Awesome coffee house. Very unique. Food is delicious(I had an egg and cheese panini). The snicker doodle mocha was the best coffee drink I have had in a while. This place is unique and fun. A must if you are in the area!

Some people call me a coffee snob, I agree. So when I first moved to Birmingham I asked about the best coffee shops around. O’Henrys was the l unanimous suggestion. The coffee is so rich and creamy, make Starbucks taste like water and dirt. So what I’m trying to say is, I love this place. Prob wouldn’t be you typical daily morning coffee stop, my drinks usually comes to about 5 buck and change, but it’s so worth it! Haven’t had a bad drink from here yet.

Quaint coffee shop in a convenient location. Nice variety of coffee and flavored coffees as well as pastries and cakes. Limited seating area gets crowded quickly. Staff ranges from pleasant to disengaged.

Great atmosphere, but I was not impressed with the quality of the drink I had. My friend and I ordered a pour over, but it tasted like nothing more than a drip press coffee.

A great little coffee shop — feels like you’re right at home. I love Starbucks as much as the next girl, but when you’re wanting something a little more authentic and homey this is definitely my go-to. The times I studied here after classes I really enjoyed the atmosphere over a Starbucks. Friendly staff too!

This place has the best peach muffin I have ever tasted in my life! I have no idea whether they bake it themselves or it’s bought in but I would go back to visit to just get one more(or a dozen) of those! And the coffee wasn’t bad either!

Super friendly staff who know their coffee! Even gave me a small cup just to try their flavoured coffee as I was deciding what to buy!

This is my favorite of the O’Henry’s in Birmingham. I just adore the atmosphere the whole wall of coffee beans creates. The ceiling had these antique gorgeous tiling on it, and the room just screams study in me! I have pretty much always gotten a regular cappuccino, but those fresh smoothies look amazing. I recommend trying one of their baked goods– I love their cranberry orange muffins, but you can’t go wrong with a slice of apple pie. The service in here is friendly and seamless.

I stopped by O’Henry’s Coffee to grab an iced coffee on a hot day while out doing errands and I had a wonderful experience! Moving from Seattle — I was in need of a cool local coffee shop and I’ve found it! Customer service was great and quick; there was just one girl working behind the counter but she was super efficient and friendly when I asked about their summer seasonal items Definitely will be my coffee place to do some work and relax :)

I am having my first o’henry’s experience this morning! I am pleasantly surprised at the quality of their coffee and food. Plus I received excellent customer service. I have a goal to experience as many local shops as possible here in bham and I must say I don’t know that I want to try any others after this. I tried the regular coffee of the day which is indian tiger and the lemon poppy seed muffin. The coffee didn’t need too many extras like sweetener, etc the flavor was so nice. the muffin was moist and had a very fresh lemon flavor that was natural and not over powering.

A friend was in town and we wanted to just find a nice place to sit, chat and catch up. What an incredible gem we found when we stumbled upon this place, in the trendy SoHo area of Homewood. The seating was fairly intimate and there was just about a full house when we were there on a Tuesday afternoon. I am quite indecisive so I usually always take the first suggestion I get from an associate. I had the SnickerDoodle Mocha, I don’t know what to say but heavenly. I can taste it all over again now, the masterful blend of chocolate, hints of cinnamon and a breath of hazelnut, all of which came together to cascade across my tongue into yummy town. I am recalling the experience and flavors so deeply that I am at a loss for words. Try it

O’Henry’s is one of my favorite go-to coffee shops. I am not a go to a coffee shop multiple times a week kind of person. But when I do, I like a good quality shop. The location is great. In Downtown Homewood, which is a personal favorite of mine. It can get a little crowded in there at peak times. But that is a good problem for them to have. It is a great centralized location for a place to meet people. Their coffee is always great. But around the Christmas holidays, there is something in particular that should be a Bham bucket list item. The gingerbread latte! I am not a huge flavored latte person. But this thing is the bees knees. It almost makes me want winter back… almost.

