The Belmar Pub in Binghamton has started to sell BBQ on saturdays and sundays for the summer. the ribs i’ve had have been consistently tender and never dried out, but i feel like they could stand to be smokier. that’s actually my general complaint about the rest of their meat too, it’s good but it needs more smoke! The chicken and pulled pork were also good, the pulled pork had a great texture that most restaurants around here can’t seem to get right, it’s actually pulled into nice big strands instead of shredded into little bits. they have 2 sauces here too, one of which is a generic bottled sauce but the other is a spicy house made sauce that’s pretty good. unfortunately the sides taste different every time i eat them. the first time i had the baked beans they were amazing, they put chunks of pineapple in them and i’ve never seen that done before, they were great! the 2nd time i had them i think they used a different brand of beans and they weren’t nearly as good. the potato salad and mac salad can also be very good, but other times they need a little something extra, but usually they are pretty good. also, the cornbread that they have here is great, probably the best in town actually. so overall while there are a few faults, you won’t get a bad meal if you eat here, so stop in and enjoy some good ‘cue.
