Stayed at Lovers Bay resort for 2 wks, this is in walking distance and good food on the beach. Only problem just outside eating on the deck, pretty cool in the morning, although they do have covers around deck. And blankets if you choose.

First time, and I really enjoyed it. We arrived at 4:30p on a Tues and had a 1.5 hrs wait. I ordered the coconut shrimp which came with rice, asparagus, and sliced carrots. Everything was very very good, except the asparagus was soggy. Beautiful scenery on the bay, we even saw a dolphin family and watched the sunset.

It’s a great location. It is a little underwhelming for all its potential. My wrap was good. My husbands hamburger ordinary. My daughters salad was good and my sons mahi sandwich noticeably skimpy. Nothing was beyond expectations. No pizzas. I am short and the chairs had a bar that put my feet to sleep. No one else minded. Other wise the space is nice, the view scenic, the waiters friendly. There is a nice little deck and bar to wait if you have to.

Flippers is a spot on name! We saw dolphins swimming by as we waited. The scenery is blissful, looking out over the bay and watching the sun sink down. The parking was over filled, being that is snowbird season, so we had to park in the hotel parking lot. I did not call ahead, and this left us chatting on a picnic table for an hour, swapping tales while we waited for seating. The seating area is pretty small and upstairs, but they do have an elevator for wheelchairs. Our server was polite, fast, and always had a tea ready for me. Once we were seated the service was a breeze. I ordered the New England Clam Chowder and lobster macaroni. The clam chowder actually had clams in it, which is always a plus for me! The lobster was tender, and well seasoned, but the cheese on the macaroni wasn’t my favorite. The cheese tasted gritty, not what I prefer. The view and atmosphere was brilliant and definitely worth the wait.

Our waitress, Marina, was fun and knowledgeable about the food. She suggested the ceviche appetizer which was fresh and seasoned perfectly. I had the caprese salad and grouper. The salad was wonderful and the grouper was perfectly cooked. Everything was divine. We will return.

The staff are very friendly, as is common in the Ding-dong state. The food was delicious too. My fish tacos were the best I’ve had a a while. I had my mom’s fruit salad and that was really fresh. Loved every bite. Mom also enjoyed her grouper sandwich. The problem is with their mixed drinks. I’ve never complained about a mixed drink in my life, but something was terribly wrong with the Miami Vice. She made it twice and agreed something was wrong each time. Then we went upstairs for lunch and ordered the Key Lime Drink. There was nothing wrong, per se; in fact, it looked great. But I wasn’t wowed by the flavor of this drink. For the $ 10 price tag. it should certainly be better.

Great food and service, love the location sitting over the water. Mladen was our waiter and he was awesome.

My mother loved Flippers, so maybe I’m biased. I took my elderly father this week and we had a great experience. What I like most of all is the service. We were well taken care of and the food was great. I loved the clam chowder and the caesar salad with grilled salmon.

Went to Flippers today for lunch. Great location right on the water — it was chilly and the deck was cold(not enough space heaters for the temp). Our server was really nice, but not super efficient. We ordered & watched other tables get their food. We started with the chicken quesadilla & coconut shrimp… Very good. Then I had the fish tacos — not very good and ice cold… so sent them back and got the grouper sandwich. At least it was hot, but I would rate it as just ok. I will say they made a great effort effort to get the replacement meal out to me. I liked the view and the server… the food not bad.

Things happen. Flights get canceled. You lose your favorite shirt. You’re awarded miss universe and the host reverses it’s, saying he misread the card. These things happen to all of us, no? It’s about how you handle yourself when things go wrong. Flipper’s gets a five stars despite of committing one of my biggest restaurant faux pas, due to their ability to handle adversity and having the best dish I had while visiting my dad. I called ahead to let them know we were en route. Apparently they don’t take reservations but they will put your name down on a list if you’re on the way. Upon arriving the only seat was right by the entrance. We figured, why not? Flippers is located right on the water and has some breathtaking views. You can see right out to the gulf. Apparently if you’re lucky, you can catch some dolphins. What happened next, could have been a mix up or the bar could have been backed up. Whatever the case is, you can not serve people food before they get a drink. No, never. Don’t do it. I think it’s one of the worst things a place can do. It drives me crazy. Did our host relay the message to the bar? I’m not sure, but even if he did there is no way the food should be coming out first. The food has to be prepared, and cooked. And we ordered the food ten minutes after the drink. If it’s backed up, make sure our food is being kept warm or slow that down as well. My food should never come before my drink. It’s not acceptable. However, I’m letting it slide. It wasn’t at all our waitresses fault, and she was quick with every drink after that. Her service was amazing. The drink was tasty. A key lime pie frozen drink. Not usually a fan of those but figured I had to get one while I was down in Florida. The New England Clam Chowder was great. Even better though was the tuna civeche. It’s a large portion, with ginger on the side and some wasabi on top. That’s your best bet for an appetizer. The head chef came out and chatted it up with us. Very friendly and nice. He seemed to genuinely care about how people were doing. Then came our entrees. The crab cakes are good. Lots of lumps of big crab in there. Served over rice, asparagus, carrots, with some pomegranates on top. The best thing I ate while down there that weekend was the Red Snapper from here. Wow it was good. It was unbelievable. Served with a nice cream, bread, asparagus, carrots, and spinach. The only thing that wasn’t mouth watering good were the carrots. A bit harder than I enjoy them. What happened next also impressed me. There was a tornado warning that went off on everyone’s phone. Don’t worry we were all safe.(I mean hello, I was there) The tornado was a few towns over. The rain and wind was starting to pick up though. They quickly and calmly got to the deck. Put the tarp fast, and tight. No one was really disturbed or wet on that side of the restaurant. By us if was a little different. It was going down so hard that it was making its was under the entrance of the place, right where we were sitting. Someone quickly came over and gave my dad a cover for his shoulders, and then they just helped move the table over just a bit. My dad sat next to me(with those crab cakes) and we were all set. Luckily enough the check came, we paid, and sure enough the rain stopped. That’s Florida for ya. I would have maybe expected them to take a drink or two off the menu due to the confusion at first and due to the fact my dad got a little wet, but it wasn’t a big deal. I’m the end he enjoyed himself, that snapper was fantastic, and we were more than content.

