So service was fantastic all the people who worked here were so sweet but the food is awful. Imagine cheese from a can and a taco burger. Is that real? Taco burgers… I will give it that it is cheap as hell.

The food they serve in my opinion is better than Taco Bell. A decent portions for under ten dollar. My meal came with rice, pinto beans and chips but you’ll have to pay for a small container of salsa which is under a dollar. Service here is fast and employees had a positive attitude.

I was very disappointed when I came here. My burrito was wrapped in a plastic and tasted *almost* as good as a frozen meal from the grocery store. The salsa was definitely from a can from sam’s club or something like that, and it wasn’t cheap enough to be worth it. There aren’t many options to eat anything fresh, or even good. It’s worse than Taco Bell. Not worth it.

My one true love. Takes me back to my college days in Tuscaloosa. The extra hot beef burrito is my favorite, with a side of messe nachos. Taco Casa for life!

I only rate 3 – 5 stars. Why? Because I really believe Unilocal can crush businesses. If I come across a place that has 2 – 3 stars… ehhhh PASS. Very Very VERY fast foody. Quality of Service — The guy behind the register looked like he wanted to put his face inside the can of beans. I tried to get a little personality out of him but that was not happening. Quality of food — Take a look at my photo. The burrito was wrapped in plastic. But, I will say this, my chicken taco was super good for $ 1. OVERALL — I would rather eat at Taco Bell. –_–

Oh Taco Casa, how I adore you. The food is always hot, fresh, and delicious. Their enchilada is spicy and saucy. The staff is always friendly and helpful. I’ve never had a bad experience here.

Second time I have been here… Food is quick and really good. Way better than Taco Bell, but not as good as other taco joints I have eaten here in the ‘ham! Prices are fair and service was great! DTD

I’ve had this place a couple of time, and neither time came anywhere near disappointing. Just the simple chicken tacos are super tasty. Great prices, amazing staff attitudes, very clean. Fast, convenient, and seemingly far more fresh than Taco Bell across the street. They even gave me some sweet, tasty sopapilla. I will be back here many times in place of Taco Bell, and probably even some other Latin places around the area.

Oh, Taco Casa, I miss having you weekly in my college days down in Tuscaloosa. I’m ashamed to admit I was a late convert to Taco Casa. The food looks a little unappetizing, it’s true, but the food is so tasty. It’s the ultimate comfort food, in my opinion. My favorite is the combo with an enchilada(topped with the sauce of your choice and melty cheese), refried beans, rice, and a sancho(basically a meat, cheese, lettuce, and sauce burrito). Their sweet tea is usually pretty good as well, so that’s what I normally get to eat. I always, always get the hot chicken instead of beef, because it isn’t as heartburn inducing. Now that I live about 20 miles from this location, I don’t go as much, but I’m telling you, if you’re ever in the area, give this place a shot! The location is clean, the people are friendly, and the food is as good as it is in T-town. Love it!

If I participated in check-ins, Lord knows how many I’d have here. If you haven’t lived in Tuscaloosa, you might not«get» T. Casa. It’s an acquired taste, IMHO. The first time the sauce tastes a little too vinegary. The second time it may taste better, maybe not. The third time is where the receptors firmly take hold and you’re a hopeless addict for life. If not, well I just feel bad for you. My go-to’s are beef-and-bean burrito, chicken taco with crunchy shell, Messe Naco, and maybe a Taco Burger, all extra hot. The staff here are incredibly friendly, have worked there a long time, and take pride in their jobs.

Great fast food taco joint! Wish we could get one on the other side of town. The chilli burrito was great. Must give them a try if you are close.

This place is amazing. From the staff to the food to the nostalgia. Mario and«Momma» have always made for a wonderful experience. It’s like going into a mom and pop diner when the employees know you, great you, and are always congenial. The food? Oh goodness. Not to sound like the commercial I heard whilst living in Tuscaloosa(I’ll get to that later), but grade A beef mixed with mild, hot, or extra hot sauce, grated Wisconsin cheddar, fresh tomatoes, crisply shredded lettuce, warm tortillas… The food is decadent to my tastebuds. It’s always a treat when we go to Taco Casa. The chimalupa(taco salad) is to die for. Enchiladas are made with nacho cheese to make it «Americanized» to a variety of palates. Eat the tacos fast: a) they’re delicious, b) they’ll go soggy after a short while… Which means orders are made fresh to order. The beef burritos are wonderful to eat straight from the fridge. Yum! Now to Tuscaloosa ties: you can hardly find a Tuscaloosa native(or UA student) who hasn’t fell victim to the Taco Casa addiction. This store is the lone standing one since 280 closed, even though there are multiple locations in Tuscaloosa, and this one is a gem hidden a little off the beaten path of Lakeshore. But once found and enjoyed, it’s something you’ll relish time and time again. Franchise founded in 1974 if that says anything about its quality and longevity. I Taco Casa!!!

Minimal wait to order. Freshly assembled in a prompt fashion. Better than typical fast food Mexican chain, at least those in the area. Only real complaint is no Cinco De Mayo specials or even acknowledge that it was today. Found that to be odd.

This is as good as fast food gets. Those who are giving low ratings must have expected white tablecloths? Food is always fresh and delicious. It is the best value for your dollar in Birmingham. Oh, yeah. There’s also the crushed ice in the drinks. Sweet tea or a Mountain Dew over the ice… Yum!

Being from Virginia and having never eaten at this place, I was slightly hesitant. I am glad I stopped the service was awesome and the food is worth the bang for the buck!

As a local chain, Taco Casa evokes memories from college and through my early adulthood. An Extra Hot Beef/Bean burrito and their amazing sweet tea are the perfect lunch component. If I were dining in, I would add some beefy nachos to my meal. The staff is super friendly, accommodating and incredibly helpful. The taste is different than traditional Mexican fast food, and the«heat» is built in to the meats(mild hot and extra hot). The quality of ingredients is far superior to what you will find at other chains.

If your car breaks in front of the place, you are starving, it’s heavy raining and thunderstorming, and you can’t manage in any way to reach the Japanese place in front… then get the soft chicken tacos… and nothing else! Sorry I didn’t upload any picture, food was so bad that my phone blue-screened after taking the pictures!
