I was expecting a wonderful dinner and experience after reading the reviews but boy was I wrong. We sat there over an hour waiting on them to «fill the table» before the habatchi chef would begin cooking then when it was apparent no one else would be joining our table, he finally shows up. We had ordered a California roll and it took over an hour just to get that. The cook started the«show» and it was same as all others with a few exceptions. Not only did he go out of his way to be extra loud, he literally burned the vegetables and eggs used for the fried rice. If that wasn’t enough, we watched him pour massive amounts of salts on the eggs, the rice the vegetables the shrimp, the steak and the chicken. Then he turns around and soaks it all with soy sauce, special seasonings and more salt. By the time we actually got our food, it was so damn salty we couldn’t even eat it. I spent $ 125.37 for 5 people who couldn’t eat their food. My husband has high blood pressure and is on medication but he ended up turning bright red, his face hot as hell and having a horrible headache. When the waitress noticed we didn’t eat our food, she offered to have them recook it in the back but we had already been there an hour and a half and had other plans after dinner. She knew we didn’t eat our food and never once went and got a manager or offered to take it off our bill. Before we left, my husband tacked down the manager and told her how disappointed we all were in every aspect of our visit but she only said this, «next time you come, make sure the cook knows prefer no seasoning«. I was dumbfounded and angry as hell. They are going to give their customers a stroke from the amount of salt and MSG in their food and they could care less so if you’re looking for great habatchi, I suggest habatchi express on 49 next to orange grove Walmart. At least you or your family won’t end up in the hospital with a massive stroke, you will actually be able to eat the food and enjoy it plus you will be out of there within an hour. Don’t waste your time, money or health on this place as they do not appreciate their customers at all.

At first glance, one would question the quality of a mall sushi joint. Honestly, rightfully so. But when everything else is fast food and you’re wanting something that won’t weight you down, well, this seems like the best option. The menu is diverse, and the even have a bento box option with a decent tasting teriyaki chicken BUT the food is bland, lacking flavor and even the gyoza tasted bland, bordering typical frozen box product(I still don’t know what roll I got, but it too lacked flavor where I couldn’t identify it). So, in regards to ranking it with other«mall sushi joints» is a 3 due to variety, but the lack of flavor brings it down to 2. Food is all about being an experience for your taste buds, and this sadly missed that mark
