Ordered the Caesar salad w/grilled chicken. I was told it’s about a 5 min wait. It was well worth it. Extremely large serving for the money and a large chicken breast grilled just right. The other salads coming out were even larger. The only complaint was the size of the plate which is a good problem. If you are not real hungry, you may want to order it to go so it comes in the closable to go container.

J chow’s doesn’t belong in a food court; it’s a class above the others. It’s chicken salad is perfect, and its prices are cheap compared to other overpriced food court fare. A must try.

Formally at white flint for over 30 years, I am SO Happy to see Mr. Chow at Montgomery Mall. My mother and I have been getting the delectable«California Chicken Salad» since I was a little girl. The recipe has maintained its consistently delish and healthy flavor. Highly recommend this place amongst it’s alternatives at the eatery.

Don’t let the haters get you down, J Chow’s. I remember way back when White Flint mall was a bustling mall with fashion shows and lots of stores and a J Chow’s in the food court, which has its own cult following. My grandmother was always a fan and I remember shopping with her and always opting for something other than a plain ol’ salad with some weird styrofoamy noodles and sweet-ish tasting chicken. Now, in 2015, White Flint Mall is gone, I’m a grown up, and J Chow’s is in the amazingly booming and awesome Montgomery Mall. The weird styrofoamy noodles are now crisp rice noodles, which add crunch and texture to the salad. The weird sweetish chicken is now a tender and perfectly marinated star in the salad. The accompanying Ak Mak crackers lend their sesame full flavor to the meal. And the slightly tangy vinaigrette is refreshing and perfect. What was once a gross, bring meal to a kid who knew nothing about food, is now a light but satisfying meal for a mama on the go, who wants something wholesome and filling, in a mall food court full of fast food and bad choices. Keep doing what you’re doing, J Chow’s. It’s worked for years, and it’s still working.

I’ve been a fan of J Chow’s for decades. DECADES! Going all the way back to when they were in(the now defunct) White Flint Mall, J. Chow’s Chicken, Ribs & Salads has been a favorite of mine and my family’s forever. Always greeted with a smile, the people behind the counter are always friendly. The mom and son team always get my order and always know what I’m ordering before I order it. Just about everything they have is good. My favorite is the California Chicken Salad. It’s always fresh and and loaded with marinated chicken and noodles. Their taco salad is good and their ribs are awesome as well. Overall, I recommend J. Chow’s to everyone! Good food, good service, what else could you ask for?

This place used to be at White Flint Mall for decades. I highly recommend the California Chicken salad. It looks like a boring salad with just lettuce and chicken but it’s packed with flavor. It’s a great choice if you want a healthier and light lunch or dinner. Their chicken platters are full of flavor as well but can be pricey for what you get.

As another reviewer mentioned, this place got an upgrade from the Wheaton Mall and has the best chicken salad you’ll ever try: the California chicken. Don’t be turned off by to romaine lettuce. It is the perfect vessel to their shredded, tender, flavorful chicken and added enough juiciness and crunch to every bite. Each salad so topped with crispy noodles and you get a sesame cracker. I always ask for extra dressing. J. Chow has been an institution for years and are famous for this one dish. If you’re looking for a healthy, flavorful salad to complement your shopping day(not some huge meal that’s going to weigh you down), give them a try and you won’t be disappointed!

This place is great! They make the best grilled chicken sandwich ever and the employees are polite and professional. Definitely do recommend this place!

The Chicken California Salad was horrible. I do not recommend it at all– it is just iceberg lettuce with shredded chicken and terrible dressing. I really do not waste food, and I tried to force myself to eat it, but I really could not.

Ordered a California Chicken Salad because it looked good on the picture. Well, this was probably the most uninspired salad I ever had. A huge pile of tasteless shredded lettuce, with some weird tasting chicken pieces and a little portion of weak tasting dressing(that is their one-fits-all-dressing for all their salads). When I pointed this out to the staff at the register, his unsmiling resonse was: please take it to the trash. This is sure where it belonged.

