The waffles here are so good! Also, love the services here. It’s just incredible. Definitely going to be eating here again.

Get the bacon!!! Service is good. Sometimes there is a long wait, but its worth it. Ive been here a few times and its hard to stray from the«Big Bad Breakfast» because its so good. French toast is unbelievably crispy and delish. Oh and the biscuits are THEBOMB.

Big Bad Breakfast was NOT that great. In my opinion the food was NOT seasoned to my expectations. I ordered the chicken and waffles and the waffle was extremely thick and unpleasant to eat. I didn’t finish it. My friend who joined me for breakfast ordered pancakes, chicken sausage and potatoes. The only thing he ate was the pancake. We wasted $ 20 on breakfast and would not recommend this restaurant. Extremely disappointed.

The t-shirts read, «Lard Have Mercy.» Haha. Finally got to try this place after waiting years, so excited. Chef/owner John Currence from Mississippi has won a James Beard Award, and my best pal enthusiastically recommended Big Bad Breakfast. David Chang of Momofuku fame is also a fan of the original BBB in Oxford. And Mr. Currence teamed up with the Jim ‘N Nick’s team to set up shop in Birmingham. All good enough reasons to go for me! Our large group was seated without a wait around 1PM on a Saturday. Our waitress was beyond friendly, not to mention attentive and helpful. After much deliberation(if you like eggs, you’re in luck here), I went with the Big Bad Breakfast skillet($ 10) since it seemed to have a little of everything: three eggs scrambled, mixed with cheese, hash, onions, ham, bacon, and sausage. The meats are all actually made by Big Bad Breakfast, neato. Mmm, superb! Very filling and delightful. I recommend getting the generous biscuit for your side; it comes with peach and/or strawberry jelly, made by BBB. And butter of course. I was team strawberry since it was a little more muted on the sugar, but peach got love from our table too. But if you don’t dig biscuits, you can request toast. Everyone else was stoked about his/her dish, and I got a few compliments for picking out Big Bad Breakfast as our brunch destination. Bathrooms were fine, and parking isn’t an issue due to being in a strip mall. I’ll definitely swing by BBB again when I’m back in Birmingham. With additional Birmingham-area locations opening in the future, hopefully an Atlanta branch will spring up someday.

If you’re a fan of an old fashioned, eggs & bacon, breakfast, you’ll like this place. I have a more diverse pallet and enjoy omelettes with tons of different ingredients. This place is fairly simple. They take pride in their eggs, bacon, sausage, and biscuits. A little pricey, but not too bad. I’d rather cook my own gourmet omelette or even my own eggs. But interesting place for 1 or 2 experiences. Avoid Saturday and Sunday mornings! Busy.

First thing I noticed when I walked in were the host and servers with smiling faces, nothing brightens a Sunday morning better. I ordered the Cajun omelette, it consists of crawfish, andouille sausage with tomatoes and onions. The omelette comes with one side and an order of a biscuit or toast. I had the red potatoes, biscuit with side of homemade jam! The cherry on top was the Octane coffee they sell. I have no complaints about this place.

We finally made it back to BBB… So here goes the BBB review reloaded. Upon our arrival there were people outside waiting to get in on Sunday morning around 9am. Not a good sign for diners with a 21 month old temperamental little girl in their party. The owner manned the host station and couldn’t have been more at home there interacting with customers. We were seated well before the conclusion our estimated 20 minute wait and served equally promptly. My son had the french toast with bacon and fresh squeezed OJ. The bacon and OJ actually made him giggle… The quality of products served here is far higher than his other favorite breakfast place WH. The french toast was good, the whipped cream topping was so sweet that a 10 yr old turned it down and scrapped it off the french toast. My wife had the pork chop with scrambled eggs, biscuit and potatoes — liked my meal last time so much she ordered it herself… she didn’t share but it seemed like she enjoyed her meal very much. The unique biscuit threw her off a bit/it’s a little different. My daughter had a kids pancake and a strip of bacon/I’m glad they had a few kids meal options. A lot of cool trendy places forget to do that or expect you to pay 10 bucks for a toddlers meal. I had the Creola Skillet — crawfish and andouille sausage peppers onions potatoes topped with scrambled eggs and cheese… The only problem with my breakfast is that I didn’t have it again this am. The fresh brewed Octane coffee tops the list of my favorite things about this place. I introduced myself to the owner upon our departure and reminded him of our correspondence. He was very gracious and appreciative of us giving his place another shot. My family quite enjoyed the experience and I’m sure we will return. The meals avg $ 10.00 each, the liquid gold fresh squeezed OJ carried a price tag of $ 4.00, the server informed us that there were no refills on my wife’s hot tea which isn’t typical in most places, was even free refills last time we were at BBB… Breakfast for 2 adults, 1 child that eats like an adult and 1 child was just shy of $ 60.00, w/o tip, a bit pricey for breakfast for my family. We will enjoy this place as an occasional treat.

