Solid 4. I have only eaten at the MDR Sugarfish and, as I have mentioned in my review for that location, I don’t really love Sugarfish as I liken it to fast casual sushi. However, I can definitely say that the Beverly Hills location is superior to the MDR one. I walked in on a Thursday at around 1pm and it was full save for a few seats at the bar. I was seated a few minutes in and from then on, service was pretty quick. I had the Trust Me Lite with a la carte orders of uni and ikura, and everything was fresh and warm. Not only was the fish of better quality here, but the overall experience was as well. Maybe they know they are catering to a more demanding set of clients but it’s surely a step up. Since I just live a block away, I would definitely come back for casual sushi.

Unless you are an out of control, full blown glutton. .. the Trust Me mid-range option is plenty and the pace of the service is WONDERFUL. You just have to be prepared to wait around 45 minutes to an hour for a table for two or up at the sushi bar, and that’s the only drawback. Other than that, BEST in town, hands down. And we are sushi snobs, in a fun way. ..

I came here on a Sunday at around opening and there was no wait and that was great. I got the«Trust Me» light which was I believe $ 19 and it was delicious. I love the sushi rice and it’s perfect. The waiters were nice and friendly, and the atmosphere overall was nice. I will definitely come back again sometime.

This will always be my #1 sushi restaurant in Los Angeles. No one else does sushi quite like Sugarfish. From start to finish, it’s an experience of simplicity, freshness, and taste, unparalleled by any other. My go-to choice is the Trust Me or the Trust Me Lite, with the highlights of that being the tuna sashimi, albacore sushi and the toro handroll. Every hand cut piece of sushi is insanely fresh, super simple, and just melts in your mouth. I have been to SugarFish dozens of times, and not once can I say it’s been a bad experience. The one downside of Sugarfish is that they don’t do reservations, and they won’t seat you until your entire party has arrived. Considering how busy they constantly are though, this definitely makes sense. Give SugarFish a try and you definitely won’t regret it!

I just recently tried this for the first time October 2015, and as a sushi lover I was wondering where SugarFish has been all my life. While I’m not to crazy when it comes to sushi I really love the Salmon and Lobster rolls. I’ve never walked into Sugarfish with a craving for sushi and walked out with it not being satisfied. It’s always so fresh! The service can be EH sometimes, being as when I ask them for water with lemon they usually take forever to bring it. With that being the only issue I’ve ever had with them, the food is great. I don’t recommend the trust me for the first time there though!

Are you a lazy sushi orderer? Never know what to order? This is the place for you. you pick from pre-planned menu of 3 different selections. they have all the basics tuna/shrimp salmon. all was very good. only problem is that there is a very limited selection and no creativity – it is basic stuff.

I love Asian food and feel LA has the best of it– except Japanese food, because Hawaii has it beat hands down. Heard so many great things about this place as being«one of the best», and had to come to try it. This location was pretty small, but we got seated relatively quickly on a Friday night(~20min). I got their«Trust Me» which has a nice assortment of sushi and handrolls. Almost went for the Nozawa(their largest course) but decided to save the $ 10 to instead get their Uni nigiri(my favorite sushi). The food was all excellent– with great quality of fish cuts and preparation/flavor. They also had friendly service, which was on par with most Japanese restaurants. I did feel like their Uni was probably one of the best I tried anywhere– so definitely get it if you are a fan! What stops me from 5 stars is purely based on cost. I think it is quite expensive(«Trust Me» is $ 32 for dinner; the«Nozawa» is $ 42) which is a bit much for me still needing to eat a snack afterwards.

My friend and I were looking for a light place to fill our stomach before spotting this place and would like to give a try. It was a small sweet surprise. Could either go for the prex-fixe(trust me, or if not that hungry, trust me lite) or a la carte. Since no uni sushi was included in the fixed menu, we went for the latter. Opted for the blue crab hand-cut roll, tuna sashimi and uni sushi. Our waiter gave us the wrong sushi so he quickly brought us another order of blue crab! Thanks for doing that. Quality was also good — sushi rice was soft and had the refreshing taste. This place was packed around 4pm.

(review for when I went 4 months ago) Came for lunch on a weekday around 3pm, was surprisingly crowded for the time. Overall great! Got the Nozawa Trust Me, of course, and there’s a reason why it’s popular. Also ordered scallop and uni sashimi, which were both very fresh and delicious. Wish the interior was a little bigger, though. Was very loud and I was seated next to an obnoxious, overly/forced flirtatious couple on a(presumed) first date. And because of the popularity and serving style of the«trust me» meals, it took about 2hrs total. Minus one star for that.

Sushi was good, you know just good. The rice is warm when it’s served which is much better than other sushi restaurants, however we found out several scale and fish bone that are not supposed to be here. Besides the service is terrible, careless, and rude. They smashed plates on the my table. Overall, this sushi restaurant is just so so, won’t come back again.

