This place is awesome. The freshest sushi i have had locally. Order the tuna rolls and look how red they are. The asian dishes are also excellent. I come from Southbury for takeout and its well worth the trip. My mission is to find the freshest and best rolls and this place is close to it. Give it a shot.

This place is my «go to» for sushi. The Yuki Hana roll is a personal favorite but all the sushi is great. The fish is fresh and flavorful and beautifully presented. For an appetizer ask if they have the Kaki Fry (fried oysters). You get 6 plump piping hot oysters — delicious! If you’re in the mood for hot food try any Udon dish or the Singapore Mei Fun. Jeffrey, the sushi master, will let you know what’s fresh!

Fantastic, fresh fish and creative sushi rolls coupled with warm, friendly service. Nice selection of wines and saki. I highly recommend! Their chef’s special rolls are always delicious and worth a try as well.

Every time I come here, it keeps getting better. Keep in mind that I only get sushi here. Everything is top notch and fresh, no exceptions. The sushi chef is a great guy and is willing to talk and educate on anything you have questions with. Casual and chill ambience– friendly wait staff, clean place too. Try this place, you won’t be disappointed.

Love this place. Have been many times and always very happy. The sushi is really good, with lots of selection beyond the normal sushi. Toro is priced well and very good. Its my place to go for sushi. The Chinese food is also very good. My son got some shrimp dish last night and it looked great.

This place is so cute, and staff was very friendly. The presentation of the food was pleasant and taste was amazing. Pricing is affordable and decent for the amount of food you receive. Interior was also well maintained. I would definitely recommend this restaurant. :)

Awesome sushi! Amazingly fresh and tasty. Service is wonderful as well. Sushi is the best I’ve had even better than the sushi I’ve had in NYC and DC. Definitely worth a try and you will be hooked and want to come back every week.

Great place to eat at, prices are very good for the portions that you get. My girlfriend and I go here as often as possible. I was also offered a job by the owner to learn how he makes his sushi, will definitely take him up on his offer. Staff is very friendly.

Just went today with my boyfriend and we had the caterpillar roll (shrimp tempura and eel with avocado on top), Connecticut roll, california, and the shrimp tempura rolls. They were all fairly priced and FRESH. 10⁄10 would recommend!

Sushi is my favorite food. I’ve tried every place in this area and a few in NYC & Boston and nothing comes close to J Fugi.
The sushi is always extremely fresh and delicious. While I order the other entrees less frequently than the sushi, they are always also very, very good.
The servers are always friendly and happy to see you and provide great service, and the owners always personally thank you for coming. While the physical restaurant itself is smaller and not decorated extremely fancy, it is very clean and welcoming.
Prices are very fair and less expensive than others that don’t come close to J Fugi’s quality.
Overall if you like sushi or any Asian cuisine, you have to try J Fugi!

By far my favorite sushi place in CT :) The food is served with love from beginning to end. They are the nicest owners because they really get to know their customers personally. If you are into cooked sushi like me, then try the spicy shrimp. If you end up liking it, you may start to crave for it like I do! The noodle dishes are sometimes hit or miss (i.e. too much sauce, too salty, too spicy) but overall they’re good.

This is the best Asian cuisine in the area. The owner is very friendly and not afraid to steer you towards whats the freshest for sushi. There is a great mix of Japanese and Chinese cuisine as well. Portions are just the right size and the value for the cost can’t be beat.
Avoid the chains and support local business owners. Although we are regulars here everyone gets the best possible service.
