I ran away, and came here. It was perfect. The world needed to slow down for a bit, and my kids needed to chill. The lake was calm, and the scenery was a blessing. Much needed peace and quiet. Built a fire, had smores, and laughed our butts off as I tried desperately to maneuver a row boat! There is nothing needed here. Just a desire to escape for a while. We will be back. Happily.

If you are lookng for a humble, cozy, and clean place to spend a quiet weekend, then this is the place for you. It’s not a luxurious, high end place but, it is a very welcoming, outdoorsy, laid back environment. We stayed in one of the cottages over a holiday weekend and it was a very comfortable stay for us. We relaxed in the cottage with no one bothering us at all. Whatever we needed was taken care of immediately with a smile. Lisa, the Inn’s caretaker, went out of her way to ensure we had everything we needed. She was so sweet and attentive. Being city folk, we were not used to such genuinely helpful customer service. She was always friendly. We appreciated all of her helpful tips on where to go and the fact that there was no mandatory check in or check out time as long as the room is not needed at the time. She doesn’t like to put such restrictions on guests or, kick anyone out. Not many places are this flexible, even if the room is empty. She provided bycicles for us(FREE…along with any other toys we wanted to use in the area) and we took a nice ride down the scenic road where The Weyside Inn is located. Lots to see. I would recommend The Weyside Inn to anyone looking for a relaxing, laid back getaway and doesn’t mind humble acomodations. Comfort and clenliness are a MUST for me when I stay at a place overnight and this place definitely met my requirements.

Exactly what I was looking for — $ 70 for a spacious bedroom/bathroom in a quiet big old house, with fridge, microwave, outdoor grills, picnic tables, fire pit, swing sets, ancient pingpong table, bikes, on a pretty creek, and a short drive to countless Catskill peaks. I like to hike all day but not carry my own tent, but also not break the bank. There is a separate guest house with kitchen if you have a big crew. The owners are friendly and accommodating, and it’s not a doily-covered B&B.
