HOWFRIENDLYISTHEFRIENDLYBUFFALO? REALFRIENDLY !!! When I heard that the wedding reception I was going to was at a place that used to be an American Legion, I thought Hmmmm. I pictured some old, rundown, crusty dirty dilapidated building with us in the basement. HELLO, picture the exact opposite. A spacious newer building in immaculate condition. Boy, was I pleasantly off the mark. So this review is for the very large banquet room and the food and service for the wedding reception, not the bar area or menu food, OK? When you walk up to the restaurant from the huge parking lot, this larger than life Buffalo statue is mounted above the door. And even the website has a galloping Buffalo in the corner, just like from Dancing With Wolves. Maybe Kevin Costner is inside? What sets this banquet hall apart from most others, is that it is : a. already predecorated with permanent things like sheers with lights and hanging lights, darling wall decals of trees and birdies, and sparkley clean paneling. b. they provide a matching wooden podium, a lighted arch that they decorate to match your wedding colors. they have a back room chock full of candle holders, glitterati, mirrors, linens of all colors, and more, all to decorate and accessorize the tables. they even provide the white embossed aisle runner. maybe even the head table chair covers. c. Tom, the head honcho and his staff are almost as detailed oriented as I am. there was no server attitude here, seemingly just a sincere desire to help create a magical evening for the bride and groom. and teamwork! the executive chef was even introduced at the beginning of the meal . Then there was the FOOD … I guess the bride and groom couldn’t decide on walleye filets or prime rib, so we all got BOTH ! Hello protein intake. Include tasty cheesey potatoes and the obligatory green beans, and the plate was overflowing. In less than 10 minutes, everyone in the room was served, and all you could hear was the background music. All mouths were full with food and couldn’t talk. The first course was plated garden salads with a breadstick. Here’s another perk — there were about a million little kids in attendance, and ALL the children’s meals came out with the salads. Halleluiah. Truly a well planned and executed meal. Tom’s experience was evident in the whole evening. Just flawless. I did notice a couple server faux pas, but as a retired server I can’t help myself. We will pretend that we didn’t see those things, as all else was stellar :-) In a nutshell, this is the place to hold your wedding if this is your home stomping grounds. Whatever it costs, it is probably worth it. C A N W E H A V E A 1ST A N N I V E R S A R Y P A R T Y H E R E T O O?

My friend is new to the area so last weekend some of us girls came to visit and went out to find some decent spots to go out. We got there around 12 am and the place was packed! There was a pretty good band playing and lots of people dancing. We didn’t see all of the place-there seemed to be another area on the other side of a wall but we weren’t sure if there was a private party being held. We wandered back to where the game area was and saw 2 pool tables as well as the usual bar games. There’s a food area/bar where they serve pizza by the slice, which is a great idea. Not sure how late they stay open but since it was 12 when we got there and the bar closes at 1, I’m guessing they are open until then. It took my friends forever to get a drink since it was so packed but they said their vokda drinks were really strong and pretty decent priced as well. This place reminded me a lot of Wild Bill’s in the cities here, with the exception the crowd. There was a good mix of young people, as well as older people. We found a staircase that we ventured up-it looks like there’s a banquet room you may be able to rent out-there were people up there so we didn’t make it too far in. I think we’d definitely go back here if we had a big group of us and we mainly wanted to dance. We’d also come earlier next time to get a table.
