Stopped here for lunch on our first day in Big Sky. There were six of us; we all ordered different things and they were all delicious. They had a nice selection of bakery treats, beer/wine, iced teas and local items. Grocery prices were high so we didn’t shop, but thought lunch was a good deal. Pick up a box of Wilcox’s ice cream sandwiches or bars, the price was only a tiny bit more than at the supermarket in Bozeman…

Review of their on mountain location at Big Sky Resort: Went and saw that most of the bread was expired on their plastic tie tabs. A few days later, I went back and all the plastic tabs were removed and replaced with metal ties. Very Very Sketchy!

It’s ok it’s over rated. Girls are a little edgy. Don’t know if I stop again. Two stops in past. Same outcome. So many other places around

The wifi works intermittently, which is nice. intermittently. The girls behind the counter seemed a bit frazzled and weren’t too kind. Maybe I just caught them at a bad time. The groceries here were outrageously overpriced, but this is a resort town, and I get it. We got a coffee cake, which was honestly a bit stale. For $ 2.00, we were disappointed.

I had the pleasure of visiting both locations(Big Sky Resort and Meadow Village), and found both offered quality items and friendly service. I definitely give props to the outstanding sandwiches. The prices are a little high but not unexpected for a resort area.

A really nice little grocery with excellent premium selection and delicious deli food. My go to every time I’m in Big Sky. A great stop for provisions. I love the cookies.

Pros: convenience store, sandwiches, to-go items. Cons: expensive. Has to contend with the new Roxy’s Market that opened 2 months ago. I hope that they will and have seen the writing on the wall; that they can become better at what they do, now that there is a full-service grocery in town. I found the service to be okay, prices to be double that in Bozeman. At one time, pre-Roxy’s, they might have gotten away with it. With very extended hours a possibility(till midnight), an alteration in what they provide(more convenience orientation), and slightly reduced prices on standard items, or combinations of those three, they could easily refit into a new climate now there is an actual grocery store in town. They do have WiFi! ~6mbs, 2mbs up.

The prices are easily twice what you’d pay in Bozeman. The clerks are snotty, making it even more painful to fork over $ 15 for a tiny box of Tide. I only buy something here if it’s absolutely necessary.

Cluttered little market/deli, had a great selection considering the size, but I was disappointed that there wasn’t enough trout in my trout bagel.

There are 2 Hungry Moose Deli-Grocery at Big Sky. The one at the ski resort area is spacious, clean and staffed by friendly people. The one in Big Sky village center isnt! Close by Country Grocer is better than both(and has 2 pubs close by!)

Great little grocer and deli. Yummy sandwiches and an outdoor patio. You can’t drink beer or wine on the premises however, there is a nice selection for purchase. Little and stocked!

We decided to stock up on a few things, a few days into our stay in the mountains, and stopped by HM to pick up some supplies. If the outrageous prices weren’t bad enough, the horrible, rude, condescending attitude of the staff is more than unwelcoming to anyone shopping here. The gal at the deli counter kept rolled her eyes at us when we made our order. If that wasn’t bad enough there was 3 employees standing around the front checkout counter and only one was actually doing any work. What a fiasco. Save your money, avoid the stress of dealing with these clowns — shop in Bozeman.

Yum! Delicious sandwich! I got the pastrami and Swiss with jalapeños and onions. I asked for a different type of bread and they were very accommodating. The atmosphere is definitely relaxed but that’s what makes it fun and different.

My favorite spot in big sky for a cappuccino, breakfast sandwich, and any sort of lunch items. Great selection of wine too.

Meat, coffee and beer. That pretty much sums it up. We stopped by the main HM location for breakfast supplies and beer. Prices are a bit higher that the normal grocery store, but this should be expected for the area, As small as the store is, HM had a good selection of meat. All of the sausage we purchased there was regional and very tasty. Some of the sausage was only 99 cents a pound. We found some good local and organic coffee that was quite good. HM has a coffee grinder that I used on some beans from California. HM has a good selection of local microbrews. We picked-up beers from Big Sky, Bayern, and Madison River breweries. HM has a deli in the back of the store for sandwiches/salads/soup/drinks. HM offers a grocery delivery service. The wine selection also looks good. It appears that everything HM sells can be ordered online, where you can also view the prices. We had a condo in Powder Ridge and didn’t realize that the condo didn’t have condiments left from previous guests. We purchased some salt/pepper/sugar later at HMs Mountain Mall location. We did not see an issue with the service. The staff was helpful and gave us boxes to take all of the groceries back with us.

You have to rate the price relative to what else is available in the area… and that’s pretty dismal, but it is what it is. I never had bad experience with surly owners/staff. What the market does offer is a good selection of quality products. The deli is a nice touch, and I’d give it a try sometime. I’d still rather buy my stuff in BZN, but if I’m in a pinch, I’d shop here.

We stopped in for a light lunch and to stock up on groceries for our four day vacation — seemingly the very scenario that this place was made for. We found easily found the deli and enjoyed the small seating area near the back. Our sandwiches didn’t disappoint, but the amount of chips on each plate seemed oddly sparse — almost as if they split a single-serving bag between our party of 4. For stocking up on the essentials(on vacation that means beer, wine, and gourmet delectables), we found many satisfying staples, albeit at somewhat elevated prices, but such is to be expected at a ski resort. And we were pleasantly surprised with the impressive wine aisles. You’ll find several notable Napa labels in addition to the more common grocery store picks, but be ready to hunt for what you want — as far as I could tell, the wines aren’t organized by price, varietal, or even region, so you may find a $ 65 Napa cab on the bottom shelf next to a $ 15 Italian chianti. My only other complaint is that the loaf of bread we brought home turned out to be significantly moldy upon opening the next day, but we probably should have checked it more thoroughly before we purchased it. Even so, it would have been nice to not have to On a more positive note, the coffee we selected from the bulk department was fantastic. I’m sad it’s not available back home, but it was quite a treat for vacation.

We learned a lesson about Big Sky, bring your own stuff before you get anywhere near here. I live in a tourist zone and this place makes it look like walmart pricing. We went in to see if they were cheaper than the previous days encounter at the gas station for fruit, at over $ 1 a piece, which we passed on. It looked promising. We see a bag of apples for $ 5 and grabbed it and went to pay, that was after seeing half a sandwich in there for $ 8.50, that was more bread than anything. The girl checking had been talking about the bar fight she witnessed with the guy standing by counter, nice, we put the apples down and the register says $ 7.99. We said no, they are $ 5 right on the sign. She acted completely air headed and ran her finger up and down a price book, you could tell it was a show. No, she says, but will give us a deal or charge us by the pound. I said, go look at the sign. Which is two feet from her register. She says, okay I will charge you $ 5 but she was sooooooo arrogant. I see it says $ 5.99 now, I said, no, look they are $ 5 for the bag. She said, I know, I fixed it. I said, but I see $ 5.99. she says, it will correct on the receipt when I put it in. NOITDIDNOT. So, I said, you still got us for $ 5.99. now I am working on the principle of the situation, since she is just short of a eye rolling little brat. She walks over there finally, and says, yeah, I see the $ 5 but we are out of the 9s that go there, and we just know to add them on when the customer comes up. Plus, you got a deal, they were $ 7.99 and I only charged you $ 5.99. OMG are you freakin’ kidding ME? I kept my dignity and walked out. If I were not trying to keep positive mojo on my Yellowstone Park trip, this would be a different review of how I got to meet the Big Sky police department. Please for the love of all things great, do NOT shop in here, read the other reviews and find a store before you get down here, load up the liquor, the produce, the drinks before coming into this area, and don’t support crappy behavior.