I upgraded my review to 5 stars because my recent experience was really good. The host and hostess could not have been nicer offering me free drinks and a complimentary lobster roll because we waited longer than they said. I will be back

Here will forever be one of my top 3 favorite sushi places ever. Although pricey, once you try a bite you can never go back to loving mediocre sushi again. My favorite here is the ‘Trust Me’ set. The first dish served is a plate of edamame steamed to perfection, soon after is a tuna tartar marinated in a light ponzu sauce and scallions. Next comes halibut and salmon which is out of this world… Literally melts in your mouth. Do not come here expecting to get anything super saucy or fried! At sugarfish, their amazing quality of fish speaks for itself.(No spicy mayo or eel sauce… And it’s not necessary). Not to forget, their service here is ALWAYS on point, part of the reason why I keep coming back. The only downside here is that you can’t make a reservation and it tends to get very crowded every evening after 5PM… You could possibly have to wait for 30 – 45 minutes, but luckily this location is right in the heart of Beverly drive and Canon drive, so you won’t stay bored while waiting. Although the wait is a bit annoying, the sushi is worth it! Can’t wait to go back.

Es el peor servicio del mundo, no tienen la menor idea de lo que es atención al público. La calidad buena pero tienes muchas opciones de la misma o mejor calidad sin necesidad de pasar mal rato con su servicio.

The TRUSTME dinner set should be called the LIAR set. The only thing that was really good was the salmon. I wish I just did a la carte instead. I’ve read that the trust me set gets you full… But at the risk of sounding like a self-indulgent pig, it definitely doesn’t get you full. Trust me! The ambience is nice and modern and minimalistic. Servers are quick and efficient. They just bring everything out methodically. My husband and I came here pretty early around 5:30ish and didn’t have to wait at all. I had high hopes for sugar fish but I left feeling disappointed.

Where to even start — I came here a year ago and have been dreaming about my return ever since. Hands down the best sushi I’ve ever tasted! If I had it my way I would have came here a second time during my short week long visit to LA(that good)!! Service isn’t the best but the food is the reason you keep coming back. 100% the best sushi out there. They have a couple different options: you can either get your meal ala carte or pick from a few pre created sushi dinners. They have the Trust Me Light, the Trust Me, and the Nowaza Trust Me — difference between them is the amount of food you want the Light being the least and the Nowaza being the most food. Pretty affordable for how much sushi you get($ 17-$ 40). If you’re going to come and have a large appetite, I would highly recommend getting the Trust Me or the Nowaza. Difference between the two is an additional hand roll(Toro) and yellowtail and scallop nigiri. For that reason alone I would bite the bullet and just go big and get the Nowaza. Those three things were hands down my favorite part of this meal. The fish is perfect, melts in your mouth, and not fishy at all. The rice is the best sushi rice around and is warm and the perfect texture. The blue crab hand roll is so good too! My favorite sushi ever and I am already counting down the days until I get to have it again!

Sugarfish is my favorite«let’s go get sushi» spot in LA. I say this because there is better, but they’re all omakase where you will spend significantly more and it’s more of an experience rather than casual dining(including their own Nozawa bar). Sugarfish is a straight and to the point, no BS type of place. While they do offer a la carte, their main focus is a choice of 3 levels of set meals: The Trust Me Lite, Trust Me, and The Nozawa(being the most food). If you go here and order sushi rolls you’re crazy and probably should have gone to a basic chain spot like Kabuki because you clearly will not appreciate how authentic they try to be while still maintaining affordability. Everything is fresh, served as soon as it’s prepared, and delicious. Wait times can get pretty hairy, but there are other locations around LA as well. I also highly recommend Nozawa’s most recent endeavor KazuNori, which is a handroll only spot in DTLA.

Huge fan of Sugarfish! The fish here is consistently fresh and amazing and you can’t beat the value. You can order one of the«omakases” – Trust Me Lite, Trust Me, or Nozawa – or order a la carte. It’s a bit different than traditional omakase because instead of getting each nigiri one at at time, you get a dish with a few pieces at a time. Some of the sushi is pre-sauced while others are served plain and meant to be dipped in soy sauce. The fish here is so buttery and seriously melts in your mouth. My favorites are albacore and salmon. With any of the Trust Me sets you begin with the edamame and tuna sashimi(cut into little chunks, sauced) then move on to the nigri(which varies depending on your chosen size). You end the meal with the hand rolls. With Trust Me, which I had this last time, I ended with the blue crab roll. It was perfect ending with the one warm roll, and I love that they use real crab and not imitation crab here. My one and only negative is that none of the Sugarfish locations take reservations. I guess they don’t need to with all the business they are constantly getting, but it would be lovely not to have to wait an hour every time I’m trying to eat at Sugarfish…

From one reason or another, going to any of the numerous Sugarfish outlets has eluded me. However, I finally go to try the $ 40 Nozawa Trust Me. I gotta say my trust was rewarded! Pacing was good, service was excellent. Their hand rolls(blue crab and toro) were really good but that’s no wonder considering the Sugarfish empire created KazuNori. A lot of their fish(ex. Tuna Sashimi) is doused in sauce which is not my cup of tea but I can’t deny its still good stuff. I ultimately think they have some of the best sushi rice out there. I wish I hadn’t held out so long to try a Sugarfish restaurant. For as much as you get, the Nozawa Trust Me is one of the best omakase deals out there and especially in BH of all places.

Two Words: Trust Me. Order it ;) There are 3 versions of Trust Me: The regular one, the lite version, and the Nozawa. If you have a voracious appetite like me, order the Nozawa. The rice in the sushi was cooked perfectly. Most places butcher the rice and they overcook it. I did not even use any soy sauce, ginger, or wasabi because each dish had a bit of sauce or it was not needed! I fell in love with toro here. Other places do not even compare… *cough cough* katana/katsuya. It is a very intimate setting, I like going here for dinner and finishing off the night with a bottle of sake.