Best fresh squeezed orange that I can find outside of my home state of Florida. So satisfying. I’ve never had a bad meal here. Everything hits the spot just right. The biscuits are amazing with their homemade jam. Love the skillets and French toast Can’t go wrong with Big Bad Breakfast!

Really enjoy coming here for a great Big Bad Breakfast. Service is friendly, and fast. They always keep your coffee and water full. The French toast was heavenly. My husband had the sausage gravy and biscuits. Great portion size.

My husband and I stopped by to grab brunch here after church last weekend. Things looked pretty crowded, so we were pleasantly surprised to have a short wait(even slightly shorter than the hostess’ estimate of 15 mibutes). Our waitress came by quickly to grab our drink orders and see if we had any questions about the menu. I ended up ordering the yard work scramble, and if I’m being honest, I thought the biscuit it came with was amazing but the egg scramble was just ok, maybe a little on the bland side. My husband got the low country scramble and devoured it before I got a taste, so I’m guessing he was pretty pleased with it. Overall, between the good service and delicious biscuits, I’m willing to bet we’ll be back for breakfast/brunch/lunch sometime relatively soon!

If I could curse, I would! This was soooo freaking good! Great service and we went with the recommendations of our waitress of the BBB Skillet and the Eggs Benedict. Outstanding selections. The biscuits aren’t the norm so it gave a fun twist to an old favorite. We had chocolate milk and hot chocolate for good measure! If you love breakfast, this is your joint. Be prepared to wait a half hour, give or take.

Ehhhh, not a favorite. That’s probably why it took so long to write a review. Nothing memorable. We got here pretty early on a Saturday morning(we beat the breakfast crowd yay) & went straight to the bartop to grab a seat. Now y’all should know me by now… I love a good cocktail. No matter what time of day. Judge me not lol. The first thing I noticed here was the ridiculous price for a regular standard mimosa. It was like $ 8 or $ 9 ! Wtf? For this spot? Umm no. So no cocktail for me. I really wasn’t super hungry so I got the Big Bad Biscuit with the country ham. No sides. It was pretty OK. A little on the dry side but you can definitely tell it was made from scratch which is a plus. My date got the veggie scrambler. It was pretty decent as well. Overall decent service… food gives you that«old country» «down south» feel with homemade biscuits & their own brand of local meat. I would try this place again but it’s definitely not my go to breakfast/brunch spot.

BIGBADBREAKFAST… sounds awesome. Sounds fun. Sounds like the best breakfast you will ever have… but, I don’t know if it is. Service: No issues here. The staff has always been friendly and I love how positive the environment seems. Quality of food: Food is great. But, it’s just missing something… Hands down, you must order the home made biscuits when asked. They are freshly baked and in my opinion, they are the food form of Heroin.(Plus, make sure you try all of their jams and jellies… really good!) Overall: I don’t think this is the best breakfast spot in Birmingham. I am not discrediting this place… I really enjoy it here and so far, everything I have ordered has been super good(Eggs Benny was 7÷10… eggs were overcooked. The homefries are off the charts… they season them very uniquely and I think I could have ate two plates of potatoes.) Some of their food options just seem to be missing something. Maybe they just don’t dress the plate up well enough or it may just be the fact that they plates they use are the size of the table and therefore everything else seems to be disproportionate. But, I am still choosing Over Easy or Another broken egg every time. Would I turn this place down? No. My friends ask if i want to go to breakfast and they recommend BBB… I am all in. You won’t be disappointed.

