Typical overpriced below average food. Server/bartender was nice. Overpriced draft beer, $ 5.50 for 12oz. Food nothing great. Nice place, nice location, but won’t last long. Definitely not worth the money.

We were so glad to see that Biloxi Lugger is now occupying this great, unmatched location for views. After reading many positive reviews here on Unilocal,we decided to give it a try… and we were not disappointed! They do now have a liquor license so since it was 11:00 a.m. on a weekend morning, why not start with a screwdriver to get things going. Then our first course of gumbo was very, very good! The menu calls it Sausage and Chicken gumbo but let me say there was more sausage and shrimp than chicken. Wonderful seafood flavor and just the right color and consistency… if you like gumbo and are looking for the real thing, this is it. We followed up with some great oysters on the half shell and a shrimp platter. The shrimp was delicious as well as the house made blue cheese dressing on the salad and the side of well-flavored green beans. This is not just a summer place… warm inside and great views even in the winter!

Let me start by saying every other reviewer on here must be the owner’s good friend. This place is a disaster. We sat on the downstairs porch and were surrounded by other extremely disappointed locals. We ordered raw oysters and requested that they be brought out before our entrées, as appetizers. After 45 minutes of waiting, our oysters finally arrive. Much to our dismay, the ice they were sitting on was half melted yet the cocktail sauce was borderline frozen. About 30 seconds after the oysters arrive, our meals showed up. Two of the salads we ordered were left off and we had to ask for them. The Caesar salads were a total disappointment. Discussed all of our concerns with the manager and owner’s son and they offered no compensation. The only redeeming quality for this place is the view.

View was nice and the service was very attentive. Granted I was the only person in there so I would hope it was attentive. I ordered the oyster platter with the corn and andouille side. The salad starter was okay but covering it with cheddar cheese made it less appealing. Cheese and salads only go well with some dressings so they should warn you when you select your dressing. As for the entrée it was cold. The corn was warm but sitting in a soup of buttery grease. The flavor was good but the soupy mess left behind was unappetizing. The cole slaw was tasty. The hush puppies and oysters were both cold. I would think something fried would be warm at least inside. I should have sent them back. Here is hoping I don’t get sick. I’m not sure why this place gets so many 5-star reviews. The service is good, view is nice, and the bar looks like it could get fun but the food is highly underwhelming.

We have been to the Biloxi Lugger twice now and the food was awesome. The portions are plentiful, enough for 2 to share. A bit pricey, but worth it. Freddie took care of us on both visits. Freddie you rock! Hope they do well as I would like to call this my local seafood go to place to eat on Friday nights. Keep up the good work!

Great local waterfront dining experience. Great place for bringing out of town guests to enjoy a first class southern seafood meal on the water by boat

Food was fantastic and you can’t beat the view. Started with Hog Hides. Very unique starter that should be a hit. Our food was fresh and came out quickly. Slight issue with getting the waitress to bring the bill is promptly but nothing of concern. Don’t let the construction hold you back. Recommended

To all our Biloxi friends and family. We recently ate at The Biloxi Lugger, formally The Hook Up. What a difference the food was fabulous. Dr Felix Allen, Biloxi born and raised is the owner. He has a shrimp boat and goes out and gets the shrimp so it’s cooked and served fresh. We had a burger that was fresh made. No prepackaged beef. It was the best I’ve had. Give it a try.

Yes yes yes. Not Your Father’s Rootbeer(beer) and boiled shrimp and a crab poboy and deliciously clean oysters and great service and AMAZING Bloody Marys and a wonderful atmosphere to cap it off. Sit outside and enjoy the breeze and good music selection! Mmmmmmm-mmmmmm. Not touristy at all except maybe for the prices… A dozen oysters raw were 13 bucks and they’re 5 at Mikey’s in Ocean Springs but it was worth every penny. Oh yeah – and the view is very pretty! Need a nap now.

What a wonderful change from the normal touristy ‘we have seafood(overpriced and tons of fried)’ of Biloxi. As fantastic as thee food was, our server, Freddie, was fantastic. 2 shrimp boil platters, fish tacos, raw oysters(so, so clean), fried green tomatoes, ans shrimp plate were all delicious. We were even given samples of their gumbo. Amazing. I’ll be back for that alone! Food delicious, absolutely wonderful service, can’t go wrong here. Thanks for a wonderful meal and evening!
