Way overpriced… double, triple and more. Many books are dirty and feel to the touch like they’ve been under rubble. One room is entirely wasted that needs shelving so the books can be better spread out. The owner(?) was friendly, but between the prices(and for messed up books, too) and the general condition of the stock, this store is not worth more than 1 trip a year. Lastly, I was there a few months ago and again recently, and the stock was mostly the same. Of course, at these prices, not too many people are buying what’s on the shelves.

Crazy bookstore. I arrived on a day when they were rearranging the stacks, needless to say finding books was a task. Took me over an hour to get just to the letter G. Good selection though, when they are done with the remodel it will be worth it

What a great little bookstore and wonderful staff and owner. I can(and have) hang in here for hours and always find things to purchase and hear interesting stories. Feel free to bring a cup of coffee in(just be careful) and browse. Great cookery collection, electronics, gardening. Pretty much everything. It’s a mess, but that’s half the fun. It’s book heaven.

I have really enjoyed visiting this bookstore over the years I have lived in the area. The owners are always very helpful when I am looking for a rare or out of print book. They have been able to find me some amazing deals. I also enjoy just walking around the store and getting lost in the piles of books. Their sci-fi sections has some real gems in it.

What a wonderful shop. I walked in and felt like I entered the kind of book shop that would have a secret door to some far off land. The folks that run the shop are an absolute joy. They have no problem talking about books or pouring through their collection to try and find that one book you are looking for. Relay has an amazing collection. The books are literally stacked from floor to ceiling and anywhere else they can fit! The have a wide selection from new releases to precious antique volumes. If you are a Sci-Fi or Fantasy fan you owe it to yourself to make the trip. They have walls of rare and out of print fantasy. I was able to find a first US edition of The Silmarillion with jacket! They also have a great selection of Harry Potter books including the UK and foreign language editions. If you live far off the are around the shop makes it very day trip friendly. There is a little café right next store and a pizza place right across the way. So really, there is no excuse to not go visit Relay Bookhouse!

A real gem. This used book store is absolutely worth a trip. The inside is fairly chaotic — books floor to ceiling — but they have a really good selection. I’m from Berkeley which has a competitive used-book scene(Moe’s, Black Oak, The Other Change of Hobbit, Pegasus, Half-Price Books, Shakespeare), and Relay would be right at home among them. Relay’s science fiction and fantasy section is large and has great coverage. I was looking for an out-of-print Terry Pratchett book(Night Watch). None of my home-town stores had it, Relay had more than 10 different Pratchett titles in paperback including the one I wanted. Worth a visit. Buy some books here and take them to the nice little café next store.
