This store goes all out serious in the women’s clothing department. You will find lots of accessories and gew gaws and trinkets and stuff. The housewares area is adequate and the children’s clothing section is good for gifts.

I like this location alot, and since it’s on one of my routes home, it’s easy for me to just stop in really quick. It’s pretty packed though, and in my opinion, it could use a slightly bigger location.

TJ Maxx, why have you forsaken me? I don’t understand where you went wrong. What happened to our lazy afternoons filled with combing the racks for delightful deals? Don’t you remember when you used to set aside the cutest shirts, dresses, and shoes for me in the size I needed, like you were psychic and able to tell exactly what I needed? You were like my best friend’s closet, full of different labels and a few designer threads in pretty styles I might not have tried before and always secretly admired. I looked forward to sneaking into the dressing room with as many pieces as I was allowed just to see whether that spangled shirt or sharp dress would look as cute as I thought. And you were so good to me! I found so many size 10 shoes and always some unexpected discovery in your care, like the zombie and skull cupcake moulds or the best English tea my cousins sent me in their Christmas care package. Even if I wasn’t looking for household goods, you had inspiring framed pictures, practical kitchen goods at a fraction of the cost new, and always something worth giving as a hostess or birthday present. But you changed. Maybe it was the first blush of your success wearing away down to cold, practical necessity of sourcing goods from different places. You no longer have the uniqueness I first saw in you. The Beverly Hills store is exactly like Farmington or Oakbrook Terrace. I thought you were different from the rest, your stock wasn’t the same, and I went between your branches like a kid on a scavenger hunt. And the labels aren’t anywhere near as good as they used to be. I think you aged because all you come up with would be clothes an unstylish version of my mother or grandmother would wear. Sometimes I find a prospective diamond in the rough but it’s not often. Maybe those Limited Lexie pants, the only place I found them other than eBay or the online store. I had hopes, TJ Maxx, I really did. But Prada shoes for $ 300 don’t make up for carrying good trainers for $ 35 or pretty La Scala hats for summer or athletic pants in a brand other than Under Armour or a bunch I can’t even recognize. I spend more and more time looking for the good things you had, and so often there’s nothing but obscurity, the same piece after another, at prices which aren’t all that great compared to your competitors. I thought we had a special relationship but I’m beginning to see you’re just like the rest. Every girl and guy comes to visit you and leaves nothing behind for me. I can’t find what I need in life from you, and I just can’t spend the time hunting around when it is likely to be fruitless. You’ve let yourself go, and you need to take care of your appearances. You’re getting sloppy, BHTJ Maxx, leaving your clothes on the floor and your luggage in disarray. Do you even care any more? Maybe you need to talk to your staff, and find some friends who want to do right by you. The other poster is right, you’re not really domestic any more. Homegoods beat you a long time ago in that. But you were my fashion forward friend once, but you and I, we’ve hit a rut.

I always do a quick walk through at TJ’s when I’m at Penzey’s for spices. Of all the locations this is my least favorite. It seems like the merch is usually picked over and they rarely have anything I’m looking for. That said, I’m usually not looking for clothing so there may be some gems here. Their housewares are pretty limited compared to some of the other locations but HomeGoods is where the good stuff is hiding anyways.
