Parking was an adventure on a busy rush hour evening. Took one look at the $$$$ menu and got a grimy feeling. Walked in, and walked out. *my response to reply from owner:* Dear, Sir. I write about my experiences and share them with others honestly. If my experience made you uncomfortable, I am not apologizing. Replying to my post in a scolding or bullying manner doesn’t change my outlook on your place. It only adds to my experience.

The food was unbelievable. The soups are very tasty and very filling. The fish dishes are also amazing. The portions are big so come hungry. All the staff are very kind including the owner. You will not be disappointed.

Let’s get ready to ruummbbblllleeee!!! Ask yourself, are you hungry? Do you want delicious seafare? Maybe tie on a nautically themed buzz? Then Popei’s ahoy! Alright, I know they have designated all you can eat nights, and yes I have partaken in those shenanigans, but honestly you don’t have to wait… There is a you pick 3 deal available all the time which will give you your own personal swashbuckling buffet. Located in Levittown, which brings some interesting clientele, but fear not because people like myself will travel, doesn’t look like much on the outside or really on the inside. They offer valet parking which I always usurped by parking on side streets just because I don’t like people in my car. Get there early because the place is always packed. The management acknowledges this and created a waiting area outdoors. While today’s Sunday visit warranted no waiting, in the past there has been quite a wait(a dive bar next store benefits from those waiting). Once you’re seated you’ll be quite comfortable in a casual setting, think 80s-90s wooden décor complete with elongated mirrors. As far as alcohol goes I recommend the pitchers with the extra kick and as I said the you pick 3 deal. I got the lobster tail, coconut shrimp, and crab legs with French fries all delicious! The boy ordered the same except baby back ribs instead of the shrimp(sooo tender!) and he opted for white clam sauce linguini instead of fries… It was a ridiculous amount of food. The chef introduced himself at the beginning and end of meal, which is a pleasant touch. The young friendly waiter, I think his name was Joseph? Was incredibly attentive. Even the bus person was polite and inquired how everything was. We ate every last bite including the bread AND we had our drinks left over! See you soon Popeis, I just have to go do some cardio.

Popei’s has been a longtime go to restaurant in our town! Prices are good, portions are plenty! Def worth giving it a try if you are looking for something new! Wish the place was bigger! But take out is just as good too! ********** Joe– please someday get Delivery! That would make me the happiest customer in earth!

The original of the 3 branches on Long Island, other locations being Deer Park and Sayville. All the locations are ran by the same family, cousins own and run each individual spot. I went to Deer Park for years, mostly for their all you can eat crab legs which were on Tuesday and Wednesday nights. Something must have happened to the DP branch because they took out the all you can eat specials entirely. I came here on a Tuesday night, which had the all you can eat Alaskan Snow Crab Leg special for $ 40. The place was packed and parking was existent, they did however have free valet parking which was interesting. We get seated, we order the legs and get to choose a side(salad, fries, linguine, or baked potato). The service here is amazing and a lot more lively compared to the Deer Park location. Sorry but even the customers and members of the staff were talking about how the Bethpage location does a great job on service, speed, and quality, I agree. Aside from the crab legs, the buffalo shrimp and their clam chowders are also really good. If its busy, its probably a good sign!

This is the best place i have been to this year. As a first time guest, i went with my wife for our anniversary lunch date. we got there and found a party of some kind going on in part of the restaurant. I thought for sure this meant we would be ignored, this cannot be further from wha actually happened. We were attended to as if we were the only people dining. The food… incredible. Great seafood. My french onion soup was not at all overly salted like a sodium bomb ready to kill. It was delicious and let the broth and onion speak for itself. My wife had the Popei’s Special, which i tried some too and the calamari was exceptional, the sauce delicious. I had the more traditional Fish and Chips for lunch. i loved how the fish was fresh in taste and made in such a way you can use your fork or your hand(if you want to go the barbarian route). In the end, i was very pleased and left very full. The free garlic bread was also fresh and warm. Loved it and highly recommend this place. Parking can be tough so be warned on that.

Bethpage location is always SOLID. I find the service friendlier, quicker and more personable than Deer Park. Also the prices are better(although not sure why they’re not consistent from restaurant to restaurant).

Went back to Popei’s last night; my third visit to this restaurant. So many different opinions about the many components of this experience: The décor – this is exactly the kind of place, if the popularity ever declines, that is perfect for Gordon Ramsay’s kitchen nightmares. Between the hard wooden chairs, lack of tablecloth’s and the wallpaper from the 1940s, there’s just such an easy way to improve this place to make it so much better. The food – portion size seems to be the priority here. Between their daily specials, many of which include all you can eat varieties, it would seem that ownership believes the more I give you, even if it correlates with the more I charge you, the happier you will be. Seafood does seem to be fresh, But flavor seems to be lacking in a lot of these dishes. The price – perhaps it’s my own fault, as I might’ve been distracted by some great conversation with my companion tonight, but I do believe in retrospect that I was overcharged. I mean, two people who order the $ 33 specials, Add in two soft drinks and you tell me how the bill was just over $ 90? The service – One of the best waitresses I’ve ever encountered. Suffice to say, in spite of all the concern about what I was charged, the $ 20 tip might have been too small. So it’s a mixed bag at Popei’s. Not sure if I’ll go back, but then again, years ago, we used to revisit Arthur Treachers every few months when the stomach pains subsided.