We recently had lunch for our second time at Flippers and I’m sure we will be back again. Flippers offers a great atmosphere overlooking the water and the pool. The food is good — not food that I would rave about but also not disappointing. I feel that when you go to a place like Flippers, you are going for the atmosphere… not for a fine dining experience. I had the blackened grouper sandwich and was very satisfied. As for the drinks, my wife enjoyed her pins colada very much. I first ordered the Lover’s Key Rum Punch but did not like the sweetness of the neon green watermelon liquor added to the punch. The waiter was very accommodating when I brought this to his attention and he quickly replaced it with a Mai Tai which was delicious! Good food, great atmosphere, great service!

Absolutely amazing! I cannot say enough about this restaurant… Every meal I have had here is no less than amazing. I feel like in saying amazing a lot but seriously I can’t speak highly enough about this place. Chef Juan is phenomenal. A wonderful person and a chef that is truly the best I’ve been to. If you have a wait, then wait… It’s worth it… Thank you chef Juan and Ray for another amazing experience at Flippers!!! LOVETHISPLACE!!!

Outrageously good seafood from an amazing chef. I will not eat seafood at any other place in Ft. Myers after going here. The Campechana, shrimp cocktail was so good I wanted to pick up the whole thing and drink it. They use fresh tomato juice, clam juice, cilantro, lime. Jumbo shrimp, avacado and lump crab meat to make this incredible concoction. The squid was delicate and lightly battered not the tough and chewy rings that are taken from the freezer at do any other restaurants. I had the shrimp scampi and I’ve made it many times, this was done to perfection with the best quality and freshest of ingredients. I was truly sad to have to home and leave this gem of a restaurant behind. The view is fabulous, the service is outstanding and the food is the best you will find ever!

After hours of kayaking we stopped by for lunch. There were eight of us. We were seated immediately with a beautiful water front view. Our server was at our table shortly afterwards. Between the eight of us we ordered several items off the menu from cheeseburgers to fish and chips. I can say that the fish and chips were fabulous. Everyone was pretty pleased with what they had ordered too. The food was great and so was the service.

Nice outdoor restaurant with a beautiful view of the bay. It has a roof and clear curtains for rainy days. I ate there with my husbsnd. I had a frozen drink custom made with piña colada, strawberry and banana. It was delicious I do not like strong drinks and I could not taste the alcohol which is a plus for me. I had the grouper sandwich. I never had grouper before and really liked it. The fresh fruit was good too. I loved their strawberries. My husband had the fetuccini with fried chicken. He really liked it too. He said the chicken was good too and added to the dish. He did ask for additional sauce but he usually does. Our server was Chloe and she was very friendly and attentive.

This place is great. Mom in law had the fish and chips, wife had Tuna Ceviche, and I had the Blackened Grouper Sandwich. All were excellent!!! Drinks: mojito, bernardi margarita, and dolphin zone are all fantastic as well! For the price(maybe slightly over the average restaurant here) is so worth it. Servers are also professional and efficient. I’d highly recommend this place for a lunch or dinner! Breakfast photos look awesome as well.

Excellent from start to finish. We went for lunch, and we’re seated immediately at a waterside table. The service outstanding from start to finish, whether it was our waitress and her trainer(she was doing OJT) or the Head Chef, Juan Cruz, stopping to make sure we had enjoyed the food, this was an excellent experience. We had the campechana, which was an outstanding seafood appetizer, the Mahi tacos, the blackened Mahi sandwich, and the chocolate soufflé. All were top notch. As we left I asked when the dinner hours start, because we will be coming back for dinner tomorrow.

Macht weiter so!