Ohhh em gee! I’m so happy we found this spot in bham. Our server was the nicest lady we’ve ever met. Her service was impeccable! She had suggestions that were spot on. I had the Big Bad Breakfast with a side of sausage gravy for my biscuit… A MUST, the best sausage gravy I’ve ever had! Everything down to the crushed ice in my water was great. Their bacon soaked in bourbon and hot sauce with a sugar rub was outstanding(and I don’t eat meat often, worth every bite). Thank you for a great experience!

I did not expect to find this good of a breakfast place all the way out on 280 in the land of chain restaurants but here it is. This place is awesome and from what I have been hearing it is completely mobbed on the weekends. We rolled in on a Monday morning and were able to be seated immediately. The staff was super friendly and informative. We ended up going with an egg, bacon, and cheese biscuit, the La Creola, and the Low Country Scramble. Everything was great with the highlights being the housemade bacon and the biscuits of course. Their housemade jellies were also on point. Next time we are down in the area this will be the must-hit breakfast place.

Returned and glad we did. Had the iced coffee and creole omelette again and bot were perfect. Also wife and I shared a pancake on the side and it was very good. Light and well done with real maple syrup. This place is a keeper. At the top of the breakfast places in town. Now just move closer to downtown and I’ll be there every morning.

Ummmm… how have I lived here for years and never been to Big Bad Breakfast? So many uneaten amazeball meals that I’ve missed out on. It’s criminal! Fam and I went early on a Sunday. It’s hidden behind the Krispy Cream at the end of a strip mall. Whatever you do, do not waste time at Krispy Cream. There was a short wait. We said we would take first available which happened to be outside and it was a nice day. Waitress was prompt, filled our drink order. In a truly unlike me manner, I did not order coffee and boy do I regret it now after reading the reviews of how good the coffee is. Oh well, guess I’ll have to go back. The waitress came back with perfect timing for us to order. The girls each ordered off the kids menu, one got pancakes and the other eggs and biscuits. My oldest loved her biscuit. They make their own jelly, peach and strawberry. She smothered that biscuit in peach jelly and went off to breakfast heaven. Hubs got a biscuit and gravy. He picked the red eye gravy, they have a smorgesborge of gravies. Yet another reason to go back, must try them all! To accompany his gigantic cat head biscuit he got andouille sausage, which they made. Thank goodness we could buy some, they sell the bacon and sausage by the pound. If we hadn’t of been able to I don’t know if I could have gotten the hubs out of the restaurant. Me I went with the bourbon French toast, need I give a reason? I was a bit worried that the bourbon would be overpowering, but no, it was balanced perfectly! I got bacon to go with mine, unfortunately not the spicy bacon, I was sharing with the little one. Next time I will completely disregard the desires of my small leach and get the spicy. I had a hard time keeping my daughters little paw pads off the bacon, she wanted it all! The bill was a bit on the steep side for breakfast, but oh man, it is so worth it. Quantity, quality, service, all came together to make one of my top breakfast experiences ever. I’m sliding it into number 2! My number one is in Chamberlain South Dakota… and we will drive through that little town again just for the breakfast. Husband thinks the gravy at Big Bad Breakfast rivals the Chamberlain experience.

Off the meatrack! Greeted immediately as I sat at the bar and ordered coffee and water. One of the most popular dishes on the menu was in my sights: Creole Skillet! Shrimp, Andouille Sausage, Cheddar & scrambled eggs, and roasted potatoes. I also ordered a side of Big Bad Bacon which has a slight kick! Delicious choice as their signature side! Their toast comes with both apple butter and a blueberry jam… both fresh with smooth texture. Bring a pillow or a snuggy! Thanks for the great service Antonio!