This location has more of a takeout feel to it compared to the larger Deer Park location, but the food was just as delicious. There are different specials, including all-you-can-eat deals depending on what night you go there. I don’t believe I’ve ever had a bad meal here. Prices are right on target. I will definitely return.

*garlic bread(yum!!! Probably the best thing I ate that night haha; bread was so soft and fluffy and I loved the flavor of it; also I was grateful that the bread wasn’t so oily) *buffalo wings(meh, it was alright, the meat was kind of dry but the sauce itself wasn’t half bad; the wings were of decent size but can’t say I really enjoyed this) *fish sticks(surprisingly not bad; the fish was soft and the batter was light but crisp; tartar sauce was good and definitely worth dipping) *bbq ribs(I was honestly surprised and I like these quite a bit; the meat was falling off the bone and the sauce was perfectly sweet, tangy and savory) *baked clams(omg never again. I don’t know what was in this but I did not enjoy these at all. I’ve had better ones at buffets) This restaurant is alright. Food is mediocre. Service isn’t bad. The parking lot is terrible so be prepared to park on side streets because the lot fits like 5 cars. They have a regular menu and then a late night menu. Late night is when certain items are half off, which is when it’ll be more worth it. It’s a nice local spot, but I will definitely not be back.

Over all is 4 stars. Good warm caring service. Homey. Big portion for the money too. Decent taste. Nice atmosphere. A good place for family, dating and party. We ordered: Alaska king card legs, seafood combo, full rack ribs, stuffed crab meat, steak, Thai calamari, cheese sticks and onion rings for $ 195. Every one is so stuffed. The portion is good for 3 meals.

Good food, good service. Location is very clean. Typically I’m a city island girl but when you don’t wanna pay for tolls, come to popei. They cater to all different diets-steamed and/or fried options. I believe they have a full bar. Prices are very reasonable. I would def bring friends and family here. I recommend it. My mom said the stuffed flounder tasted like the one from Costco. Not like they made it on location. Not sure if it’s true but something to think about. She says she would still recommend the dish. Good flavor. I had the lunch combo(3 items) baby back ribs, fried calamari & shrimp cocktail. Very tasty and generous portions. Took most of it home. I recommend that as well.

The menu covers lots of seafood and other meats. My husband I split a combo heaven which was more than enough food. We had: Fried shrimp(which were large and plump) BBQ Baby Back Ribs(really tender and I loved the sauce) Buffalo Wings(I love that the mild sauce, was actually mild) Next time I will be back to try some more seafood items! They have a lot of daily and all-you-can-eat specials.

Popei’s is your 1 stop shop for fine Seafood cuisine. The prices will make you laugh at Joe’s Crab Shack and look down upon Red Lobster. I’ve been coming here for years. Family dinners and dinner dates. This place has it all. From the bar craft cocktails, delicious appetizers like Thai Calamari and platters like King Neptune(lobster tail, scallops &shrimp) to fine Italian delicacies like lobster, shrimp stuffed rigatoni a la vodka. This place is not the biggest, but it is worth your visit. The portions are HUGE and for the price, it’s like going down to Maryland. Reservations are only open to large parties and the wait can be as long as a Mike Jackson concert, but the cuisine here, is indeed WORTHTHEWAIT. The wait staff treats you like royalty here. Valet Parking is available. Cocktails are dirt cheap at $ 10. $ 23 bottles of wine. I enjoy everything on the menu and you will too. This is not like Popeye ’ s, don’t get it twisted.

Popei’s is a seafood lover’s dream! I came here with my family for my birthday dinner and enjoyed it very much. We came on a Sunday night and thank goodness we had a reservation because the place was packed. We started with some little neck clams, calamari, crab cakes and coconut shrimp. The coconut shrimp was a fave at our table but everything was delish. The garlic bread they serve is so good it’s downright addicting. For entrees most of us went with the 3 out of 9 special(Choose 3 of the following: Steak, Shrimp(choose from breaded, scampi, etc), Crab Legs, Ribs, Bay Scallops, Lobster Tail, Whole Main Lobster, King Crab Legs, and/or Sea Scallops). The latter 4 are an additional $ 4 – 5. We all enjoyed our meals and had plenty to bring home. My brother had the all you can eat ribs. He flew through the first rack and thought they were delicious but he felt the 2nd ½ rack were overcooked. My nephew had the Shrimp fettuccine and my stepmom had the Mango salmon and shrimp. They both enjoyed their meals very much. Since it was my birthday the staff at Popei’s led the dining room in a rousing round of happy birthday and gave me a delicious complimentary dessert. Our server was attentive and our food was great! All in all a good experience!
