Wow, this guy was super cool and professional. He took the time to explain all the problems I had and that I should consider a second opinion. I told him a few other docs had told me I needed urgent surgery, but he thought I would do better with time and therapy. I haven’t decided on surgery yet, but I appreciate his honesty.

When Dr. J. Patrick Johnson said he’d have me off all the pain killers just a month after surgery I thought it was just an encouraging passing comment. After my thorough L-3 through S-1 fusion surgery(a re-do of a completely failed job by someone who perhaps shouldn’t be practicing), I WASINDEED out of pain, weaning off Norco, and on my way back to life in about one month! I still had a lot of recovering to do, but out of prior pain in one month… How about that!?! He has also performed a laminectomy on my husband with the same EXCELLENCE! Dr. J. Patrick Johnson is THEBEST, with a phenomenal team.

Patrick Johnson walks on water as far as I am concerned. When you are in his hands you have found the John Wayne of neurosurgery. Complete with cowboy boots, he exudes confidence(not arrogance) and for good reason. As the previous reviewer said, he has the confidence and experience to know when NOT to do surgery. As he cooly said to me, «I treat patients, not XRays». This was after he had done a delicate spinal surgery on me and as there was no bone healing I fully expected to undergo another major, life-changing procedure as I had been told I needed by two other department chiefs of neurosurgery at major institutions. Nope. I was dealing with Patrick Johnson. As I said, the guy«walks on water». He saved my life as I know it.

J. Patrick Johnson is a gentleman and a world wide respected surgeon. I just came home after a second round of lumbar fixes in 2.5 years. He is a good old boy as they say and that makes his bedside manner all the more sincere.

Dr. Johnson is an amazing physician because he will not operate on you unless it is absolutely necessary. Why? Because he himself has had a herniated disc and knows when you should and should NOT have surgery. He is a fantastic surgeon with a humble, confidant attitude and to make things better– is not the least bit concerned about his surgery quota for the month.