This place used to be a small hole in the wall in White Flint mall’s eatery and now they’ve moved to the posh newly renovated Montgomery Mall eatery. The food has not changed. Their classic«chicken salad» is still the star of this restaurant. I’ve been eating this salad for over 20 years and it is always perfect. It’s light and fresh and I have no idea how they cook their chicken but it’s flavor cannot be mimicked.

BEST vegetarian chillie!!! They are little scrooge on bread though. I wasn’t that hungry but couldn’t stop eating… quantity was good too.

I ordered the chicken Caesar salad here. I waited at the counter for at least 10 minutes before I finally got my food. I didn’t like that they put this huge pile of salad on a tiny plate– a bowl would’ve been easier to mix the dressing in. Not the worst salad I’ve ever eaten, but certainly not the best. The grilled chicken wasn’t bad, but the dressing tasted like watered down ranch dressing, and the two sesame crackers that came with it were stale. My friend ordered a chicken BBQ sandwich. Not sure what was on the bun, but it definitely wasn’t chicken. It was pink colored– it looked like pork or even salmon. I was pretty hungry, so I would’ve been able to finish the salad, but halfway through I found a thick black hair in it(did not belong to me). Gross. After that we both tossed our half eaten lunches in the trash. My first and last time ordering lunch here.

I love the Chinese chicken salad. The chicken is tender and has a delightful flavor. I don’t know what they add to the chicken when they cook it, but it is so good that I am addicted to the taste. The crunchy noodles that they add on top adds just the right amount of crisp to the salad. There are scallions in the salad that make it flavorful, but it does not feel overdone. There is an oil based Italian dressing or my personal choice a tangy non fat French dressing. I adore the sesame crackers that accompany the salad. The staff is friendly and quick. I usually pop in for a salad to take with me. It is a guilt free lunch or dinner that satisfies the customer. The prices are reasonable and they have a variety of menu options to chose from. I always swear that I am going to try something new, but I succumb to my old favorite. So, if you are wandering around Montgomery Mall stop by and I am sure it will become your new favorite restaurant.

At the food court again and I decided to check out chows for the first time. They are fast. It only took a minute to get my order ready, which makes me question the freshness. In spite of this I enjoyed my meal. Spent 15 bucks on me and my girlfriend and we both left very satisfied. I didn’t think that the ribs or the chicken were anything special, but the pecan pie was pretty darn good. The owner here is a very nice guy too, I will be back once I get another craving for some BBQ

Awesome food, owned by taiwanese people. The food is more on the healthy side. Originally opened at white flint mall eatery but when it shut down it came over to Montgomery mall. The salads are where its at here supposedly but I ordered chicken. Definitely will be back to try more items, and maybe some desserts that they have in the display case.

I was recently turned on to their light fluffy cloud of Asian chicken salad. I’ve deduced it’s their sweet chicken meat that makes the empty crunches of iceberg lettuce super delicioso! I’m always eyeballing their desserts but thankfully will-power usually prevails!(that is until I pass Auntie Annie’s… DOH. *shakes fist*) The owners are super cute and always really nice. It’s a refreshing change to fatty mall food so I’m grateful for the option :)

I have been eating at j chows since it was located at white flint mall. While I have occasionally deviated from my regular order, I come here for the Chinese chicken salad. Lettuce, well marinated chicken. Sesame seeds, crispy noodles and a tangy dressing all for about $ 6? Why yes, I’ll take 3, one for now, two for later. You also can’t go wrong with the lemon chicken and ribs. If you get a couple salads to go, ask for extra noodles, though it now costs $ 0.35. I’m ok with the charge as long as they keep serving this salad.

I found myself wandering the Montgomery Mall food court, trying not to be seduced by the multitude of unhealthy eating options so that I could make up for feasting on Christmas day. And there really are not many healthy options in the food court — I was glad for J Chow’s. For just under eight dollars, I got half of a BBQ chicken, a baked potato, steamed veggies, and apple sauce — a great, lean meal for an affordable price. Everything tasted very fresh, even their chunky apple sauce. I hope they stick around, as it did not seem like they had a ton of business and the food came out kind of slowly, but in an area full of grease and fried foods, J Chow’s is a gem and beacon of healthiness, and I hope to come back here again.
