Pizza By Alex

A childhood classic and fantastic joint to eat, that has never deviated from its incredible quality of pizza. I would recommended ‘Alex Pizza’ (as we locals know it) to anyone.

Best pizza ever! First timer today! Definitely worth the hour and a half drive from NH! I’ll be back for sure!

Pizza is average. Nothing special, kind of similar to Pizza Hut. It was too expensive for the quality. I could get around the same size pizza for the same price at Otto’s in Portland, and that’s well worth my money. They also do not take cards! Their staff gave me an attitude the whole time from the moment I came in to pick up my order.

Pizza is average at best, seemed to be blanks of a Celeste crust? Not horrible but not great. The toppings were uneventful and full of greasy. The guys were very hungry, so we all ate it. Been here twice now and probably wont return. There are certainly more attractive restaurants! It was a time warp walking into this place… what? just pizza? No salads or grinders. I used the bathroom and it just made… clean enough. Nostalgic of 1980 in not a nice way. Wake up, time to invest some money in your establishment guys.

The pizza was pretty average at best.
If it was any worse I would have just given it back to the staff and left.
The cost for 2 personal pan pizzas was around $ 20
Wasn’t worth my money or the carbs/​calories. I can make a better pizza myself from cheap and easy ingredients, plus it’s a lot more fun.

I’ve eaten my fair share of pizzas and Pizza by Alex is among the top of the list. They only offer personal pans, snugly fit into paper plates, but the pizza packs some serious flavor. I ordered a hamburg and pepperoni and no one ingredient outweighed the other, it was a fantastic balanced pizza. I even proposed to it but then remembered marrying pizzas isn’t legal in Maine (or in any of the 50 states).
My whole group was in consensus that the pizza easily beat any meals we had that week (Sorry Papa Johns, gallon of Kraft mac and cheese, Koi restaurant, and Chef Boyardee). Just remember to bring cash, they still have an old school style cash register!
With a name like «Pizza by Alex», it could have been a literary masterpiece, or a contemporary piece of art, but I’m sure glad it’s a pizza joint.
I would say Pizza by Alex is my #1 pizza spot but since I’m from Boston, I have to maintain that Santarpio is the best or else I’ll disappear.
Seriously, try this pizza spot whenever you’re in the area, you won’t regret it!

This is by far some of the best pizza I have ever had.
Pizza by Alex is a no-​nonsense cash only pizza joint in Biddeford. There are only personal pan pizzas that you can pick up in paper plates, there’s no delivery, and the interior is anything but fancy. Prices are significantly cheaper than even the national brands, which might explain the simplicity.
The pizza here is simply stellar. I got a basic pepperoni pizza and was blown away: it was perfectly doughy and cheesy and meaty without being too much of any of those in particular, and I found myself wolfing down the pizza so quickly it barely had time to rest on the table. It was just freaking amazing.
This place is definitely recommended!

This is the best pizza in southern Maine period. 10″ pies only with a wide variety of toppings. Sauce is amazing. The pizzas remind me of an old school Italian-​style pie like Angelones’ but with a Greek-​style, airy, crispy crust. I highly recommend getting hamburger on your order.

Alex pizza in the old oven, please! Nothing like it. It has something special. My family has been eating at Alex since the 60s. I’ve been enjoying it for the last 10 yrs or so. I was late in the game becoming an Alex Pizza fan but now I’m in. I always get the pineapple (no ham), in the old oven & it’s one of a kind for sure. They have pizza & only pizza, one size & cash only. I’m sure I will be enjoying many more Alex pizzas!

It is what it is, old style personal pizzas, but I like it! The place has never been updated but it works. This is not gourmet pizza but it’s fun and its kinda good. Only one size, call ahead.

Good pizza. Clean store. The pizza is slightly over average thickness, but not as thick as deep dish.
The toppings were fresh. And it doesn’t take long to cook the pizza since they are all individual size. They also let you split the pizza toppings half and half.

Was in Biddeford and in the mood for pizza. Decided to go to Pizza by Alex. I love local business momma and poppa restaurant. They do one thing and they do it well. This local business have been here since 1960 folks and they are still around! If you don’t have a good product you can’t win.
Pizza at Pizza by Alex is a great pizza! You have to try it for yourself to understand all the five stars ratings reviews.
Their pizza dough is light, a little crisp, not soggy and just the right thickness. Not too thick and doughy yet not too thin like you’re eating toppings only.
We will be back next time we will try other topping pizza.

Pizza is great every time. I’ve never had an issue. Best pizza in town. Good service. They only sell pizza so don’t expect to get anything else. They charge a little more than everyone else, but the quality is worth it. They do it right. Keep it up.

Was visiting OOB and we had a craving for pizza. This place ranks very high on my list as far as pizza goes. My wife and I each got our own pizza (one size) and it was a perfect portion. My wife shared a slice or two with our daughter. We even bought my wife a t-​shirt on the way out! Go there you won’t regret it.

First and foremost, I’m an admitted pizza snob from NY. With that being said, I can appreciate other styles of pizza (Chicago Deep, Cali Flat etc), but I mostly end up saying things like «it’s not bad for being Non-​NY Pizza». Conversely, this was simply amazing on any scale. They sell pizza. Only pizza. One size. Tons of varieties. They know what they do well and that’s what they do.
I went out on a limb and ordered the Hawaiian, which was up in well under 10 minutes yet cooked to perfection. I intended to have a slice and save the rest for tonight after work, but it’s gone, and I haven’t even left the parking lot. Highly recommended and I would go out of my way to come back.

Really good individual sized pies. Go with the Alex’s Special in the Old Oven. Not the best pizza I’ve ever had, but probably the best in the immediate area. Definitely recommend if you’re looking for some food to watch the game with.

Some of the most amazing service and pizza in town! If it were free I’d go daily. Great pizza at a good price. I’ve never been disappointed with this place. It’s always in great shape and it has always had a great home feel to it.

Got a couple of late night pizzas here after a show at the City Theater. I was happily surprised! Perfect blend of sauce and cheese on the plain ones, and the Greek yaya one had spinach and feta and onions — oh my! As in OH MY DELICIOUS! Reasonably priced as well. We got them to go, did not sit in.

Love their pizza & that they stick to tradition. Unwilling to give in to the pressure of variety they make what they know and do it well. 10″ pizzas made the way they’ve always done it.
The yaya Greek is hands down my favorite but I’d eat any of them. Don’t look for alcohol when you go here it’s strictly soda.

This is my favorite pizza. No salads, no sandwiches, only pizza, one size. I cannot identify why I like it but I do. The majority of their business is takeout. They do offer seating and sodas. I like the crust. Not too thick or thin. I always get extra cheese and I like the brand of sausage they use. Not too salty. If you go you will be amazed how much take out business they do. There is a variety of toppings but this is a no frills divey kind of place. My kind of place.
Everytime I stop by I get reinvigorated on how much I like there pie.
