Holy cow! This place is great! Their Bengal coffee is a must try. I liked it hot, but my friend prefers it cold. Their smoothies are excellent too. Great atmosphere as well.

This is as good as it gets for a coffee shop. Can’t recommend for meeting up with someone, hanging out, studying, or just for the coffee. I got the iced Persian, and it was fantastic. There’s more than enough seating, including a raised lounge area with couches and outside seating as well. Several seats near wall outlets and they even have a couple of extension cords too which is nice. Bathrooms are down a separate hallway, but close. My only complaint is that the wifi constantly drops my computer. I can always get back on it, but it’s just annoying to have to manually reconnect to the network every 15 minutes or so. Hopefully they fix that soon.

Seriously amazing coffee and fantastic atmosphere with plenty of comfy seating and sitting areas for studying. If there were more outlets, I’d give it 5 stars. Short of that, it’s pretty much a perfect coffee shop!

I’ve been here several times since moving to Birmingham in November. Delicious coffee and pastries and it’s a great space to get some work done! It’s very conveniently located and it’s been a perfect spot to meet my husband for coffee or lunch. I’ve not had any of their sandwiches, but he’s enjoyed several, and while it’s not fancy, it’s definitely tasty. I definitely recommend stopping by if you’re in the area.

I come here about 3 times a week, if not more. It’s the least pretentious coffee shop I’ve ever been to, and still has a unique vibe. Everyone here is so friendly and does their best to give you a great experience. And then the food… mmm. If you’re a heavy meat eater, this may not be the place for you. But I’m addicted to their tomatoe basil soup. It’s the best I’ve ever had. They also serve breakfast all day so to switch it up I sometimes get the breakfast sandwich or the cheese grits. Everything is super tasty! They make their mocha with dark chocolate, so it’s unique in my opinion. It’s another thing I’m addicted to. They have lattes named after cats and are so delicious. You can get any latte as a cold drink, too, which is especially nice on a hot day. Overall it’s a cute, fun, unique spot for coffee and lunch/brunch, so just go.

Great space. Could lounge here all day. Was disappointed they only offered crepes on weekends(was main reason I came here). Staff was great, coffee was perfect! After first sip I was like… yesssssss! I can see this becoming a regular stop on my trips down to Bham.

Realy neat coffee house that offered great coffee, great location, and snacks for the kids. Got served fast and got the kids special hot chocolates. The location is very interesting and we wished we had time to explore the surronding shops that The Red Cat finds as neighbors

I freaking love Red Cat. Parking is convenient, atmosphere is cozy, and white girl drinks(a.k.a., frappes and specialty lattes) are spot-on in my book: Very rich. You can taste ingredient quality. Breakfast and lunch are pretty good. I eat almost every time I come. My main issue with Red Cat is that they aren’t open as late as I would like, and sometimes the free Wi-Fi can be sketchy. Red Cat can also be pretty crowded, but that’s not their fault. It’s a spacious place. They’re just popular!

This coffee shop also doubles as a music venue. I really recommend their specialty coffee, Bengal, which is a dark chocolate caramel blend;bit’s absolutely fantastic. Although we didn’t try their pastries, they looked really good and they had a lot of variety. It definitely lives up to its reputation. The only complaint(s) I have is that you have to go into the connecting building to get to the bathroom and it’s like finding a needle in a haystack(& personally I think they should have cats roaming around but that’s just me). So just don’t have to use the bathroom while you’re here and you’ll leave happy.

