Very tasty and unique option for lunch. Great price. Small parking lot. Served within 5 minutes. We each ordered a quarter of dark chicken. It was moist, perfectly cooked, with a slightly crispy skin(not like it sat in its own juices too long). Many sides to choose from. Yuca(like a tastier french fry) was best. We also enjoyed cucumber salad and rice and black beans. A plate came with 2 sides for only $ 8. Amazing price! Bottle/can drinks only, but good choices, like Honest Tea. Friendly service. Clean enough. Small seating area, maybe 15 seats total, so no large groups. Tiny parking lot with 8 spots. Worth skipping the chains and trying this place out.

A hidden Gem is right! Enjoyed their ¼ white roasted chicken meat with black beans/rice and fried plantains. Chicken was juicy and full of flavor and spicy. Seating is tight and the close quarters made the food more inviting with the table arrangements. Costumer service was on point like the chicken. Only complaint is the cook turned off the music And my song El Perdon was playing! Keep the music playing…

Straight ‘clean’ chicken that’s prepared in a basic way, but don’t let that fool you into believing that means boring. It’s basic done right — ingredients are fresh and the chicken is pure.

This is a great hole in the wall type place. Pretty decent prices despite being raised a little over the past few years. I’ve really only stuck with one thing on the menu and thats the ¼ White Chicken with mac n cheese on the side. Can’t beat that! This is definitely a good lunch place for the size portion you get since you won’t walk away stuffed but definitely not feeling like you need more.

This place is really a great find for the 9−5er in Bethesda. Chicken was very tender and well seasoned, sides are great(the Yuka is a must-have), and service is very efficient. I will certainly be back!

This is a great little chicken place. I went there yesterday for a quick dinner and was impressed. The yucca fries were the best! Perhaps yucca fries are hard to mess up, but these were perfectly crispy and chewy. Had ¼ dark meat and side salad too. The chicken was pretty good. Perhaps the chicken was a little small but it was tasty. The salad was very fresh. I would love to go back to this place!

A gem in Bethesda for lunch. Authentic food which is very good and fresh, service is quick and the staff is helpful. Will be going to this place as long as I’m working in bethesda. I recommend getting the white chicken with rice and beans and corn pico. If you like spicy sauce get some extra green sauces, they add Tons of flavor and kick.

My girlfriend just moved to Bethesda so we are working on checking out the local eats. Chicken on the Run is exactly what I look for in quick/cheap eats! I went with the ¼ dark meat which came with two sides(I chose plantains and rice/beans). I don’t know that I have ever had chicken so tender, moist, and flavorful. The sides were also incredible! Definitely looking forward to more trips back to check out the other sides and get my fix of some delicious chicken.

Friday afternoon, we were looking for a place to have lunch and not too expensive. I came across this place on Unilocal.Overall looks like a regular joint from the outside. there’s free parking which is very convenient and Latin music. I ordered ¼ white chicken with coleslaw and fries. The chicken was amazingly delicious, it was soft on the inside and smoked on the outside. The sides were great too, I don’t recommend the Plantain. Would definitely recommend to a friend about this place.

The customer service here is TERRIBLE. The woman who serves as the cashier is rude and inappropriate. They rush you, do not listen and get testy when you make attempts to try to get past the language barrier. I ordered here for my job(catering) and the order was not only 45 minutes late but when I called to check on the status I was hung up on and not given any indication of when my order would arrive. I walked over to check on the status since she kept hanging up on me and was called a pootah as she called the driver to see where my catering order was. I guess she thought I didn’t understand. I let her know that I did understand while keeping it classy. I would not recommend this hole in the wall.

I’ve been coming here for years, and think they deserve another good rating. The chicken is great, but what really makes them stand out above all of the other pollo joints in the DC metro area is their sides. The mash potato, coleslaw, rice & beans, etc are all easy winners. When I eat here, it is truly a complete meal where everything tastes great, as opposed to other places which usually have good chicken but mediocre sides at best. Easily one of the few decent gems in Bethesda.

