I had an excellent experience working with Carpet Palace. They helped my family select carpets from beautiful remnant pieces. The finished rugs were delivered and installed less than one week later, the installers we’re professionals and not only installed our new carpet but helped us correct a previously owned rug/​pad. I will go to Carpet Palace for all future floor coverings, and strongly recommend this business.

Incredible selection, expertise, service, and price. Last Sunday, Steve helped me select a stair runner and two area rugs he could bind from their vast remnant inventory. He listened to what we were looking for and had great suggestions that wound up saving us several hundred dollars. He even showed me both patterns in other recent installations so I could visualize how it would look in my home. He came out that day to measure («measure twice, cut once» as he says) and even customized the cut for the stairs so it would look absolutely perfect. On Thursday morning, right on time, his team arrived with both of the beautiful area rugs, pads (which we weren’t expecting at that price) and installed the stair runner perfectly in one hour. We are delighted with the results and the service and will certainly return soon for other rugs.

We’ve purchased from Carpet Palace several times in the past, but will never do so again. They have lost our business permanently; not because they can be rude or pushy (as other reviewers mention), but something much more severe.
Our more recent project involved a carpet installation that was installed but in an unsatisfactory manner. To summarize, they used multiple pieces of carpet on our runner to piece things together. We had expected it to be one continuous piece. The reason this is important is because using multiple pieces was the source of the problem — fraying edges after a couple weeks where the pieces were joined.
We asked them to come take a look. Steve showed up at our doorstep, angry, upset. He was rude from the moment he arrived. After coming in and denying there was an issue, he became more agitated and actually was screaming obscenities. Thank god our little kids were not home at the time. Steve eventually stormed out and slammed our front door on the way out. We have not heard from them since.
The combination of Steve’s unstable behavior and the fact that they won’t stand behind their work means buyer beware. While they may sometimes match price, you get what you pay for. In our case, poor workmanship, an unwillingness to do the right thing, and an angry, irate, unprofessional man in your home.
Our strong recommendation is to pay a little more and go somewhere else.

I live in Ch Chase and have been using Carpet Palace for 15+ years. This is a good local business run by individuals who know what they are doing. They are low key — not high pressure salesmen, and have the best knowledge of their products and will give you a lot of good options. They carry all the good brands and have no ties to any company, so they aren’t going pressure you to go with a particular brand. They will be brutally honest on the advantages/​disadvantages of specific carpet types or brands. They also have very very good installers, and always have delivered and installed as promised. Also very good at making custom area rugs to fit an odd shaped room. Prices are good, but even if I found a cheaper price elsewhere, I’d stick with this place — they are extremely reliable and will do a great job. We’ve had a lot of odd rooms that were difficult to install, and they really came through.
Lots of neighbors around here use them. If you are looking for a good carpet store that you can depend on for the long term, this is the place. Also, I’ve known the salesmen there — they are good people and have been there since day one. It’s always refreshing when you go back to a store and the salespeople remember you and your house and what carpet is already in it. Can’t do much better than that!

We used Carpet Palace for both our new home and to redo a condo. We got their name from our interior designer. Their advice was great, Ari quickly figured out my wife’s taste, offered us lots of options, and helped us choose carpets and rugs quickly. They installed them right on time, we had a tight schedule with the builder and they met all our requirements. Their work was very high quality. Yes, they can be a little abrupt but the place has high quality and reasonable prices and their service is great. You get the feel of an old fashioned family business.

Just went in there yesterday looking for help with a simple stair runner. The man said in a very rude fashion that they don’t do that, I would have to get a remnant and it would cost me at least $ 800! Walked out in 2 minutes! I will never go there again.

I just bought a new house in Bethesda and we waited way too long to decide to carpet the upstairs bedrooms. I went in on a Friday, picked out the exact carpet I wanted (Karpet King had the same carpet for $ 1 more per square foot and couldn’t have it delivered/​installed by the next week), and had the measurements done within the next 1 ½ hours. Although they could not make any promises that they would have it installed the next week, Alex expedited my order and had it installed by the next Thursday, all in time for my move on Friday. While I understand that some others have had a poor experience in customer service, my experience was quite the opposite. Carpet looks great! Would definitely use them again.

Rude! After ordering and processing my credit card, I asked how they bind the carpet. Apparently, I was not to ask questions. I was told to leave the store. Seriously. Stay away from these evil men!

I encountered the same rude man and received the same condescending treatment. I will never step foot in the place again. I left there and went to Karpet King and had an A+ experience. The lady who helped me there said she should write Carpet Palace a thank you note for all of the business!

Carpet Palace gets a big fat 0 for salesmanship.
When I walked into Carpet Palace it was as if I didn’t exist, 3 – 5 guys were hanging around in the center of the store but no one looked up or acknowledged the fact there was a customer. I went in to look at remnants all of which seemed very pricey compared to other stores I visited. After I was done looking a salesman finally came over to assist me. I was ready to politely leave realizing the store was out of my price range. The salesman insisted on showing me remnants that were «less expensive». After declining his selections due to price he asked my budget. When I told him, he said in a condescending tone: «You are not renting, the carpet, you are buying it».
Budget or not, I will not be buying carpet from Carpet Palace. I saw a better selection, much better prices and had a friendly salesman at Carpet One in Beltsville.

Poor customer service.
My realtor recommended Carpet Palace in Bethesda. My boyfriend and I walked in and stood around for a while until the owner came up to us and said he was too busy to help because he had designers he needed to tend to. We then asked to just see some examples and right away were brought to the cheaper quality because from our young looks, he assumed we did not have a large budget. He then left us while he sorted through his mail. We overall did not appreciate his attitude and he obviously did not care for our business. Which is too bad — because though we were wearing flipflops and look young — we did have a big budget and are looking for high quality. The store is also unorganized and dirty. Shop elsewhere!

My husband and I went in to the store to pick out carpet for a significant renovation project in our home here in DC. The salesman was the rudest, most unhelpful and condescending person we have ever encountered in a store EVER! My husband is an architect and often sends clients to various stores to pick out selections for their projects. He most certainly would never, ever send anyone there. We had just come from Architectural Tile up the street in Bethesda and Union Hardware as well and spent a combined amount of about $ 25,000 dollars and working with two incredibly helpful salespeople at both places. We were prepared to finish our project by attempting to pick out some carpet to finalize our project. Well, I would not ever purchase anything from Carpet Palace based on the treatment we received there today. He who we believe was an owner was arrogant and barely interested on us. And what a waste of our time. Also, it was a Saturday and no one was in the store but us! DO NOT GO EVER! And just a final aside we are the nicest people to work with and not difficult or demanding in any way!!! Carpet Palace is lucky to have any sales these days if they treat people in such a manner.

We’ve hired Carpet Palace twice to do carpet work in our home. The first time was after a flooding incident in our basement that left our carpet there ruined, some years ago. Carpet Palace came around, did an estimate, and within a week or so had guys over installing the new carpet. The second time around was today, when we got new carpet installed in our den. The quality of the carpet is good, and installation didn’t take more than a couple of hours at most. The workers were very good, and didn’t spend a lot of time lollygagging and talking. They came in and did their job and went out, no fuss. They also moved around this big bookshelf we have, which was great (so the carpet would reach everywhere). It was also a lot cheaper than getting hardwood flooring (about $ 600 or $ 700 for carpeting, compared to $ 2500 for the cheapest wood, $ 3200 for bamboo). I would definitely recommend these folks for anyone who needs carpeting.