Expect great coffee and good food. The only time I come here is Saturday morning before pepper Place Market but, I plan on making this something that happens more often. To have this in Birmingham is awesome and it is one of the places that if I want to give someone from out of town a truly authentic Birmingham experience I bring them here. The coffee: they typically have 3 daily brews available. A medium, dark, and decaf their selection of espressos and cappuccinos are some of the best I have found offered in Birmingham. If you normally drink coffee you won’t be disappointed however, I encourage trying one of their cappuccinos or espressos. It has never disappointed mean when I have tried something new coffee wise The food: they have an arrangement of goodies made locally. I’m not sure if they make it in house or someone local makes them however, the quality is great and the cookies are ginormous! This place is known for their crepes unfortunately, I haven’t had the privilege of trying that yet but I’m planning on making that statement change in the near future :-) I have tried the oatmeal cookie and the chocolate chunks and I have to say this is the place to indulge on a cookie craving. My stomach agrees;) The customer service: friendly but a little slow. I have not been here anytime except for Saturday and usually wait in line for a while. They do have a lot of people come in that morning but I think they could have a better system for ordering to make the line move a little quicker. The shortest wait time that I have had has been 10 minutes. When I get my coffee and occasional goodies that always makes it worth the wait. The spot: I absolutely love the location and inside of this place. It is so big for a city coffee shop, warm atmosphere, and tons of seating. Truly a bham gem!

Every time I come to Birmingham, I have to come here! It’s a must otherwise my trip is incomplete! I think one time I came here and they were closed on a Sunday, so from then on, I plan accordingly. I also saw that they close early! But how? there’s alcohol here! Blue moon to be exact! I love blue moon. Great minds enjoy their beer alike! I always order their vanilla latte and look forward to their pretty little design in the cup! that’s always a nice surprise! I see that they have spanakopita! If I had not had lunch, then I would have totally tried it! Not a lot of places have that! I can’t wait to come back to this place again! I wish there was one in Atlanta! They have board games too. I saw Scrabble! Also, the cashier was so nice to me. She said i had nice eye brows lol

Saturday mornings during Farmers’ Market season are busy, but that shouldn’t come as a surprise. Service was on the slow side, crêpes that should’ve been melty warm were cool to chilly, and a much needed knife wasn’t included in our utensil bundle. Coffee was bland, too. Still, I’ll be back because I really want to believe y’all can do better.

This was the perfect place to stop in for a snack and to catch up on some reading! The atmosphere was super laid back and very creatively decorated. I especially loved the little shelf of books, in case I hadn’t brought my own! I got a piece of spanakopita and it was delicious. The staff was super nice too.

Red Cat Café is a comfortable place to have coffee and/or lunch, close to Pepper Place. It has a laid back atmosphere and is attractively decorated. They do serve beer and other items, perhaps for later-night people… I easily found a table to work with my laptop, and there were sufficient number of outlets for me to plug into. It was easier to find a place to sit than at O’Henry’s. It is a little less spacious than Urban Standard. I ordered their decaf coffee and was pleased. it took about 5 minutes for them to do the french press thing. For lunch, I had spanakopita, which was tasty. It came with a small side of hummus and a few sliced strawberries. A decently-sized portion at lunch prices. There is music playing but it is not excessively loud, and I was able to converse with a friend. I recommend this coffee place.

During our visit to the area, we needed a place to chill for a bit one afternoon and didn’t feel like trekking out to our hotel. I looked for coffeeshops and stumbled on Red Cat. What a great find! Housed in a historic building(in a historic district) this was a great local coffeeshop. Our coffees(one regular, one foofy latte) were both excellent and my husband decided to do their bread pudding as well. I only managed to snag a single bite before the plate was clean and he was practically licking it clean. Great vibe and a really nice place to read, chat, or just chill out for a bit!

I love Red Cat. In fact, I’m sitting here contemplating the 20 minute drive for an Abyssinian before they close at 2 today. I’ve also had their crepes, which are fluffy and very tasty. My husband and I got the one with blackberries, walnuts and marscapone last weekend. If you go on a weekend that the Pepper Place Market is on, be prepared to stand in line for a while. It’s worth the wait every time!

Currently sitting in the Red Cat, and it’s such a nice atmosphere. Quiet oldies are playing in the background, and this caramel pecan latte is fabulous. It’s one of those drinks that would be way too sweet if you got it from Starbucks, but you can actually enjoy the flavor of coffee in this one. There are shelves with board games and plenty of power outlets if work needs to be done(currently what I’m doing here). Not much more to ask for in a coffee shop. Love the location at Pepper Place. It’s one of my favorite little blocks of Birmingham. Definitely worth a visit!
