Excellent meal with great service. The best restaurant in Big Sky!

The food is creative, tasty and well presented. The red deer with the Duck bacon risotto is excellent. The Duck Bacon was beyond description and I even enjoyed the Brussel Sprouts. They also did an excellent job of accommodating my spouse who has Celiac. This is a restaurant that I would go back to and recommend to all.

Stopped in for a steak dinner, but was not delighted. Enjoyed a wonderful glass of Italian red wine with my meal, but my medium-well-done ordered steak was dry and not the least bit tender. I expect more from a steak house.

Great place with great game entrée options! It’s got a cool, hunting lodge vibe and the staff was really pleasant. The bison I had was perfect while my boyfriend’s game meatloaf was equally great. I also had the tater tots which were cooked to crunchy perfection! I would definitely recommend this place while in Big Sky.

The steaks may be good but our choices of Lamb T bone, which was so tough my wife could neither cut nor chew, and my pasta, which was so spicey you could not taste the shrimp were our worst meal in BS in years. Terribly overpriced with mediocre service living on old laurels.

This is my first time in Big Sky. We heard about all the great reviews about Buck’s T4 but I couldn’t have been more disappointed. I ordered the red deer wth risotto. Expecting to be served a luscious risotto, I instead received a cold risotto, cold brussel sprouts, and cold deer. The three others at my table also received luke warm food. After it was sent back and brought out for a second time, it was slightly warmer at best. It’s 20 degrees outside… do you think I want to eat luke warm food? I also noticed a sauce on my plate that wasn’t there before. These inconsistencies are not worth $ 39. Meanwhile it took about 20 minutes for the manager came over to the table to discuss the problem. For positives all I can say is that the food was well seasoned and the cup of tea was hot.

I had the pheasant quesadillas and the venison with risotto. It was absolutely delicious. I wish this place was in Austin. They have excellent service and ambience. Our server was Patrick, and he was outstanding. We were both pretty cranky after skiing all week, and he was helpful and ignored our exhaustion. If you are ever in Big Sky or the surrounding areas, you must go here for dinner. It is honestly not very expensive considering the quality of food you get. It is absolutely delicious.

Great service and food. Had to order 4 orders of calamari for 12 people since everyone loved it. Red deer entrée was a hit but I stuck with prime rib. Good martinis!

An authentic Montana vibe. One of the originals in the town of Big Sky and you can get the full history of Buck’s off their placemat. A family business for many years, it was sold in 2006 and then bought back in the aftermath of the financial crisis. While it’s no longer under original ownership the folks who now run it have been involved for a long time. The food is more inventive/creative than you’d expect in this fairly meat and potatoes town and was a James Beard award winner some years ago. Service was excellent and we really enjoyed our meal. I had the red deer(potentially game-y, but served medium rare and therefore quite tender) and the arugula salad(not as boring as it sounds!). Worth a visit if you’re in town!

Given the exterior I was expecting chicken fried steak. Was I so wrong. This restaurant is fabulous. Competes with a big city restaurant any day. I had the summer melon salad. It was prepared in three individual mounds(so fancy) with three different melons. I’m not even sure what the middle one was but I ate every last bit. Then I had the Banh Mi sliders. Out of this world. And jalapeño macaroni. Strange dinner combo, I know, but I wanted to try a few different things and not fill up on an entrée. I’m so glad I did. My husband’s dish had the truffle hash browns. Not a big fan of truffle usually but I kept stealing them off his plate. He loved his burger. Highly recommend.

Made reservations for a family gathering of 10. Ham shank dinner was delicious but rich. Kids’ menu tenderloin steak was outstanding. Garlic mashed potatoes didn’t taste like garlic, instead tasted like traditional homemade mashed potatoes. Others ordered ribeye steaks and said they were very good, but I thought the meat was surprisingly tough and bland for a ribeye(compared to the tenderloin). I ordered the trout, but felt the portion was small and rather mild tasting(perhaps farm-raised?). If you want Montana trout, I think the restaurant in Madison Crossing Shopping center in West Yellowstone is much better and half the price. The butter lettuce wedge salad was nice but overpriced. Very good burgers and fries.

Fine Dining in Big Sky! Have been to Buck’s many times. Consistently good food. The atmosphere is divine, seating is comfortable and private.

Simply amazing. Great game meat. Tried pheasant quesadillas red deer, duck several ways, trout, Korean short ribs and tater tots w truffle and pecorino. The duck several ways was sick… the best duck entrée I’ve ever had … Literally. Foie gras, breast, confit, yolk, head, whipped rendered fat and more. Effing amazing. Great wine list w a healthy repping from Washington state. Locally sourced and organic produce. 2 nights in a row. It is that good. Please go and ask for Matthew as your waiter. Enjoy!

The food and service and atmosphere here cannot be duplicated. It is real old west. My husband and I brought the kids, make a reservation, and we were seated immediately. We ordered amazing apps of mussels in coconut milk and seared scallops. They even brought me gluten free flat bread and a gluten free menu. Dinner was spectacular. I had the bison tenderloin which was better than any filet mignon. My 10 year old had the deer loin. My husband had a ribeye and my daughter the bison. We ate everything. Dessert was a warm skillet cookie. Could anything be better than this place in Big Sky? Doubtful. This place is a must stop !!!

Quit possibly the best steak I’ve ever eaten. Easily top three! I’ve eaten at dozens of higher end steakhouses and this one ranks among the best in my opinion. We had the pheasant quesadilla as a starter which was delicious. It was full of flavor and even the condiments with it were unique and tasty. For my entrée I had the most delicious NY Strip with mashed potatoes and fresh vegetables. The wine selection here is great as well as was the service. Try this place if you haven’t already.

Beautiful surroundings, great two night stay at good value, and they have microwave and fridge in each room! Delicious hot breakfast is included, and the menu changed every morning. It was a little bit too far from Yellowstone(because there are just so much to see), but we really enjoyed our stay.

I have stayed here numerous times and the customer service and rooms offered are the best in Big Sky. The hot breakfast they serve is outstanding, just wish it was served past 9 am for those of us that like to sleep in. Our rooms have always been clean and well maintained when staying here. The only complaint we had was that the rooms don’t have a lot of insulation/noise control. You can hear everything going on in the hallways and in the rooms next to and across from you. It’s rather unfortunate for light sleepers or for couples looking for a romantic getaway. On a recent stay, I forgot my cell phone charger and they held it for me until my next stay just a week and a half later. I was very pleased that it hadn’t been misplaced or lost by their staff in this time period. We were upgraded to a suite during our Christmas stay, which was a lovely surprise! I have not dined there for anything except breakfast. Their lounge is a great spot to grab drinks with friends, although they do close earlier than we had hoped. There are other bars around you can go to, but no food to be found after 9 pm in the Big Sky area in general. I would love to see some type of room service offered by Buck’s T-4, as we were quite hungry after a night out and our only option was their vending machine for snacks. Overall, I would highly recommend the Buck’s T-4 for lodging as they offer quality rooms and great rates with excellent customer service!

Ranch-style breakfast at Bucks T-4 started a brand new morning. A running theme of protein and carbs balance at breakfast is just very Montana: * Mini strudels, donuts, and freshly made cinnamon rolls(I love the cinnamon rolls!) * Fresh fruit like grapes, pineapple, cantaloupe, and watermelon * Toast and English muffins ready to be toasted to your liking * Variety of cereals * Fresh baked biscuit with hot country gravy(These were awesome as well!) * Hot scrambled eggs, country ham, and country-style breakfast potatoes

The trout was fantastic. The burgers are fantastic. The best was the cookie in the skillet. We will be back.
