Pizza is delicious and fresh. I like to build my own most of the time, but prefer green top if I’m not trying to think too hard. My child loves the one topping pepperoni pizza, we go all the time. Very reasonably priced and consistent.

Blaze is definitely not &Pizza in terms in terms of toppings selection and friendly service. The concept is the same, build your own pizza with unlimited toppings. However, it’d be nice if they had more toppings, sauces, and finishes. They also don’t ask if you want finishes like arugula if you don’t specifically ask. The pizzas are fired in the oven and takes longer, though I do like the crispy outer crust. The crust in the center is too thin and flimsy, so you really can’t hold each pizza by the slice without knife and fork. The biggest plus though is the roasted garlic cloves. I can eat 10 of them with my pizza and by themselves!

Bland, Bland and more Bland. Got the mozzarella, spicy red sauce with pepperoni and salame. Just unbelievably bland and not good, edible but not even close to good. Save yourself the money and go elsewhere.

I really enjoyed Blaze Fast Fired Pizza. Great price for a pizza with as many fresh toppings as you’d like. The pizza is prepared while you wait(180 seconds). You can’t beat that!

Very good pizza. I wasn’t sure if I’d like it(as I’m a big &pizza fan and this looked like a knock-off) but the end result was a perfectly cooked create your own pizza for a very fair price. I’m not sure but I think it comes in a little cheaper than &pizza and you get a similar assortment of quality toppings. For instance, you can get cheese only for $ 5. That’s great. I got an all-the-toppings you want pie(build your own) for like $ 7.80 which was about $ 8.30 after taxes. Really nice selection of toppings. They seemed a little disorganized and the pizza took a little longer than expected to cook, but the end result was excellent. So I’d go back again. Two dough choices, standard and gluten free. Sauces you have white, regular, spicy and I think a pesto. Pizzas were pre-rolled with little crust ridges on them(I thought that was odd) so I don’t know if they come pre-made or they are made and rolled fresh in house. All good za though! Give a try.

Sometimes the most unlikely place can surprise you. Been to Blaze pizza at Montgomery Mall at least half a dozen times and enjoyed consistently tasty and properly prepared individual pies. The sauce and crust is very good and when you order the way you like it, they put on as many and as much fresh toppings as you want. The place is clean, service fast, friendly, and pricing very reasonable. If you want dining ambience pick another pizza place, but for the tastiest pizza in the area try Blaze.

Simple pie for $ 5, who could beat that? I was pleasantly surprised at how crispy and light the crust was. It was just how I like it — classic tomato sauce, mozzarella and Parmesan cheese. I love their coal fire oven. This is definitely better than &Pizza. Just wish they had beer or wine, then it would have been perfect.

Was curious to check this place out as I love &pizza and was curious what other restaurants were doing with a similar idea. Here their schtick is that they cook the pizza in a pizza oven(sadly not a wood-burning one though). I did like the crunch this gave the crust but you do have to wait a tad bit longer for your pizza to come out. The ingredients were OK but one that stuck out the most was their roasted garlic. I wish I got more and more on my pizza and possibly some on the side. They don’t have as many sauces to choose from compared to &pizza but you could also get a plain pizza or one-topping for closer to $ 5. The pizza here tasted good and I liked some of the options but I’m not sure if the whole pizza oven thing adds much more than a little crunch, a few minutes, and some black flour on the bottom of the pizza. The toppings were a little sparse but I think that goes along with their style of pizza crust that is thin and crunchy. With the choices of toppings and sauces I can’t but help compare them to &pizza where in the duel between them &pizza is the victor, but I can see other people preferring this style over &pizza. The thing I didn’t like about my first experience at this location was some of the staff seemed disinterested in their work and the customers at the time. The first person who greeted me was friendly and offered explanations but the girl who took over with the toppings didn’t say anything or look at me. Her and the next toppings girl weren’t all that generous with the toppings. I had to keep saying, «a little more please, a little more». This might be a good thing as you wouldn’t want to overload your pizza here but this was almost stingy. Then the person firing my pizza seemed cold aside from calling out order names. He didn’t ask if I wanted any finishing sauces or arugula or whatever. If this is your first time you might not know you even have that option! Maybe the person who normally does the finishing was on break or something but if dude is gonna cover he better cover. I don’t want to generalize that this is universal for all Blaze Pizzas, because it’s probably not, but this was the first impression I got and the experience with this group of employees was not so hot(pun intended). Granted if you go to &pizza or Chipotle or Subway or wherever they’re not gonna treat you like royalty but with this new restaurant making it’s debut on the DMV scene they need to be better ambassadors of the brand and help us understand how things work. This location in Montgomery Mall is not near the food court, it’s downstairs and on the opposite side. This may throw some people off who don’t really venture down toward Cheesecake Factory(like me) but is also nice since you don’t have to deal with the crowd of the foodcourt.

