Not being the typical Birmingham Size 4, I did not have great expectations when my trainer told me about this place. Then I dropped in one day and my mind was changed.
We have plenty of boutique shops in the ‘Ham — so many that my fashionista cousins come from Atlanta to shop. But they’re pretty much all the same: Over finger-​fondled racks of cute clothes in a store, employing girls who are more interested in their sorority sisters’ instagrams than they are the customer holding the platinum Amex card on the other side of the counter. It’s unfortunate, to say the least.
Then there’s Manhattan South — Where you can secure «up to the now» fashion finds and where the owner is a little laid back and more of a businesswoman than anything else. Simple as this: She wants to deliver a product that stands out from the rest, without breaking the bank. She strives for supreme customer service and that makes her boutique a place I want to shop. I could go on about the personal service I get when I need something specific, but there’s more to it than that. I know that when I shop at Manhattan South, I get something that I am not going to see on everyone else in the ‘Ham. They are very particular about maintaining the exclusivity of the lines they carry. And I appreciate that.
Plain and simple: the owner of Manhattan South cares about her clients, and it shows in everything she does.
