It is what it is, a dive bar that is also a wonderful place to hear music and if you are a drinker, to hang out. Most place like this are either gone or cater to older, broken down men but this place thrives as it attracts both a YOUNG and older clientele and everyone gets along. I go for open mic night and am not a drinker and so yes, it would be nice if they served food, even some basics like nacho chips would be great. The bartenders are friendly and happily give me me my club soda with lime.

Mr. Beery’s is a very special place, it’s a diamond in the rough. Located on scenic Hempstead turnpike, it has upscale craft beers and spirits, and a wonderful ambiance. Steve is a very philanthropic man-he supports many important causes-and I think he might be running for office soon…

I have driven past Mr. Beery’s since I was a kid. I always saw the sign advertising how early they opened, and that ridiculous cartoon logo, and thought«What a dump, I’m never going there!» Lo and behold eventually my friends’ band was playing there, so we went. I was so surprised! This place is a no-frills(well I expected THAT) bar with a surprisingly good sound system, a stage for when bands play, and a lot of space. It was much bigger than I thought it would be, and you can park or hang out in the back under a tent and buy dirty meat from a dirty winnebago, good stuff. We had a great time, and came back a few weeks later to play in their open mic. We met a bunch of great people trying to promote their music, and had a nice chat with the sound guy.

Über bummed that I currently live in Jersey City and no longer in Queens or on Long island. So many fond memories of being at Beery’s and seeing friend’s bands, or hearing new bands for the first time and watching people get tipsy and finally have the courage to dance their hearts out. Yeah, yeah… that was even me. There are some incredible bartenders there that will always make you feel well taken care of, and sometimes I admit it would get insanely loud in there and hard to hear with the music playing, but if you’re having fun and dancing with your friends… does that really matter?

Oh my gosh I love this place coming here for years! They have great beers on tap wonderful bartenders and really funny events. Great sense of humor for a local dive bar. You always feel at home. They have good hours as in open all the time and a pool table. A great way to spend an afternoon!

I love Mr. Beery’s! Always a good crowd and the bartenders are always cool. Great place to just relax, drink and listen to some good music when they have live bands.

Went in to have a little drink with a couple of friends had a couple of shots got a Hennessy with coke an it felt like it was watered down so I ended up drink beer the rest of the night. The service was okay use to the bartender being more active with customers, place was nice and clean but cheating the customers not right.

Beery’s is a great dive bar with friendly bartenders and good music. Only drawback is they don’t have a kitchen but they do have a food truck a couple nights a week. Definitely some interesting characters at this place.

This is a definite dive bar. Some interesting characters come out to Beerys. If this place didn’t have my friends bands play it would be 1 – 2 stars. The beer selection is minimal, but the bartenders are actually very attentive and nice. The place is dated and grungy. If you come to see a friends band and go with friends you’ll have fun. The place is tiny and when it gets packed be prepared to be hot, very hot.

Honestly, the fact that this place is Unilocaled at 4+ stars has to be the biggest inside joke on Long Island. A joke I just don’t get. Dirty, creepy, attracts all the people you don’t wanna sit next to at a bar. Just. Dont. Go. Seriously.

Best bar on Long Island, very good beers. Lots of deep stuff, just not stuff you can pick up at any beer distributor; also all of the bartenders know what they’re taking about.

This is and will always be my dive bar on Long Island… Hands Down! When you want to drink a beer with REAL people with no attitudes and NO snobs, NO hipsters, just REAL people that drink REAL beer, then look no further! Great staff, owner, and of course once of the best beer selections for a bar on the island! I grew up with this place in my hometown, moved a state away, and could still find myself at Mr. Beery’s once a month… Now, I live back on Long Island and find myself calling Mr. Beery’s home all over again, with only a 15 minutes drive! Every neighborhood bar should be like Mr. Beery’s!

Really dig this place! Great draft beer selections, friendly + fun staff & cool vibe. The owner is a huge music fan & actually books some decent bands… a real rarity, unfortunately, in Nassau County these days. The open mic is very good. Love the relaxed and warm atmosphere. Only wish I knew about it when I lived in the area, but it’s always a treat whenever I can get there these days.

I LOVEBEERYS! So many long, awesome nights at Open Mic(Thursday) and shows. Mr. Beerys always has an amazing beer selection, and how can you beat a $ 4 beer of the week? The staff is incredible, some of the nicest bartenders I’ve had the pleasure of knowing. The ten-ski is always fun to share with friends(or a friend… or just keep for yourself). I’ve made awesome friends(and found bandmates!) at Beerys, and it will always be close to my heart.

I don’t like beer, but I love Mr Beery’s! I used to go here for shows. They have this ingenious piece of crap murphy-bed of a stage in the back that folds down from the wall, and they’re smart enough to keep a couple of popular liquors in stock for jerks like me who make such generalized statements as «I dunno, I just hate beer!» It was just such a statement that made the bartender spring into action. He asked me what it was that I didn’t like about beer. I told him as best as I could and he sussed out that it is actually hops, specifically, that I don’t have a taste for. He had me try two beers that had little to no hoppy taste and lo and behold! I. Liked. A beer. It was a freakin miracle and now I have no doubts that they know their stuff. So cheers, Mr Beery’s! It’s a great little dive and I definitely recommend it, especially if you’re actually a fan of beer.

It’s a bit dive-y but their beer selection is pretty awesome and they’ve always got a good local band playing. Come for the beer, stay for the beer and music. Once you have enough of both it won’t bother you so much that the place seems a bit dirty, lol.

Whats that your looking for live Indy Music? Oh and some really great Beer? A place that feels like cheers where the owner will come and have a drink with you and make you feel right at home? WELLTHISISTHEPLACE!!! Its a dive bar with a fresh selection of local brews on tap, and they always rotation to go with the season. There are your local usuals but the crowd seems to be wide and vast from young to old from punk rocker to indy hipster, from blue collar to suits. I like the the eclectic feel of this Long Island gem!

Maybe when I went a few years ago it was in a transition. but I can tell you that the place I went to appeared to be dirty and filled with social misfits. Hide your daughters… and your sons.