It seems like everyone and their mom is trying to build off of Chipotle’s highly successful model. Offer customers a ton of prepared components for a meal and let them decide which ones they want. Sounds great, but Chipotle has really perfected the art of keeping things fairly simple while keeping the quality high. There’s dozens other burrito places and places that serve other types of food that come close but just can’t do it the way Chipotle does. When I heard about Blaze Pizza, I was ecstatic. For all the Chipotle wannabes, I’ve yet to see one that attempts to pull off the Chipotle with pizza. No, this review isn’t about Chipotle pizza, its about a new unique concept that’s fresh and exciting. Walk into the mall, and the first thing on the right is Blaze with their counter that again reminds you of the gold standard. This time though, you have a much smaller selection to start off with. No need to decide between bowls, burritos, or salads. Just two simple choices: gluten-free crust or «regular» crust that is rolled out shortly before your arrival. Once you’ve made the difficult decision of whether you want gluten-free or gluten-full(?) crust you get to pick between a few sauces: classic red, spicy red, pesto, white cream, bbq drizzle. Then you’ve got your toppings and cheeses which are pretty standard. Alternatively, there are some«signature pizzas» with predetermined toppings to choose from. You pay, wait«~180 seconds», and boom your pizza pops out and is sliced fresh. If you ordered a drizzle for a sauce or arrugula, those get topped last. Once you’ve got your pizza and decided if you want a drink, which you do want, you then have to decide what you need to drink. There’s a standard soda fountain with nothing worth mentioning, but next to it are two lemonade machines with regular lemonade and blood orange lemonade. I’ve been on a pretty strict diet as of late and I usually have no trouble sticking to it, but I could swear there was a snake at Blaze today that was whispering in my ear. I left having drank too much of both the lemonades. Pizza is pizza, its really hard to mess up. Yet, a lot of places mess it up real bad. I don’t think Blaze does anything really special compared to other places in terms of the actual pizza. Please don’t misunderstand what I said. The pizza is good, in fact, I’d even venture to say its great. There’s plenty of unique, high-quality sauces, cheeses and topping to choose from. The crust could be slightly crispier, but that could just be the water from cooked pineapple. I like the pizza, I really like it a lot. But what I like even more than the pizza is the concept. Where can I walk into a pizza parlor, design a fancy pizza, have it cooked fresh in front of me, eat it, and be gone in less than 20 – 25 minutes? If you look for it there is better pizza, better service, longer wait times, and less topping options at some places. But Blaze fills a special niche that’s been empty for so long. You don’t have to worry about being naked when the pizza delivery guy shows up. You don’t have to worry about people spitting in your food. You can be as impulsive as you want with toppings, or be as undecided as you want without annoying the person taking your pizza order on the phone. Oh, and the games pizza places play with you in terms of sizes? Yeah, you don’t have to play those games either as they only serve one size. The only reason I’m giving 4-stars is because the service was totally indifferent, all the employees seemed like robots or zombies. Also, it’d be nice to see calzones or wings as options. Sometimes I’d like to have wings with my pizza :) Other than that, I highly suggest checking this place out for a quick lunch or dinner.

A new concept of pizza. $ 8 for all the toppings you want on a thin crust pizza in less than 5 minutes — does it get any better? I love Blaze Pizza and I love how you can pick your own toppings, and as many as you want from a pretty extensive selection. I can literally make my dream pizza. You start in an assembly line, and then pick your sauce, cheese, meats and veggies as you go down the counter. I chose the spicy red sauce and it was delicious. To be able to get ovalini mozzarella cheese, as well as fresh basil, arugula, pineapple and other standard favorites on my pizza was great. You pay the cashier, watch your pie being baked and delivered within five minutes to eat in or take out. The end result is a perfectly crispy crust, excellent sauce, and tasty hand-picked toppings. I was in an absolute state of bliss. I love all meats(chicken, sausage, meatballs, etc) and cheese, so I add almost everything on my pizza. All the toppings may seem overload at first, but once if comes out of the oven, the toppings flatten out so pizza doesn’t look 10 lbs heavy. I can not rave enough about the idea of unlimited toppings for a pizza! Pick your sauce, cheeses, meats, veggies and however much you want all for one price. Blaze is fast, efficient, delicious, and great price! There are also self-serve boxes for leftovers.

