Wallys is lovely. The cheese and win selection is the best in town, However, I find Carl rude and obnoxious. My girlfriend and I met there after work. She was literally 2 minutes behind me and I was saving a place at the bar for her. Carl sat a woman in the seat and when I told him my girlfriend was finishing a phone call out front and would be taking the seat he said«we hear that all the time» and sat some woman anyway. Making it uncomfortable for the woman and myself. We should have left at that point to have dinner someplace else. I will never go back. It’s a shame they have such a rude«manager».

I love the wine selection here and the choices for caviar is amazing. I come here for happy hour even when there is no happy hour menu. Please ask for Christoph, best service in town.

Beautiful interior décor. Luv the grand scale, high vaulted ceilings, communal tables, vast selection of wine & cheese store, while offering an upscale restaurant setting and delicious presentation of dishes. Fabulous social ambience, country rustic, yet edgy chic. The wine vault and towers with sliding latter are a stunning site. So crowded on a Wednesday nite for dinner. Will definitely be back soon.

If you don’t care about being ripped off, this is the place for you! The newest wallys location in Beverly Hills is gorgeous. Sleek and sexy, but at your expense. On my most recent visit, I asked for a bottle of water. I was happy to pay for one, not expecting it to be free. You’d think a wine bar/store would have those, right? Well they do, but only Fiji 1 liter behind the bar. I said that’s fine and handed my card, thinking it’s probably 3 or 4 bucks tops. Nope! $ 7. Seven dollars for a bottle of Fiji water! $ 7.63 with tax. I’m sorry, but that is absurd. I thought I’d compare some wine and scotch prices too while I was at it. And of course, no surprise to what I found! A bottle of Mcallan Rare Cask is priced at $ 339.00 at Wallys. At K&L in Hollywood, it’s $ 269.00. A bottle of Balvenie 21 you want? $ 250 at Wallys. $ 199 at K&L. I know this is Beverly Hills and everything is more expensive, but these hiked up prices are a joke and a waste of your money if you ask me. I also know that Hollywood and Beverly Hills are miles apart. But the prices at Wallys are higher than any of the liquor stores on the sunset strip as well. So an extra five minutes in your car will save you 5 – 50 bucks per bottle of anything in that store really, water or alcohol. Did I mention this is not a mom and pop shop, but one owned by investors like the Marciano brothers? Yeah, the guys that started Guess… The same brother that just sold his home for $ 30 million bucks!

This is beautiful wine bar is set in the hear of Beverly Hills includes a specialty store with an amazing selection of truffles, caviar, cheeses, charcuterie, and wine — of course, wine. Dine right amidst the same bottle of vino you will later enjoy. After all, a place which hands you a «Wine Bible» along with your food menu will soon have a religious following. By the way, they have a full bar as well. Amen! The food menu is wonderfully packed with something for everyone and everything that pairs perfectly of beverage. I chose the Grilled Octopus and Roasted Vegetables. The veggies were beautiful. Just enough salt to bring out the natural beauty and a touch of char. The Octopus was supple and soft, but a bit dry. Served with pickled tomatillo, piquillo purée, black olive tuile, and thai basil. Excellent combination of flavors which excited all my taste buds. Great atmosphere, nice service, and bartenders versed in humorous anecdotes to put a smile on your face. I have a feeling that this will quickly become one of my go to places.

Wally’s just became one of my favorite place to go. From the extremely extensive wine list they have to the great food and the inviting interior, Wally’s is definitely THEPLACE you want to hang out with your friends. There’s no reservations, but usually no problem getting a seat pretty fast. It is cafeteria style, which means you’d probably be sitting next to strangers. People are usually very nice and entertaining, especially after a few drinks. But it’s definitely not a place you want to get drunk at. There’s a little market in the back where you can buy different cheese and truffle assortments.

I went to Wally’s for brunch recently and loved the whole concept. On Sundays they have a small farmers market inside the store and wine tastings too. The cheese store was well stocked and they have many products to buy for entertaining guests with sophisticated palates. The wines are extensive and there is something for everyone. We waited for a table and had a fantastic truffle pizza and a lobster salad with quinoa and avocado. We accompanied that with a French white Burgundy. I was in heaven. Great Sunday! Going back soon.

LOVEIT! Especially the social butterfly Carl, with his Irish brogue. Excellent food all around. Octopus, lamb, cheeses and fois gras are our favourite… Aside from Carl.

