Stride Rite

AWFUL customer service. The lady working today when I went in just now. Not only did she not greet me at all in an otherwise empty store. She was not helpful when I asked her to show me what I was looking for and refused to measure my sons foot while he was in his stroller. I will be going to Nordstrom for my needs. This store is awful.

There isn’t much to choose from but these shoes are great for little baby-​toddler feet. They are also decent prices most of my son’s first shoes were from here and he was able to wear them outside and even to a wedding. Now that my son is older and running we have ventured to other shoe stores. This store in particular is smaller than other locations so if you’re looking for more selections check out other Stride Rite stores or online.

Not a huge selection, but for what we needed (suede buck uniform shoes) it was perfect. They also had a good buy one get one ½ off special which was great because you can get the uniform shoes + some weekend shoes for a reasonable price. The quality is good and the shoes look age appropriate, not gharish or like some of these shoes that look like 20 year old streetwalker shoes made for 5 year olds. As a parent, I appreciate stores that don’t force me to veto ½ of the items in them.
Now, the real reason Stride Rite gets the 4 stars (and I’d give them 5 if they just had a slightly larger big kids collection) is the customer service. We went in at the thick of back to school rush. The place was packed and there was only one employee there. I thought it was going to be a nightmare, but she was awesome. She multitasked and was able to carefully measure and get multiple people helped at once without anyone feeling rushed or overlooked. She did a great job of vetoing a pair of shoes that my daughter clearly loved the look of but really did not fit her well in the forefoot. And then when they were out of the size we needed in the uniform shoe, she called multiple stores to track down a pair and have them shipped (for free) to our house. Great customer service all around. And she somehow managed to keep the store looking tidy during all of this as several families with kids under 5 tried very hard to rip it apart! Lifetime customer due to this employee.