Blaze fast fired pizza, you are fired! Fast! This concept has potential but the customer service was non existent. I walked in about 6pm on Friday afternoon. There were about eight teenagers hanging out behind the counter chatting. Finally someone came up, took my order and started on my one topping pizza. When I got to the cash register, the teenage boy immediately took my $ 10 bill when I clearly wanted to pay with exact change(it was clear I was gathering the 63 cents) from my coin purse. He did not know how to void the transaction so he had to give me change in coins back! Argh! I was trying to get rid of my coins. Anyway, so I was told the pizza would take three minutes in the oven but it was actually left there for about five or six so it came out burned(see pictures). All this meanwhile the eight teenagers stood in front of the oven chatting about piercings and getting there first paycheck. It wasn’t until an older man came out from the back that he took my pizza out of the oven. I understand trying to save overhead by employing teenagers, and that employing them plays to the concept of serving cheap pizza and having Blaze be a cool hangout place for the younger crowd but there needs to be supervision. Jamba Juice has a similar concept but teenagers there seem to be aware that they are on duty, working in a customer service oriented establishment. Never again Blaze! There are just too many places that would take my $ 7 and give me decent food(e.g., veggie bowl at Chipotle).

LOVE the make-your-own pizza concept with unlimited toppings that you get here. I got a deliciously soggy pizza with a ton of toppings, including tomato sauce, cheese, something that resembled a mozzarella ball cheese, basil, artichokes, banana peppers, pepperoni, and some others I can’t even think of. Next time I’m thinking of asking for tomato sauce, 50 meatballs, mozzarella ball cheese, other toppings etc, then some more meatballs stacked on top of the other meatballs because, why not. Beware that if you get a lot of veggies that your pizza will come out soggy, which is supposedly bc they flash cook the pizza, which makes it come out super fast(esp nice if you’re super hungry) but means that wet toppings will make crust soggy. Only 7.75 or so for a very reasonably sized personal pizza. Husband got a pizza from the menu and liked his too, but I liked mine better. Think this will be my new favorite place!

Blaze is located on the first floor across from the Aroma Espresso Bar and near the Cheesecake Factory. This was probably a good idea because it is a GREAT new food option that would probably steal all of the business if it were in the main food court. The downside is that there’s limited seating inside, so plan on taking your food elsewhere. I like my pizza with a LOT of toppings and flavors, so Blaze’s build-you-own pizza option and I naturally make a stellar pair. For $ 7.65, you get a wad of dough, choice of sauce, and as many toppings as your heart desires. Traditional pizza joints with pre-selected options tend to be on the salty side, so I especially liked that my Blaze pizza was not over-salted and had only what I wanted on it. The pizza bakes very quickly once it’s in the oven, so the majority of the time before it’s in your hands is spent moving down the assembly line and picking from the seemingly endless toppings(and probably waiting in line too). This is a list of everything that came on my pizza: half/half red and white sauce, chicken, arugula, red/green bell peppers, cherry tomatoes, chopped garlic, basil, mushrooms, olives, pineapple, red onions, spinach, goat cheese, shredded/ovalini mozzarrella cheese, and parmesan. I kind of wish that they had a thicker dough option for people who plan on getting a ton of toppings because my pizza was falling apart, but my stomach never complained one bit.

So my friend has been raving about this place and I finally got to try it. A group of us went to blaze at 10pm on a Friday night. It was basically empty and one of the guys behind the counter was shaking his head at us as we walked up.(joking or not, lol sorry dude, get used to late night diners. It’s not like we came at the very last minute since it closed at 11pm.) Other than hat, everyone was super nice and patient. You get individual sized 11 in pizzas, and this place follows the current far of Diy — build your own. Like other people mentioned, think chipotle but for pizza. And for about $ 8 for build your own using unlimited toppings, I’m not complaining! Don’t expect a gourmet pizza, but it’s quick and pretty delicious! To my surprise, the pizza actually came out in the 180 sec that they boast about! Just be aware that this is thin crust pizza. Also, the middle of the pizza might get kind of soggy and start falling apart from all the moisture of the sauce and toppings. I can’t attest to how fast the food comes out during an actual rush, but I’d eat here for a quick and affordable bite. Great bargain if you’re up shopping(or even if you just want cheap and slightly fancier/healthier pizza) Ps. My pizza: spicy sauce, shredded and ovaline mozzarella, bacon, sausage, chicken, black olives, mushrooms, banana pepper(cannot say how much I love these!), sautéed onions, red pepper, and pesto drizzle. Unfortunately they were out of arugula. Pretty good combo!(At least boyfriend and I think so). Boyfriend got the white top(one of their preset pizzas) — basically white pizza. It was a little underwhelming. I think we prefer white pizzas with toppings that provide a nice kick/bold flavor.(if you’ve tried the white pizzas at pizza cs you know what I’m talking about). The bacon(bacon bits at best) just didn’t cut it. We’d recommend building your own white pizza combo.

