Laugh Riot was a fantastic affordable night out in Bethesda! You really can’t beat the $ 10 per person price tag. It was located in the«basement» of the hotel and the tables were set up in in a long l with chairs on both sides, there was zero to NO room at all. I was essentially sitting in the man’s lap directly in front and behind me. That was awful! The space itself is very tiny. I did read up on the event beforehand so I knew that it was a pretty tight squeeze. There are«Rules» posted at every table. I read them over on the website as well as while sitting waiting for the show to begin. It was almost overkill with the rules. I understand that they need to be there, however it was comical that I felt that if i broke the rules I would get sent in a corner or thrown a detention. We’re all adults that attend, post them before walking in and leave it at that :) There is no food served but you have the opportunity to bring take out in. There is a cash bar outside of the show. The cash bar had limited amount of alcohol available, so nothing to my liking, but it was perfect for the show! — — THESHOW. The comedians both local and from afar were fabulous! I can’t say it enough, they were funny, well versed and flat out funny. The show flowed well, the comedians kept the crowd engaged and laughing. The MC was great, it really was a fantastic show. *THENEGATIVE* PARKING! … ouch. The Hyatt has a garage and it cost us 12 $ to park there for the three hour show… no voucher, no validated parking… nope. I’ll park on the street and walk next time.

First timer last night! Yes, a relatively small meeting room in the basement of the Hyatt is an unusual venue, but we were warmly welcomed and soon realized we weren’t there for a human resources training seminar. My friends and I went to see the always funny Rahmein Mustafavi and were thrilled to discover two new(to us) comics, Tim Miller and Matt Kazam. Each one of them was in top form and kept us laughing for 2 hours. We will definitely be back and hope the level of comedic talent remains as high as it was last night.

The Laugh Riot at the Hyatt on Saturday nights is Bethesda’s best kept secret. I organized a large group of friends to go to the show for my boyfriend’s birthday and we all had a blast! The place was packed in a good way and the room was small enough that everyone felt part of the show. The lineup of comedians was great — there were 2 headliners who were hilarious and 2 newer comedians who had short performances and also did well. The comedians were engaging with the crowd which represented all ages groups. My group of friends are in their mid 20s and we had an awesome time; there were also plenty of older people who also seemed to enjoy the show. I highly recommend spending a night in Bethesda at the Laugh Riot!

Went for my birthday last weekend with a three other couples; perfect way to spend the night and celebrate. Comics were great(even had a first timer on stage who did pretty good); overall we had 5 comics with a good mix of personalities and routines. For $ 10, you can’t beat it. We had a room at the Hyatt for the night, so we did drinks and dinner afterwards… hands down a great night overall.

Laugh Riot is the best entertainment deal in the area. The organizers run several Open Mic nights around town, so you get the best of local talent, an up and comer working the travel circuit, and sometimes an early adopter trying his fresh approach. Know any good jokes? They hold a joke contest at the end with a prize, plus other goodies. My wife and I regularly bring friends here and we always leave smiling. Food? Order take our from the restaurant upstairs. Drink? They have a bar set up right out the door.

I was in DC visiting on of my gal pals and I really wanted to see a comedy show. Comedy show? At a hotel? Whhhhaattt? I was thinking that it wasn’t going to be good or rather bland. You will especially think this when you walk into the hotel and down into the small convention room. There are long tables and chairs that align the table. I was like«seriously??». HOWEVER, I WASWRONG! THEYHADHILARIOUSCOMEDIANS! If I lived here I would go every Saturday haha! Seriously. I would! There is a cash bar, however, I went upstairs to the main lobby and order a drink at the bar and brought it back down. It a cheaper alternative to the cash bar and I know many people don’t really carry cash anymore, so keep in mind, you can go upstairs and get taken care of right at the top of the escalator. :) Little tip! Great time. I recommend this if you are in the area!!!

PERFECT place to go on a Saturday night with your significant other or a large group of your closest friends. $ 10 cover. No food/drink min. and the comedy is great! My reason for 4 stars is because I’ve been a few times and the comedians kinda joked about the same thing — And we’ve gone weeks apart. Not too sure about comedy or how they recycle their jokes but I wasn’t to happy about paying for the same jokes. Overall this is the place to go to laugh on a Saturday night if you want to stay in Maryland.

Fun, local, comedy club in a perfectly convenient location for Metro or parking. Went for the first time last night, and, even though one surprising heckler interfered with Headliner David George a bit, it was a super program, and the price is sure right. Drinks are overpriced, and you can’t order food, but there are plenty of tables up front, and you can bring in dinner as long as you finish before the act begins at 8:00.

Loved it. The MC, feature and headliner were all funny. They have a «new face» 5min act too. 10 $ No drink minimum. I’ll be back soon

The acts can be sort of hit or miss, but for $ 10, what do you have to lose? And you’re likely to get at least one really good act in a shoes or several! We’ve been here several times now and it’s an awesome way to spend a Saturday night. Highly recommend it!

I went with friends a few weekends ago and had a wonderful time. The comics were certainly entertaining and the cover charge was commensurate to two hours of entertainment. I’d have spent the same, if not more, at the movies and would probably have been less entertained. The bar is run by the hotel and is therefore pricey, so I’d recommend dinner and drinks either before or after the show. I still bought a drink while at the Laugh Riot and didn’t feel like the price of the beer wasn’t worth spending while laughing for two hours. I had a great time, laughed a lot, seating was plentiful, parking was easy, and would certainly go again in a heart beat. How often can you say that about an outing on a Saturday night in the DC area?

Looking for top-shelf entertainment at a bargain basement price? There are no waiters, food or drink service. However, there is wet bar where you can buy wine, beer, soda, bottled water and chips. The prices at the bar are overpriced, but not anymore overpriced than any other comedy club… I think for a bottled water and a glass of red wine I paid $ 12 with tip. That’s the bad news. The good news, is the comedy acts, especially the club’s regular MC, was as good as you’ll find anywhere. The cover of $ 10 was CHEAP for the quality of entertainment, which seemed too good to be playing in such a small obscure space… down the elevator, take a left… down the hall, past other conferences that are going on, then another 50ft… see the small amatuerish hand written sign… lol. But my wife and I laughed non-stop. Again, the quality of performers; the headliner was Keith Albertstadt(regular writer for SNL, and circuit headliner and once on David Letteman )…was as good or better than what we’ve experienced at The DC improv. Additionally, there is a Morton’s Steak House upstairs, so you can a make a complete night of it at the one location within the Hyatt. If you’re a couple on a budget and want to smuggle in your own drink and muchies, park at one of the Bethesda garages or take the Metro, you’re good to go for $ 30 for two max. If you’re not strapped, steak, crabcake dinner, two drinks(@ Morton’s)…$ 10×2 comedy club cover, and another round at the wetbar, valet parking(tips)…$ 120 will do it. It was a wonderful evening… and rare, that it didn’t cost a fortune.

This was a lot of fun! We saw 5 comics perform with an outstanding host. The venue is kinda small, but we went the Saturday after Thanksgiving, so maybe fewer come normally. Also the bar is REALLY expensive($ 4 for a soda). You can bring your own food and nonalcoholic beverages. Make sure to have cash for the door and the bar. Overall really funny.