Wally’s is pretty beautiful and well done with an incredible wine selection, cheeses, and small plates. I loved the cheese selection and the ambiance of the place. It was really really expensive. But service was good and for a glass of wine and some cheese it works just fine!

Went last night with the wife. Had an amazing time. Ordered foie gras terrine, burger and pasta. All were great. Had a few glasses of wine, a Malbec from Argentina and a right bank Bordeaux 2010, both were drinking great. All in all the ambiance is equally as impressive as the food. Great crowd, everyone was jovial and outgoing which makes it a lot easier to share a communal table. To me, Mastros penthouse is over, I will be spending my late night dining time with Wally’s.

When I thought of Wallys I always thought of a fancy liquor store but had no idea this BH one existed let alone was so fancy schmancy! Also a big plus, they stay open LATE… til 2am! We had just seen a show at the Wallis and hadn’t eaten dinner, and thanks to Unilocal and their«open now» function, we stumbled into Wallys. I was very impressed with how swanky it is. It almost reminds me of a Manhattan cocktail bar/restaurant. It was late so it was somewhat empty so we helped ourselves to the bar. The staff was friendly(although one guy seemed tired I’m sure it was the end of his shift but he still managed to be friendly) and they handed us a ton of different menus. Not surprising they have a ton of wine and liquor options plus a late night dinner menu. With me being meat free and my friend being gluten free there weren’t a ton of options for us to share but we settled on the grilled octopus and the pommes frites. Both were yummy even though the octopus was a little burnt. We also made our way to the back to find a dessert and discovered some pre packaged toffee and sure it’s a little pricey but OMGSOGOOD. I’m only taking one star off because the late night menu was so sparse but I definitely would go back again during their normal hours to get the full Wally’s experience.

Great atmosphere and vibe here at Wally’s with beautiful interior and an impressive wine selection from floor to ceiling everywhere! The seating was a little tight as myself and my girlfriend were seated at a large table in between 2 parties but it was resolved when we scooted over once a party left. We started with the purple and blue salad. Phenomenál! Figs, beets, radish, purple pickled cauliflower and great blue cheese. Just perfect. Charcuterie plate– we got the Stilton blue, cana de oveja, and gruyère. Jamon serrano and prosciutto. All very good Lamb shank off the bone — a bit salty but great flavor combinations all around Ribeye with pomme frite– good but a little salty as well Strawberry & violet– the ice cream was perfect and the macerated strawberries with strawberry sauce was great. Nice light dessert to end the meal The server, sommelier and hostess were very sweet and I definitely would love to return for another meal!

Beautiful store with a great selection of fine wines. The staff is very helpful and knowledgeable about the many different wines available here. I needed a gift and was told The Dun Vineyards 2003 was a good selection. Our Boss loved this wine! Thank you for the great selection. I will definitely be back for future purchases.

This unassuming wine and cheese store turns into a magical hotspot in Beverly hills at night. We ended up at Wallys at 1 am after a night out and what a pleasant surprise. We were seated at the end of the restaurant at one of the bar tops and didn’t realize that the chef and managers were seated right next to us enjoying their late night meal. We got to talking and they were so generous in letting us try some of their favorites from the menu that they ordered. The place is huge with a never ending selection of wine and an extensive menu for being a cheese and wine shop. Being gluten free and only being able to enjoy goat cheese, this place was phenomenal. They had roasted cauliflower in a spicy African curry which was out of this world and the best goat cheese I’ve ever had. Pomme frites to die for and gluten free crisps that were magical. Our waiter who was also gluten free recommended some amazing dishes and was extremely knowledge and had a pleasant and welcoming energy about him. Who knew this hidden gem tucked away in Beverly Hills familiar streets could hold such a surprising new culinary adventure.

