I have been going to Mikolaj for over 30 years. No one cuts hair better than he
does. Over the years I have sent many friends to him and no one ever leaves

I came to Mikolaj for the first time because I’m in town to be the best man at my brother’s wedding this weekend, and needed a cut up to that standard. Obviously the bar was high, but Mikolaj came very highly recommended.
The man did not disappoint. I can’t claim to be the world’s expert on hair, but I’m a guy who tends to get his hair cut at pretty decent places, and you could truly feel the difference with him. There’s something in his approach and technique, it was almost like a master artist was at work, one who has honed his craft over years and years. He really takes a good look at you, takes his time, and almost seems to cut a little differently from others. It’s like he’s really measuring everything he does precisely, sculpting a little here and there out of your hair until he gets Michelangelo’s David. And it’s a version of David that exactly hones to what you ask of him too.
Beyond that, it’s at such a reasonable price. Objectively this is an incredible deal. You really are getting one of the best out there at any level of price.
I very rarely write reviews, but I was so impressed by the experience and result I had to write this one.

This was a super LOOOOOOOOONG appointment. I got to the salon at 4:15 PM & left at 9 PM!!!
Mikolaj is a super sweet, nice, respectful, caring & professional hairstylist. In addition, he is very honest & doesn’t try to up sell anything to you. He has been in this business for 35 years!!!
After he listened to my concerns, he explained to me what I should expect & what he had planned for me. I went to his salon to get haircut & Ombré.
First, he cut my hair & explained to me if I cut more in the front of my hair, it would give me a better frame & I will see the change that I was looking for. I like my hair long so he kept my length & just barely trimmed the back. Then he started the ombré process. He is soooo patient. He foiled my hair layer by layer. He had prepared 3 different colors & really took his time placing the foils in. I could tell, he was trying to imagine my new hair cut & ombré color in his head. My appointment took a long time because of the previous permanent hair color that I got done 3 months ago so as the result my hair wasn’t taking the new color. Mikolaj used very mild bleach & die so that’s why it took a little longer than expected but I was very pleased with the end result & was worth every minute I spent at this salon.
His salon is state of the art salon. It looks super clean & modern. Loved the ambiance. I was actually referred to Mokolaj by my sister. She went to him before her wedding about 3 years ago & never went to any other hairstylist thereafter. He pretty much saved my sister’s damaged hair after coloring & highlighting her hair for so long. Her hair looks so healthy & shiny & long now… Just like what she wished for, thanks to Mokolaj.
I highly recommend Mikolaj to everyone & will be going back for my next haircut & color.

I’ve been going to Mikolaj for over 20 years. He gives the best hair cuts, blows outs and color. He knows all the healthiest products, is gentle, polite and never rushes a client.
If only there were most stylist like him around. He should be cloned!

By far the best hair cut I’ve ever gotten in the 20 years that I’ve lived in Los Angeles. Mikolaj is incredibly precise when he cuts, every hair is carefully measured. He worked for many years at Bruno & Soonie and then Umberto on Canon in Beverly Hills. His training with Soonie shows. Mikolaj is a master cutter. I came to him because two of my friends had come to him after they had both had disastrous haircuts at other famous, expensive salons. Mikolaj is known for fixing other people’s messes. All three of us now have great new haircuts. He is gentle and will take however much time he needs to get it right. He also gives a fantastic blow-​dry. If you’re tired of the typical haphazard, rushed haircut and want a precise beautiful cut then Mikolaj is your man! I can’t recommend him highly enough. (By the way all reviews of Mikolaj are stellar except for one. All I can say is that he is the most polite, lovely gentle hair stylist that I’ve ever been to)

Mikolas is an excellent hair stylist, colorist and professional. He is truly a gem in
Beverly Hills and always polite and attentive to all his clients. His hair cuts are
always with precision and perfect. I highly recommend Mikolas, the owner to