During a recent visit to town, a friend and I stopped in twice. It’s obvious this place is a local favorite for coffee and baked goods. On our first visit, we arrived around the time they opened. We were there so early, they were taking the fresh baked muffins out of the oven! I ordered a Café Mocha which is essentially dessert in a cup if you agree to the whipped cream and chocolate syrup. The cappuccino chunk muffin was delicious if you feel like splurging and are not counting calories. I really didn’t have any regrets polishing it off. There are plenty of tables– both hightops and regular tables. The clientele is a mix of students, families, young professionals, etc. There are also plenty of items for purchase that would make fun gifts– ground coffee, coffee mugs and all sorts of little random knicknacks. Browsing seems to be encouraged. Skip Starbucks and check this place out.

Went to O’Henry’s for an evening Bible study, and found the atmosphere fantastic! After seeing all the reviews for the Snickerdoodle Mocha, it was my obvious choice. It was very good, and tasted like I dunked a Snickerdoodle cookie into a cup of coffee. I’d call that a win. I love downtown Homewood, it’s absolutely adorable, and this coffee shop fits in perfectly. O’Henry’s is super quaint with a massive selection of beans to purchase. The menu is very succinct, which is definitely a good thing for a small joint like this. Keeps it easy on the barista to produce good quality drinks. It was a little loud inside, but it was also filled with a bunch of college students chatting and studying. I’ll definitely be back to try some of their delicious-looking cakes!

This is a place that can’t go wrong. It’s coffee guys. This is really hard to mess up. If you’re looking to save on calories though, then you’re out of luck. Now this location in particular never has any available seats on the inside, so if you want to sit, then find another place. I’ve visited this location mainly for the drinks. It’s almost understood(personally that is), that you grab your drink and leave. Not sure if this helps, buy I hope you stop by and try out this neat little shop. Have a Latte fun!

First of all let me say, I am an avid coffee drinker. My day doesn’t start without a latte. Ive been all over the US, and with every place I have been, I have visited an independently owned coffee shop. O’Henry’s is one of the best coffee places I have ever been to. I usually get their unsweetened iced lattes or coffee. Both are a dream! I bought a bag of hazelnut blend coffee to have at home for the weekends, and I have never had a coffee with so much flavor in my life! I will always be a supporter of O’Henrys! However, sometimes I am not in the Homewood/MountainBrook area. But… There is a coffee shop south of Birmingham in a little town called Chelsea. It is called Ground Up coffee, and it is located in Snider’s pharmacy. They have O’Henry’s coffee distributed to them, and that is what they use! So if you’re south of Birmingham and you love O’Henry’s as much as I do, give Ground Up a try! O’Henry’s also has some of the best baked goods on the planet. It is everything you could want out of your neighborhood coffee shop! Please support this place :)

I travel too much. I also need coffee. This week I was staying in Homewood and spent a lot of time eating and drinking in the area. O’Henry seems to be a quite popular spot with people camped out reading, working, having meetings, and in one case, I think a job interview. All the healthy activities of a popular coffee shop. The Americano I had was fine and was the kick I was looking for. The service here is atrocious. I can’t really recall the last time someone shoved my change back in my hand. How about the placing of my drink on the counter but not letting me know it was ready and/or that it was mine? No welcome greeting. No thanks. No goodbye. Loved it. Nothing like getting attitude from coffee shop people in Alabama. Grow up. Oh, guess where I went the next day? Octane down the street. They are friendly.

A coffee shop that isn’t *$ is a good thing. Popped in for a large Hazelnut drip and a morning glory muffin. Sat there for a bit with their Internet while my muffin slowly disappeared. Good stuff.

O’Henry’s in Homewood’s pleasant little downtown serves good, robust coffee with a decent selection of accompaniments. My beverage of choice is almost always a straight hot cup of neat coffee – no milk, no foam, no sugar. Places that serve espresso-based drinks sometimes don’t pay enough attention to the sad, boring pot of brewed coffee sitting down the counter. Not O’Henry’s: there was a good and detailed explanation of my medium and dark roast choices, my dark roast was served in a proper, thick-walled ceramic cup, and it was exactly what a cup of coffee should be. My poor overworked Android phone was looking for its own shot of energy, but none of the available seats had outlets. No wifi password posted visibly, but I will confess my enjoyment of the coffee and banana cake rendered me too lazy to step up to the counter and ask. The banana cake was a little disappointing in that the banana flavor was milder than I would have liked. It tasted more like a mild carrot cake. Even so, I enjoyed it as a nice companion to my strong cup of black coffee. Prices were reasonable and the service attentive.