**Great after-work drink and nibbles; pre or post-show snack or light supper. Wine, cheese and chocolate for sale. Stone’s throw from the Wallis Annenberg Center for the Performing Arts** Went here after seeing a show at the nearby Wallis Annenberg Center less than a block away. Not many options after a show ends after 10pm, but I decided to take a chance and stop by. A few months ago, Wally’s Beverly Hills hired a new executive chef, David Feau, whose popups I attended twice this year. His style is rather sophisticated, elegant, cerebral and modern. Although much more casual than Chef Feau’s previous ventures such as The Royce, Wally’s is an appropriate stage to experience his refined cuisine in a small plates format easier on the budget(than a full-on tasting menu) and easier for short attention spans. FOOD: Complimentary Amuse Appetizer — Gruyère Cheese Gougere. The Amuses rotate fairly regularly from what I’ve seen in the picture feeds and on this night it was a savory French choux pastry puff. TERRINEDEFOIEGRASDECANARD $ 20 — A very smooth and velvety foie gras topped with a cool«W» emblem resulting from custom made molds. It came with a seasonal fig compote, fresh figs and toasted brioche. The portion is about ¾ of what I’d get for a FG torchon at another place I know in the Hollywood Hills, but a factor making this one stand apart from some of the others is the use of brioche toast points, which make for a refined touch(the majority of restaurants use french baguette slices). STRAWBERRY&VIOLET $ 14 — Macerated Harry’s strawberries, strawberry sorbet, violet lychee panna cotta, violet flowers. The panna cotta flavored with lycée and violet was nontraditional in that it was slightly frozen in a gastromolecular manner. Further adding complexity was the violet-colored and scented sugar underneath the strawberries that released a heavenly aroma after a slightly sweet strawberry dessert consommé was poured on top. CHOCOLATESENSATION $ 14 — cocoa sponge cake, chocolate mousse, cocoa nibs tuille, edible gold. Chocolate olive oil sorbet was switched out for chocolate mousse the night I was there. The cocoa sponge was light, fluffy and torn into little tufts next to a luscious mound of textbook perfect chocolate mousse. It was crowned with a fantastic tuille cookie made of chocolate batter and cocoa nibs — not an easy feat. Fitting to the location in Beverly Hills, the delectable tuille had a dab of edible gold. DRINK: Since I ordered Foie Gras, I decided to go with a classic pairing of Sauternes wine. They only had 2 selections by the glass(many more by the bottle) and I opted for the cheaper of the 2, the 1970 Château Suduiraut, Sauternes $ 31(the other selection was $ 60). My eyes popped out at the price(mind you this is not a full glass), but upon first sip, I felt the price was justified. Rather than refreshing my palate in between bites of foie gras, the wine melded and extended the deep and rich taste of the duck terrine. After finishing the desserts, I decided to order a caffiene-free tea and after hearing my choices, opted for the Le Hammeau $ 5 by the tea atelier, Bellocq. It was a blend of lemon grass, verbena and other organic and premium herbs. SERVICE: Wally’s doesn’t take reservations and offers communal seating with mostly long counters and tables and a few 2 tops in front of the building. The hostesses were friendly and polite when I walked in and one of them sat me at the corner of a communal table with stools(10 seats). My pleasant and efficient server was very knowledgeable about the cuisine from the kitchen and the cheese from the shop section of the specialty goods store/restaurant. He suggested I order a serving of cheese to go with my Sauternes wine, but I declined saying I needed to save room for dessert after the foie. After I finished the Strawberry and Violet dessert, much to my surprise, the server brought me a complimentary slice of cheese. I usually dislike blue cheeses, but the imported English Stilton cheese was a nice edible crust and very creamy interior. SUMMARY: Chic and classy environment combining fine white marble communal tables for drink and small plates menu designed by executive chef, David Feau; full bar of cocktails and hard liquor; a specialty store selling cheese, chocolate, and snacks; and a plentiful display of wines for sale throughout the store.

This is what I call a solid local joint… that is, if you live in Beverly Hills. But not sure this place is worth the drive out. I had high hopes for this place considering it’s walls of stacks and stacks of beautiful wines, the cheese store, and white marble table tops. People were all dressed beautifully. I was definitely very Beverly Hills-ish. The cheese platter was not amazing. The proscuitto missed the mark, and the cheeses that we picked were just AOK.(Could have been customer error for picking the wrong cheeses.) The $ 23 grilled octopus was just ok. And by the way, I order grilled octopus at every restaurant if it’s on the menu. I ordered the $ 26 wagyu burger, which apparently was just voted the #1 burger by Zagat in LA. Um, what? Um, no. I mean don’t get me wrong, the meat itself was spectacular, but to own that title, everything has to be good – even the bread and the sauce. That’s where the burger failed for me. With all of that said, their wine selection is really amazing and the restaurant definitely goes out of its way to ensure that you are 100% happy with your glass of wine. Not sure I’ll back unless I lived in Beverly Hills.

