This place is not so easy to find, They do have a tall pole sign with the name posted right on the Western side of Woodward, just south of Lincoln, but it easy to miss and I found myself driving past it a few times. The shop itself is really not on Woodward, but rather in a small side parking lot off the street and out of the way. So id you are looking for a storefront on Woodward, you won’t find one.
Once I found the store, and brought them my failing lock cylinder, they had it working smoothly in seconds. In fact, they didn’t even charge for a repair since the problem was caused by a stuck part that they immediately freed up with WD-​40. I did get a new key made, but that didn’t cost much at all.
They seem knowledgeable and certainly seem to be honest. It is good to know places like this one as craftsmen that know their trade are getting harder and harder to find.
Most locksmiths operate in virtual mode now and do not have any retail presence. You can call them to come out to your location to get into your house or car or to get door locks rekeyed if you move into a new location, but they want to come to you and that of course means scheduling and charge for a service visit. I like that nobody came to my house, that I was not charged a mandatory service fee and that I could just walk in and get the job done.
I fee comfortable recommending this place to others.
Oh, one other detail. I went there expecting to use my credit card, but they had a sign posted saying that their credit card terminal was down. So I suggest bringing cash or a check.

We are building a new home and had a complicated mortise lock to be installed. Birmingham locksmith was suggested by the retailer as a reputable installer. Bob was very helpful and professional when I called. He coordinated with our builder, provided the necessary insurance documents that they needed and showed up at the agreed upon time. He did a great job and we are very satisified. Highly reputable.

I’ve been going here for years for both large jobs and small jobs. They are reliable and do great work. It’s a unique operation.
