Locked In: The Birmingham Escape Game

What an unique way to spend time with friends. Decided to try this for my birthday and we all had a blast. Unfortunately, we didn’t get free but we did get to the final step. Definitely cant wait to go back now that I have a grasp of the concept! This place is good for Birmingham!

Before we tried Locked In, I was talking to someone who said they could think of much better ways to spend their money rather than waste it on this experience. I decided to give it a shot anyway and I’m so glad I did!
5 of us participated in «The Classroom» (the hardest and newest experience). You’re given an hour to complete the challenge and we were able to finish with about 4 minutes to spare!
We weren’t quite sure to what to expect. None of this is scary or haunted. If you’re concerned you might get «stuck» in the room, at any point you can press the green button next to the door to exit in to the hallway or to use the restroom. However, you are against the clock so try not to leave the room. The hour goes by quick!
The overall goal is to find a 4 to 6 digit code to unlock the door before your time is up. The code is NOT in plain site. You will have to find clues that unlock different parts of the room to crack the code. If you’re getting stuck on one thing, move on. Let someone else try and take a crack at it. Not everything in the room will be used so don’t get too distracted. Time is of the essence so move fast!
I highly recommend you give this a try — I want to come back and try the other two challenges now!

Great place to visit! Went with my co-​workers and our challenge was the Warehouse. We broke up in a team of about 6 people. We escaped with about 5 minutes remaining. I would definitely do it again! Thanks for having us!

Went with husband and nephews on a Saturday (book early) and we did the Museum. We were with 4 others that we didn’t know but they were a fun group and we worked well together. I won’t give away anything so I will just say that this was a great way go spend a Saturday night and I will be back to do it again!

This review and my review of the other escape place in Birmingham are pretty identical because the places are. You wont go wrong with either. This is such an amazing experience! You are locked in a room (don’t worry they have a panic button by the door). They play a little video giving you a setup and then BAMM! you have 1 hour to escape. They have multiple rooms that have nothing to do with each other so you can keep going back to try something new. each room allows 8 people. You can book all 8 slots and go by yourself or you can just book what you need and you may or may not get paired with someone else. Parking is plentiful right next door. We did the Museum room. Locked in a room with a killer returning in 1 hour! Clues, lock boxes, lasers, keys, secret compartments! it was so much fun! As you find clues and progress you get free clues. We had a phone in the room we could call to redeem our clues. Missed the record by 12 seconds! If you have never done an escape adventure you must do this. If you have done them before this wont disappoint.

This place is so fun. Much like the review I made for the other escape room place here in town, I just love the whole experience! You are locked in a room with a panic button by the door and, for one reason or another, you have one hour to get out. They set up the scenario by playing a short video and your time starts to tick away. Have no fear about being put together with strangers… I was concerned because I am a control freak, but the situation lends itself to teamwork, not conflict, so it’s not as awkward as it may seem. Had to park down at the end of the strip mall it was in, and I am not sure we were in legal parking spaces, but we didn’t get towed, so it all worked out. We did the Museum room. We found clues, used them to unlock puzzles and had a blast all along. If you have never done an escape adventure you must.

Pretty fun outing. I did it in a group of 6. One person was with me, and a group of four was paired with us. We got out of the medium difficulty room in about 40 minutes without too much duress.
There were about 10 – 15 separate puzzles that needed to be solved including some super basic cryptography. This could easily be a family outing, as I think a group of reasonably intelligent middle schoolers could solve the puzzles.

Amazing, fun, unique, recommended!!! Cant wait to try the other 2 rooms! It was definitely a neat way to spend some time with friends. I would recommend this to anyone looking for something different to do in an amazing city

I came here with my family and friends on a Sunday afternoon. We were able to book the night before for a group of five. We chose an easy level as we were mostly first timers and chose the Museum room. Being a first timer I really enjoyed it! If you’re not familiar with the premise you essentially are locked into a room and as a team you have to figure out the clues in order to «escape» the room. It was not at all scary (I got this question a few times). I felt safe the entire time as you can exit the room if you need to for bathroom breaks (etc) as needed. It was definitely challenging even though it was an «easy» level. I recommend going with a group so that you can all put your heads together to crack the case. I look forward to going again soon and trying a more difficult level!
PS– you are not allowed to bring your phones or bag/​purses into your room. They have a little basket in the hallway just before you enter the room to store your items. Good luck!

fantastic. challenging, unique, the most fun thing I’ve done in Birmingham. I did warehouse with my friend and 6 other strangers. great way to meet new people and enjoy Birmingham. I couldnt recommend this place more. I’ll be returning to do the other two rooms!

Such a fun thing to do with a group of friends. The staff was super awesome as well. This will be a fun thing to do in Birmingham for years to come as they get new rooms to try.

Great activity!!! Had a blast! Highly recommend this place! A great idea for families or couples to do!
