Being the only dog beach in the area, it can get packed rather quickly during the busy seasons. However, on the off-seasons this beach is pretty fantastic! Off-leash park so dogs must be monitored closely and I highly recommend that even if your dog is a good dog just keep a close watch anyways cause other people’s dogs have not been as trustworthy. Dog fights can happen. keep a close watch. The water is shallow enough for dogs to enjoy a good distance out into the water. Don’t bring food– it’s not clean enough for a picnic and you’ll definitely attract attention. Things to remember: a chair(not a blanket), sunscreen, leash, doggie water bowl, a water jug filled, and poop bags(although they are supplied at the entrance). Side note– please don’t bring your non-neutered animals here, animals can become aggressive and in my experience at this park it’s always the non-neutered animals.

I was really disappointed with most of the beaches in Florida. It is not pet friendly at all. I found one beach and when I arrived I saw a sign that said no dogs. I was told the dog part of the beach is limited and hard to find. I’ll stick to the California coast.

I have a Siberian husky who can NOT be off leash, but he does well at this place off leash. If the tide is out he can run back to the road but hasn’t yet. I wish some of it was fenced off but it’s still fun. Be prepared to wade through thigh high water to get to the beach if the tide is in!

What a great place! Off-leash beach where the water and sand are clean enough that you don’t have to worry about where you put your things. I don’t want to eat here, but I didn’t come for a picnic. I’ve been here twice, and both times the people have been very friendly, and the dogs have socialized well. We have one dog that can be aggressive, so we keep her on-leash. People have been respectful of that. We haven’t found a good dog beach near ft Lauderdale yet so we drive here from Coral Springs. It makes for a nice day trip. We like coming here.

This place is great! Make sure you check the tide schedule, it is a lot better when there is some beach to lay your belongings on. We go once or twice a week, great exercise for dogs!

What a great place to bring the dogs, I came down here recently on a trip to look at new property and was fortunate to find this ideal place to bring my furry kids to play. People there very friendly, responsible of their dogs behavior and doggy duties. Very clean and relaxing beach on the Gulf. My pups loved the environment and other furry counterparts as well. Bring a comfy beach chair, lots of liquid refreshments for you and your pups and doggy do do bags so that we all can continue this beach’s splendor.

Hard to find! But great once you get there. There are doggie bags at the entrance. What would make this place awesome would be a shower/water hose by the entrance. I can deal with no facilities, but loading up a sandy/muddy dog into the car isn’t ideal. People that traveled to this place clearly are responsible pet owners that care very much about their dogs. It was nice to see owners picking up after their pups and on the lookout for any fights to break up.

Wonderful Dog Beach. Great crowd, owners regulate their own dogs clean up and behavior. Nearby anchored boats playin’ their music, and doggy’s playin’ in the water. Bring your beach chair and plenty of water and doggy pick up bags… (SOUTHOFLOVERSKEYENTRANCEBEFORENEWPASSBRIDGE)
