So good! Great stop for breakfast, lunch, or dinner. Breakfast was always delicious and so were the burgers. Will always frequent when in town.

Great diner! I had a shrimp omelette that was perfectly seasoned and a biscuit that was delicious. The waitress’ were friendly and professional and the bathroom was pristine! It’s a perfect place to stop for breakfast!

RJ and I ate here 4 times on our last trip in October! It was super busy the first morning and we were so disappointed they were out of sausage gravy. But we got it the next 2 days after that. 2 men asked me what I was eating because they wanted sausage gravy omelets too! Fast and friendly service, this is a great little breakfast spot.

I was here last when it was the Cracked Egg. The décor is definitely better. More beachy and the booths are much nicer than the tables they used to have. Place was nearly full. You can sit anywhere you like. We were waited on immediately. Our food came out fast. It was nothing fancy. The type of food an average cook would make at home. The French toast was good, a bit of cinnamon. Eggs were cooked perfectly, exactly the way we asked. The omelettes were okay. The only issues: the hash and the sausage patties tasted cheap. They weren’t very good. The grits were watery. The Pepsi was flat and watered down. With Big Pine closed, this is a decent alternative if you want breakfast out.

I was looking forward to the prior menu from Cracked Egg but was not too disappointed. The breakfast menu was simple and simply delicious. Pancakes, eggs, sausage gravy omelettes all yummy. The sliced buttered grilled biscuits were a nice touch. Definitely a local joint. Facilities a bit lacking in appeal but our food and service was really nice.

I loved the cute atmosphere and the staff! The food was café style. I had egg whites, toast and grits with bacon. All of my food was really good and I had a great experience. I would definitely stop here again and eat my next trip down to the keys.

Had a great menu, food options were available and they were typical of a café. Service was great and I would recommend this to anyone that travels down in this area.

Two of us had breakfast here at about 11am on a Saturday. We were greeted immediately and got a table right away. Décor is very plain. Food is simple and very good. I had eggs, link sausage, and hashbrowns. The sausage was unusually large and had good breakfast sausage flavor. Hashbrowns were actually nicely browned. Came with a homemade biscuit which was sliced in half and grilled. Also ordered a side of sausage gravy which was full of meat. Very good. My gf had a spinach omelet & we both had coffee. All the food was perfectly prepared and prices were reasonable. This place apparently used to be called The Cracked Egg. No atmosphere, not even for a diner; just good breakfasts.

Excellent little breakfast spot — basic diner fare, but well done — and service was New York fast!

Just as expected, excellent. Eggs were cooked to perfection, toast was perfect. If I had to find a flaw, I would say the only minor complaint would be, the bacon wasn’t as crispy as I normally like it. We’ve had a second home here since 2001 and never been disappointed by the cracked egg.

Formerly the cracked egg. The place sucked then and still sucks now. If your looking for breakfast fair head over to big pine restaurant or the Galley Grill.

It’s called the Keys Café now. Nice, clean diner. Great food, reasonably priced. Had eggs, potatoes, toast. Also conch sandwich was great!

We love love breakfast & this little deli in Daytona was perfect! My husband had an omelette«the kitchen sink» everything in it was delicious. I had the eggs Benedict with the sauce on the aside because I don’t like it period… but I gave this one a try and it was amazing! We will definitely be back! Thanks Unilocal for the suggestion!!!

Quaint keys diner with friendly service, good food, generous portions, and interesting characters to say the least. Needs a good scrub down but food is very tasty. Ordered the seafood benedict made with crab and scallops in a crab cake… pretty good!

Keys style Service and good food. Not sure why there are bad reviews. The food is solid and the service is interesting and entertaining. The ambience is fine. Hey folks this ain’t a breakfast joint at the Ritz. This place is exactly what I thought it would be, a keys diner on mile marker 30 something with good chow. Also, where can you hear a conversation between two servers at 845am talking about drinking wine and Jack Daniels to celebrate their Saturday evening lol. Food wise, I ordered pancakes and bacon, Belgian waffle and bacon, a bagel, a sausage and cheese biscuit with some home fries all to go. I drank some coffee and chit chatted with the servers which I enjoyed. They triple checked my order and I was gone. The pancakes were huge and my son couldn’t even finish them. He loved them. My sausage cheese biscuit was a monster, see pic. Great recommendation from one of the servers. The biscuit was like a red lobster one but with no cheese, no garlic taste or parsley. Same type of consistency. Very tasty. Overall good food for a good price too. I think I paid 29 and change minus the tip. I highly recommend this place BUT if you are looking for a fancy, squeaky clean, restaurant with butler style service don’t stop here. Keep going to the tip of Key West where you will find what you are looking for and pay 15 bucks for pancakes and bacon. Ill be waving at you from the parking lot of the Cracked Egg eating my big ass Sausage and Cheese biscuit with a hot cup of coffee. Remember to tell them Dan sent you and Stay Hungry!

A totally old school diner but the food is great(we went for breakfast) and the staff are very friendly!!! I highly recommend the seafood omelette. An interesting cross section of Americana hang out, my friends and I met some biker types. but everyone is friendly, a cool place. You get plenty of food and they have all the breakfast standards plus a lot of seafood stuff.

We stopped in here on our way out of town for a breakfast that was fairly tasty. I ordered the lox and very pleased with the large portion of salmon I received. The tomatoes on the side were huge and delicious. I only wish they had added a few capers. Everyone else at my table seemed pleased with what they ordered. The staff were kind and made special effort to talk with the kids at our table and tell them a few jokes. My only concerns revolved around the cleanliness of the place and that the bathrooms were a little scary. Having been a server myself, I understand that the condiments are often«merried» at the end of the shift. However, these bottled looked they had seen better days and probably needed to be thrown out. They were sticky and a little gross to use. Otherwise I was fairly happy with this down home breakfast place.

Went here with my wife on our way to Key West based on all the positive reviews. Here’s a summary of what occurred that has resulted in my two-star rating: 1. The place is dirty. I understand you could say that’s because it’s a «hole in the wall» but seriously, from the ketchup bottles that look like they’ve never been washed, to the general dirty atmosphere, it made us wonder what the kitchen looked like. 2. One guy who must be a local went into the kitchen twice to return his coffee cup and his dirty plate. Why was that allowed? 3. A sign outside said«Tell your waitress you love eggs and for any two egg order receive a third egg for free.» Cool! So I ordered the french toast with two eggs and bacon meal and told my waitress«I love eggs!» only to be told«OK well I’ll have to ask the owner if it’s ok… you’re not a local, are you? The locals don’t read that sign so the owner is going to think I told you to say that for the free egg.» Huh? 4. My wife ordered the same french toast meal and asked if she could try replace the blueberry french toast with the raspberry crème-stuffed french toast, the answer was«No, the chef can’t do that.» Even if you charged us an extra dollar or two? Really? I could go on and on… the place caters to locals who must have no idea what a bad place this is(I think there is only one other breakfast place in Big Pine) so they make their money off of them and those that stay at the motel next door.