They have a new chef there, so I don’t go for dinner as often, specifically because of one dish. It was a special before — shelled market beans. Sounded wonderful, simple, healthy, satisfying. It looked like something that came out of Linda Blair’s mouth in The Exorcist. The beans had a green purée poured over them, then some prosciutto weaved over them like a lattice pie crust made of meat with nasturtiums and pansies strewn across them as if for a funeral. It not only freaked me out, but everyone else at the communal table I was sitting at. They took it off my bill, even though I ate it, and they sent their delicious pizza. So, I never said anything about it. Then lo and behold, I went back and it was on the menu in a different way. They don’t have much in the way of vegetarian tapas you can share at the bar, so I got what was called grilled corn, Iberian ham and chanterelles. I asked how it would be prepared, so I wouldn’t accidentally order some crazy dish like the market bean, and it was the same nightmare again! They also haven’t had any French Cote du Rhones for under $ 40 for a while. During the summer, I’d pick up a Bandol rose or an unoaked Chardonnay if I was cooking at home.(Opening at work, in other words, and usually I’m on the late shift.) All of this to explain why I haven’t been there much lately except to grab a sandwich.

I was super skeptical because I thought this was yet another old WASPy hangout of fuddy duddies in Beverly Hills since Wally’s the wine store is kind of like that too. And you know what, my gut instinct was right! HOWEVER, this foray of a wine store turned into a cheese store turned into a gorgeous place to drink and eat really good food is so fabulous that you will not be dissapointed. We went for a nightcap after dinner and ended up having a second dinner of sorts. The cute sommelier is really good and instead of the whole bottle, charged us for just 4 glasses. We were so happy, ordered another bottle. So much drinking made is hungry, so we ordred the cheese plate, truffle pizza and fries. All very very tasty. The interiors are carerra marble tables with ceiling to floor wine bottles and excellent lighting. It gets busy but everyone’s there to unwind and it really is a great, unpretentious(i know right!!) way to enjoy great wine. Food is pricy, but it’s BH so don’t complain. Great place to go to pre dinner, for dinner and post dinner.

I can’t not give Wally’s a five-star review. Full disclosure, BF and I have a friend who works here, Kevin, who made sure we sat in his section the night we visited. Would our experience have been as good without him to oversee? Probably not, but pro tip: ask for the bearded Irishman when you go. Anyway, I had been pestering BF to take me to Wally’s for forever. It’s not exactly a casual dining experience. it’s a special occasion place, for sure. Well, my birthday last weekend counts as a special occasion, and Wally’s certainly delivered the wow factor. The ambiance is stellar. Wine bottles line the walls like books in a library, all the way up to the high ceilings. Our stone table(Is it marble or granite? We couldn’t agree.) sat adjacent to the bar, which gave us a view of everything. We told Kevin a bit about what we each liked in a wine, and he produced a dry rosé for me and a white for BF. Then we ordered the five-item charcuterie plate, with two cheeses and three meats. The soft french cheese, the Brillat, was so creamy I smeared it on my bread like butter. A bit of honeycomb was the perfect accompaniment. Of the meats, I enjoyed the soppressata best. For an entrée, we shared the lamb, which, cooked medium, was succulent and divine. The green tomato jam and the little daubs of goat cheese really set the dish off. The garbanzos were green as well, and we thought they were peas. The mashed fingerlings came in a delightful little pot, herbed and just a bit sweet, fragrant with olive oil. I could probably eat a pot twice as big as the one brought to the table. Dessert was the peach pavlova with vanilla ice cream and a blackberry sorbet(I think). It was the perfect way to cap off the night. Portions are not huge. We left feeling satisfied but not stuffed. Everything was beautifully presented, very fresh and colorful. And the wine – with Wally’s wine pedigree, I would think it’s hard to go wrong here. Thanks to Kevin and the gang. BF has definitely let Pandora out of the box now that he’s taken me here. I cannot wait to go again!

It’s hard not to be blown away upon walking into Wally’s. Shelves upon shelves of wine line the walls. A massive cheese counter has an incredible selection of imported and domestic cheeses. The bar seating keeps dining casual and lively. I’ve been here for lunch a few times now. I really enjoy their salads and sandwiches particularly the hero and the beet salad. The menu is quite varied and offers a ton of sandwiches, fish and meat dishes. The only thing I didn’t enjoy it was their grilled cheese. Their wine by the glass selection is incredible. You have the opportunity to try some really special bottles by the glass. Service is very hit or miss. Most recently I had an incredible waiter and food came out so quickly. But last weekend my husband and I waited over 20 minutes for the glass of wine order to arrive. I love the market section of the store and I bought incredible Italian dried pasta and some chocolates. Overall a welcome addition to Beverly Hills. They’re open late night as well, which is nice as many places in Beverly Hills close early.