I had a 8:00 A.M. haircut appointment with Mikolaj this morning, which I showed up for on time. Antoinette, the receptionist was not there so the shampoo person told me that Mikolaj was running about 25 minutes late. I told her that I’ll go to Nosh in the meantime to get a bite to eat. I left her my phone # and told her to call me when Mikolaj gets there. At 8:40, the shampoo person called me and said Mikolaj will be there in a few minutes so she asked me to come back and get shampooed. I walked in and he started going off at me. He was practically yelling at me. I don’t remember his exact words because I was in complete shock. He was going off at me because apparently I should have just sat there for 40 mins waiting for him instead of going next door. The way he was talking (more like yelling at me) was so rude that I started to cry right there in the salon. This was not a hormonal related cry because I’m pregnant. This was the only time I ever cried during my pregnancy, or because of the way someone spoke to me. I cried to him that I’m 9 months pregnant and I don’t understand why he’s talking to me like this. Even after I started crying, he continued to go off at me. Instead of him apologizing to me for being late, I left in tears and I’ll never go back. I had no one to even complain to because he’s the owner. I have never experienced anything like this and I hope no one else will.

Just know that everything I’m about to say is really an understatement. Mikolaj is the best in Beverly Hills. He is a treasure! He makes me feel amazing every single time. Talk about Quality control, he can duplicate the same haircut over and over again. Something many hairstylist I have been to can’t do more than once. Recently I wanted something completely different off-​the-​wall edgy and trendy. And he made me look Sophisticated yet youthful, and I got compliments everywhere I went. The best part is as it grew out it just kept giving me more style, Every single way that I would part my hair it look different and everybody would ask me «did you Get it cut again?». Usually I get it cut every six weeks but this cut look amazing even after three months. He is a perfectionist. And during the consultation he just makes you feel like he’s really listening to you, and not just wanting to do what he wants. He shares his vision with you, and gives you the best blow-​dry ever! Mikolaj is most professional hairstylist I’ve ever been to. I wouldn’t let anyone else touch my hair.

Mikolaj is wonderful. He is fantastic with cut and color and a perfectionist. This is not the place to go if you’re in a hurry — he will make sure it is right. But it will be right and beautiful. I just wish he was closer (I moved to the West Valley and it’s just too hard to get there sometimes)

I don’t know about you but for me it’s all about the haircut. If you want someone that knows how to cut hair then Mikolaj is your man. Your cut looks great when you walk out of the salon and you still look great six weeks later when it’s growing out. And honestly, his blow outs are amazing. The man is a perfectionist, completely focused and he doesn’t let you out of the chair till its perfect. What else could you ask for. Oh, did I mention that he’s a Sweetheart? Well he is.

Every girl needs a great hair stylist; that goes without saying. But when you turn 40 you suddenly need a great colorist as well. I have been to Atila a few times now for cut and color and have been delighted with his work. He is friendly, professional, honorable, reliable, on time, has a great eye for color and is very good at what he does. I love knowing that I’m in good hands and don’t need to micro manage him — I can just sit back and let him take creative control. Thank you, Atila! You will be seeing me again soon!

I went here to get a haircut and I am extremely particular about my hair. Melissa cut my hair and made it look better than ever. I just relocated to the west coast, and this place has good vibes and melissa made my hair stand out better than ever. I wear my hair up and it is extremely hard to cut. I have a lot of cal locks in my hair!

I went to Melissa for a haircut and was super happy with the results! I have really long, thick, heavy hair and while I wanted to keep the length, I wanted it to be less drab looking and lighten it up with some layers. She did a great job of layering my hair so it looks more flowy! She was very patient with me too and wasn’t in a rush to get me out of there, which I really appreciated. I highly recommend Melissa and Salon Mikolaj. The owner Mikolaj is super nice as well and also commented on how he liked the haircut. :)

Mikolaj is not only an incredible stylist (something which I find is becoming harder and harder to find), he is also an incredible human being. Intelligent and caring, Mikolaj is the definition of a perfectionist. Just look at his clients who have stayed with him anywhere from 5−15+years and some, like myself, travel all the way from San Diego to Beverly Hills just for him. I would not ever think of switching and I think anyone who has the pleasure of visiting him wouldn’t want to either!

How do I adore Mikolaj? I can’t begin to count the ways! He is a genius with color, he takes time and gives full attention to the the client with every cut, and he is so low-​key and no drama! He is an amazing hairstylist.