Horrible Customer Service! It wasn’t the fact that they arrived for an office delivery 45 minutes late. It wasn’t that most of the food was cold. It was the fact that the cashier called one of our colleagues a female dog in Spanish. It was the fact that when they showed up late, they showed up with a attitude. After I stated that they were in fact late, he first lied to me and said that we ordered for 12:30. Well maybe so(I don’t know how you get 12:30 from«noon»), but when I continued, his only response was«I can take the food back». That is the poorest excuse for customer service. If the owner actually reads these, maybe a good idea to find good help. If you condone this, your space will be empty soon, because customer service drives business. Your chicken is not the best in the world. It is good, but not good enough for repeat business. You could take a few lessons in customer service from M&N’s across the street. I will never order from your place of business again.

Beware, the cashier will cheat you at lunchtime. She short changed me 10 $ with a long line behind me. Who wants to argue and hold up Aline at lunchtime? Been here 3 times. Food is ok, definitely not the best Peruvian. Will not be coming again to this sketchy joint

I am writing an update due to the lack of customer service I’ve experienced recently. The food might be good, but the customer service is terrible and I can no longer support this business. After my first trip about two weeks later I went alone and was left with a bad taste. First of all, I witnessed the cashier lady be very snappy and rude to a paying customer after she charged him twice. Instead of issuing a refund immediately, she went back and forth with the customer instead of admitting to her mistake. First rule in customer service is «the customer is always right» she eventually refunded the man who told her he only ordered one meal. Then once it was my turn to order she was polite but my bad customer service experience was with the server. I asked for hot fries and got an attitude. He acted like he didn’t understand what I was asking and snatched my box from me. He did replace my fries though. Now on for today. 5÷5÷15; my company had ordered catering from them. COTR told us they would arrive at 12. 15 min and no order. A co-worker checks and the front cashier lady was very rude and hung up on her. My co-worker calls back and the lady just wouldn’t answer. Eventually the food came about 30 – 40 min late.

Good, convenient meal to go! Best part is their moist, fall-off-the-bone chicken at a reasonable price — their whole chicken meal for 4 is under $ 25. In addition to the whole chicken, the sides of mashed potatoes, plantains, cole slaw and a nice big bag of yuca were very good. They also throw in flour tortillas. A bit of a carb overload, but, in a good way. i would have liked to see a few more vegetable options. They have a house salad, but, it’s served with Italian dressing? Was hoping for something Limey and Peruvian, but, Italian at a Peruvian place? No thanks. Everything else tasted delicious. Their green and yellow sauces were yummy! Especially loved the green(spicy jalapeño!).

Great quarter chicken. I had the dark meat. I find that white meat oftentimes comes out too dry. It was delicious! The salad was decent too. The mashed potatoes were awesome, I ate too much of it. Next time I will probably get a half chicken since I ended up eating a bunch of my fiancé’s meal: P I liked the mayo dipping sauce. Tasted great with everything including the mashed potatoes. Great price for a yummy meal!

This place will seriously challenge even the most ardent members of the clean-plate club. For just under $ 8, you can get a ¼ of a chicken and two sides. Though they offer a number of healthier sounding options, I couldn’t pass up the fried yucca and sweet plantains to accompany my meat. After paying at the counter and waiting for my number to be called, I was presented with a plate literally overflowing with delicious food and two small containers of sauce, a spiced mayo-like orange sauce and a spicy and flavorful chunky green sauce. The chicken is moist and flavorful throughout, and the two sauces add extra zing. I lucked out and got a fresh batch of friend yucca that was crispy and perfect. The plantains were extra sweet and made a great dessert-like finish to my meal. Though takeout seems to the be the way to go here because the space inside is quite small, there were plenty of seats at a little bar area and a few tables wedged inside the tight space. I’m glad I found this spot for a cheap and delicious lunch in the Bethesda area.

Chicken on the Run isn’t a Peruvian place with an extensive menu; it’s just damn good chicken. I got the ¼ quarter chicken, dark meat, which was a good lunch size. You have to eat the skin because it’s spicy? Rice and beans were so flavorful. Yuca was fried nicely and not too greasy. The orange mayo sauce that went with it wasn’t to die for but the aji verde was so awesome. All this for less than $ 10. Food comes out insanely fast. I ordered, walked to my seat, and my food was ready before I was even able to settle into my seat.
