Ever Since New management has taken over the food has been great. They changed the menu and the sandwiches are great. You Must try the hummus and meat appetizer.

I have to go back and up my Pita Café(as I have it as 2 stars currently) review to 3 stars after this place… First off, it’s literally a café, there is no waiter service and the food is served on paper and plastic plates, which isn’t a huge deal but plastic forks too? The lentil soup leaves much to be desired. The hummus was quite good, but you know the bread was totally store bought and we had to ask multiple times for more, as we were not going to waste half a dish of hummus! We also just wanted ice water to drink, which took forever and a day to get to us. I did really like the idea of one of their salads with beets, chickpeas, cucumber… sadly it was all chopped up and included the tomato I had to pick around(not their fault) but it would have been nice to know it did come chopped and included NO lettuce… it would have been good if the dressing didn’t suck… I don’t know, I was here a couple weeks ago, but I doubt too much has improved… I never thought Pita Café would be the spot to go in downtown bham for middle eastern(obviously Phonecia is, but who can afford that for a quick mid eastern fix?). The folks there were nice, but they gotta step it up if they want to survive, since parking sucks for their location too.

I was skeptical about this place from the get-to. Walked in and the lady said she was«filling in» for someone and the cook seemed clueless. But the food turned out to be okay… Vegetarian Grape Leaves Combo. Pita Bread looked like it was brought from a Kroger though, not even cut into triangles. Nothing special. a bit pricey for what you get… probably won’t go back.
