few different stylists over the past 3 years, and each of them have listened to my indecisiveness about what I want to do and provided true feedback on my ideas. I hate the«whatever you want to do» response. Hello! You are the professional and I’m asking for your opinion! The ladies at A New Beginning go above and beyond each time. It’s is pricey, but a girls gotta do what a girls gotta do!

1st appointment — I went to a stylist based on a coworker’s recommendation. I really the haircut and felt she listened to my needs. Was excited to finally have a stylist I could trust — I tried the Paul Mitchell Salon and that was an ok cut but it took 5 hours. I’ve recently moved so I’ve been looking for someone in the area. For my 2nd haircut — they called and left a message that my stylist would not be in that day but, for some reason, the voicemail didn’t go through until days later. That was not their fault but I did go the salon expecting my stylist. The people at the front desk made me feel weird, like it was my fault for not calling back regarding a message I did not receive. Again, in their defense, they thought I ignored the message and in mine, I didn’t receive the message until days later. They pushed me to go to another stylist. I wasn’t sure because I had had bad experience at other salons where you just go «to anyone». I tried to reschedule but I couldn’t find an appointment that worked for my schedule anytime soon, so I(against my own better judgement) agreed to see the new stylist. What a mistake. She was young. So very inexperienced. I do not hold that against her but it was obvious she was not able to adjust my wants to her abilities. My hair is simple. I am not too picky — just want long layers, angle in the front, not chunky. I wanted it to blend in. I explained this and she agreed but she still made it chunky. I explained again, she did a few things, it was still chunky(I’m simplifying but I basically mean that I didn’t want the front/angled portion to fall forward in a chunk. I prefer when it blends into the layers behind it). I tried explaining it a different way — she seemed annoyed and confused and I was just really annoyed and frustrated with myself for agreeing to go to «just anyone». I should have known better. I left there frustrated and disappointed that I was paying for a haircut that I didn’t like but decided to «give it a shot». 3rd appointment: went back to my regular stylist and we are back on track. She is knowledgeable and able to hear what my concerns about the previous cut. She did a great job and I look forward to the next one in a month or so. I’ve also had waxing done. The girl was not friendly or unfriendly. Just kinda there. She didn’t ask questions and I was worried she would mess up and make me look«surprised»(my issue at the avenda salon in ridgefield) but she didn’t. She did a great job. I was shocked at the expense of the wax and I do not know if I liked the wax enough to go back again for that price.

This place has been going steadily down hill over the last couple of years. The counter girls are not very welcoming or professional, and have a «nose in the air» type of attitude. They push you to schedule your next appointment before you leave the salon, but then they double-book your appointment and leave you sitting there with no consideration for your time. They push the«team concept» and tell you that you can go to any stylist if your regular is on vacation or already booked when you want to come in, but the problem with that is then you get someone who has absolutely no loyalty to you as a client and doesn’t care. That«team concept» is meant to build salon loyalty, and prevent loyalty to any one stylist. Good for them, but not so good for the customer or the stylist. They also need to train their stylists better because one of the stylists I ended up with came from Paul Mitchell and confessed to me she was unfamilar with the Aveda product line and asked me what she should use on my hair. Yes, that’s right — I had to explain the Aveda product line to an Aveda stylist! Fail.

A friend gave me a gift card to this spa… it’s oddly placed in the middle of a strip mall; however, pleasant on the inside. I used the card for a mani/pedi. My review: DONOTGOHEREFOR A MANI/PEDI. Maybe this place does great hair and massages, but they do not do great manicures or pedicures. The nail area is a definite afterthought for this place. It’s stark and cold. Sitting in the pedi chair, which in most spas is a place to relax, I felt like I was in the dentist chair under an overly bright fluorescent light. The manicurist was a very sweet, very young(read: inexperienced) girl. I had to have both manicure and pedicure redone the next day. The nail polish was thick/gunky and bubbled. The edges of my nails were uneven and ragged. It’s a shame… I have no idea what I’m going to do with the balance on the gift card… and, as I stated, maybe it’s great place for massages? Hair cuts? Just not for nails:(

Awesome team of stylists! Very experienced and professional. Hand massage and hot towel on head for every shampoo. So relaxing. Highly recommended! Spa is also a great place to relax and have a massage or pedicure!

Went today to try them out before using them for my son’s wedding. My pedicure was poor to say the least. My calluses were completely ignored and I left with dry skin on my heels and balls of my feet. The waxing I had was fair as there were a few hairs on my brows that I still had to pluck when I got home. Emily was lovely but the service was grossly overpriced. I won’t be going back.

I came here to get a trim on hair that I had been trying to grow out for years and walked out with a reverse mullet with most of my hair gone. Absolutely the worst haircut I’ve ever gotten and when I called to complain the lady who returned my message treated me like I did something wrong. They do have some good stylists but DONOT just walk in unless you want to walk out looking like that lady with all the kids before she consulted a decent stylist.

What a pleasant surprise right next door! After countless bad haircuts I randomly chose this salon in hopes they would REALLY have someone who knows how to cut curly hair considering most salons in the area don’t recognize there IS a difference. Brenna cut my hair and she was amazing! I was greeted with some lovely tea and hand massage while I had he luxury of a wash, cut and style. Amazing isn’t it? Since these days if you want a wash or style along with your haircut, it costs extra. I highly recommend this salon and am interested in trying out their additional services. Thank you Brenna!

If you want a haircut that lasts and color that is done right, I suggest you check this place out. They just expanded last winter and put in a spa section. I haven’t gotten any manicures or massages, but I have been coming here for haircuts for over 5 years now. My hair stays healthy for months and you can request which stylist you want every time. As for coloring, they do amazing jobs on full color, glaze and highlights. They know exactly how to work the hair color palette and which color looks good with your personal skin tone. All the stylists and receptionists are extremely nice and become almost more than acquaintances in your life if you’ve been there more than once. You have to make an appointment before you go, but that is mandatory at most places. The only reason I didn’t give it five stars is because the prices. They are really expensive, but it is well worth it!
