Machs Gute Pub and Grille

Very casual atmosphere, somewhat limited menu.
Burger portions I feel are too small and too big– wonder why they chose such oz portions.
Watched a flyers game on their big screen, although it was malfunctioning most of the game.
Very friendly waitress.

Food was okay. Place was okay. Parking was good. Prices higher than expected for a single dollar sign on the reviews.

Great food, great service! If you don’t know about the Gute — you are missing out. They have the best wings in the valley.

Went there tonight for the first time. Was very impressed by the food and the service. We live down the street and wanted to try it for awhile. Glad we did. We will be back tomorrow for more wings! Sweet and spicy were delish!

Our first choice had an hour an a half wait for a table so we decided to try the Gute! So glad we did, got seated in 5 min. Ordered wings, a burger and a Reuben made with turkey (called a Rachel) and pierogies. Everything was exactly the way we ordered, hot and tasted fantastic. Our server, Krista, made our date night great. We will be back!

The three cheese 12 ounce burger was delicious. The best burger I had at a local restaurant and pub. Will return again. The steak sandwiches look good also.

Awesome… I moved to area from an area which had great wings… And could not resist trying this place based on reviews. We were not disappointed… Wings were crispy with the great sauce and the right amount of heat. The tacos where also very good and it was taco night when we came so I have never seen a the amount of food for 3.95… Home made shell fresh taste… Cheese steak was huge… Waitress was friendly and attentive… Absolutely no complaints.
If your near here make a trip to this hidden gem.

The Gute is a hometown favorite, you really can’t go wrong! I also recommend the Gute to colleagues traveling from out of town as well, they always report back with great reviews. The prices are super reasonable and the quality is always good! This isn’t a fine dining restaurant, they offer the usual pub food menu… Their burgers are amazing and the tacos are also a fan favorite. I enjoy wing night on Thursdays and my go to is a salad with grilled chicken with their wing sauces on the side. Yummmm! The bar is always rotating their drafts as well. George, Lou and Peter (usually always working) are awesome and almost all of the staff are super friendly. Great atmosphere to watch games and once the weather warms up the back porch is always a fun hangout!
The Gute is definitely worth a stop if you are in the BETHLEHEM area, you will enter as guests and leave as friends of the Gute for sure! Enjoy!

The pub is warm and inviting. Tons of tv’s and tables to hang out with friends or family. I’ve had the burgers and they are amazing!

Love this little gem! I can’t believe that we’ve lived in Bethlehem over a decade without trying it. It’s a great atmosphere, that we’re comfortable enough bringing our kids to. Really nice people run it, and their staff is friendly. BEST burger (for $ 5!!) in Bethlehem, hands down. We had to eat at Red Robin this week, where my husband ordered a burger. He said it was nowhere near the quality and flavor of a Gute burger, and more than twice the price. It’s our go-​to when mama-doesn’t-feel-like-cookin’!

We came in for a quick lunch and were surprised how good the food was. We had wings which were great, French onion soup, kids hamburger and chicken Caesar salad. It was all very good. The service was just average.

Fantastic food and a friendly staff. Great selection of beer. Try out the gute burger and their spinach dip. Can’t go wrong! Love coming here !

Been here a few times before. It’s ALWAYS packed. Being rated four stars, I can see why.
Always come for drinks, never for food. Giving it a whirl. Trying the chicken cheese steak (buffalized).
I finished half of the buffalo chicken cheese steak. Looking forward to when my hunger comes back so I can finish the rest of it. It was perfect. Onions, American cheese, chicken, and buffalo sauce. How could you go wrong?

My wife and I both felt ill after eating burgers. Limited menu. Average beer. Really a bar not a pub or restaurant.

I hadn’t been in a while, so I decided to stop in today. The burger was delicious and the food came out much quicker than I had anticipated. The prices here are amazing! You can barely get a fast food burger for the same price these days! Keep it up, Machs Gute!

The bar scene is Bethlehem is crowded. As a result, there are many different establishments offering divergent options with respect to food, drink, and atmosphere. Due to the abundance of different options, many of these bars often face periodic identity crises as they decided if they are a bar, nightclub, restaurant, or some combination. Of all of these bars, the Machs Gute is one of the few places in the Lehigh Valley that can actually accommodate everyone from old to young and is more than happing being a hybrid neighborhood bar and restaurant.
The Machs Gute has been a staple in Bethlehem for many years. The current institution is a remodeled version of a smaller bar of the same name that used to exist in half of the current bar. On any given day you will find the Machs Gute staffed by family and close friends. It is within the staff that the Machs Gute finds most of its endearing qualities. The staff is actually happy to have you there and wants to make sure that you are satisfied with your visit. The bar and wait staff are always professional and have continually provided a high level of attention.
Above all else the Machs Gute is a bar. The drink selection is good. They have a rotating array of beers on tap and a wide selection of beers by the bottle. If you are getting take out, you can purchase six packs to go. Beyond beer, I have always had good strong drinks served at the Gute and the staff behind the bar has been helpful. In addition, the Gute has drink specials that rotate depending on the season and occasion. The prices have always been competitive.
The food at the Machs Gute is standard bar food. They feature the typical cheese steaks, burgers, salads, and other fried foods. The cheese steaks (beef/​chicken) are some of the best around. They are overflowing and are always served on fresh rolls. The burgers are made fresh to order and come in a wide range of sizes. The fries are always crispy.
The Machs Gute is a modern bar that stays true to its local roots. In the spring, summer, and fall the Gute has a great outdoor patio. The staff is friendly, the environment is clean, and it is a good place to frequent to grab affordable food and drinks.

Love this place. Exceptionally warm, attentive & friendly service from a largely family-​run staff. 3 large screen TV’s, a small patio out back & your choice of bar or table seating inside. It’s clean, comfortable & priced reasonably. The kitchen is incredibly consistent and they do a nice job rotating the beers on tap… always a good selection + plenty of options.
Not so much a college crowd at all around lunch time or early evening.
Personal faves on the food side: Burgers, very unique tacos, chicken cheesesteak and my biggest vice is probably the Sweet ‘n’ Spicy wings. Fabulous.

Machs is small, but has a classy feel which you won’t get from most of the college bars around Bethlehem.
Good beer selection, not too loud, a few strategically positioned tvs, daily events like trivia (thursday), decent food and beer prices. This is a solid bar, but unfortunately it is a bit of a hike from the rest of the north side restaurants.
Keep in mind if you are coming here for the first time, the street is 1-​way!