Hot. Fresh. Thin-crust pizza with as many toppings as you like for one price? Yes, please! Tried this place for the first time recently and had to take a minute to give a deserving 5 stars. Crisp, chewy crust. Great selection of high quality toppings! Yum! I also loved the s’more pie, which is a really super creation served warmed from the edge of the pizza oven! Ooey, gooey chocolate and sticky marshmallow sandwiched between these really crumbly McVities — English tea(wheat) biscuits. Fantastic!

Great little fast food pizza place that doesn’t feel fast food at all! I’m a sucker for all the new and improved additions to Montgomery Mall, Blaze included. I was one of those annoying(but polite!) customers that questioned the workers on all the ingredients including if the mozzarella was pasteurized and they were super nice about it and hunted down my answers when they didn’t know(hey most people just give me a random answer when they are too lazy to find out). Anyway, great, fast service and great options for pizza toppings too. I got EVERY veggie and extra cheese and they valiantly tried to fit it all into one pizza pie. Success! The zucchini was surprisingly good as were the shrooms :) I loved their blood orange lemonade though I did mix it with half a cup of water to soften the sweet blow(but I don’t like things too sweet in general) I liked their spicy red sauce and the regular one was tasty too. Can’t wait to go back to try their white sauce with some chicken and spinach :)

Great option if you’re going to eat at the mall. For about $ 8, you can get a tasty decent-sized thin crust pizza with unlimited toppings. It follows the fast-casual food model like &pizza(and Chipotle and Cava Mezze Grill), where you can customize your food with whatever veggies, meat, and sauce you want and watch them put it together in front of you. However, I skipped that part. I didn’t feel like waiting in line so I ordered my pizza through their website, on my phone while I was chatting with a friend in the food court. Pick-up was about 15 minutes later. Quick and easy! Unlike &pizza, which bakes the pizza through a conveyor oven, Blaze uses an open flamed oven so the crust is a little crispier. Someone is always by the oven to rotate the pizzas so they cook evenly. I went with one of their signature pizzas, the Veg Out pizza(zucchini, mushrooms, red onion, mozzarella, and Gorgonzola) and added bacon, garlic, and pesto drizzle. It was really good. The vegetables seemed fresh and pizza wasn’t too greasy. You can opt for a gluten-free crust for extra cost. I’d definitely return and try to make an even tastier pizza. Blaze doesn’t have as many interesting toppings as &pizza, but you can still create a pretty darn good pizza! *It’s not in the food court, but on the lower level, across from Aroma Espresso Bar and near American Eagle.

I was wondering if Sbarro was going to reopen in the food court, but Blaze came firing in the lower level of the mall. This is a big plus for pizza fans who don’t want to eat at CPK. I really like the concept and you can’t go wrong building your own pizza with the unlimited toppings. The line may look long but it does go by pretty quick and the pizzas are cooked fast. Hope they open more locations around MoCo like &pizza is doing.

Wow. This was awesome. Way better value than Matchbox. Totally not soggy like PizzaCS. Perfectly foldable NY style. Toppings were super fresh. The spicy red sauce was ACTUALLY spicy! I LOVE that it’s unlimited toppings to build your own pizza for under $ 8. And a cheese pizza was just $ 5! You can’t beat that! I am pretty certain that I made the best pizza ever. They need to make it into one of their signature ones. It was incredible. If I do say so myself… I’m going to name mine«The Sweet and Spicy» — sauce: Spicy Red Sauce — Meats: Italian sausage, chicken, bacon — cheese: mozzarella, Gorgonzola — veggies: onions, mushrooms, pineapples, spinach, jalepeno My friend had the gluten free crust and she said it was the best she’s ever had.
