My review is solely for park; Visitor center was closed. The park, looking at quick glance, doesn’t look very large. But when you start to walk around and through it, it’s actually big. It was nothing spectacular to look at, just your average small town country setting like park. But being that it had snowed, it was really nice and quaint. I’m really not hard to please, everything makes me go «Awwww» & «Weeee» Lol. There’s a large recreation area to play games(which one soccer game was being held — cold and all gotta love the enthusiasm of the lovers & die hard athletes of the sport). A play area for the kids, exercise machines in another area, a large pond of water that was half frozen when we went, accessible restrooms that surprisingly were open, swimming pool that was obviously closed for the winter, supposedly a dog park, but I didn’t see it or couldn’t find it — maybe we weren’t really looking too hard? And RV parking area. I thought it was such a nice, scenic and cute park. Too bad the Visitor center was closed, would’ve loved to see the souvenirs for sale. And sorry to hear about the bad experience from one reviewer — hopefully that won’t happen again. We walked to it, so no issues other than we were freezing and I’d do it allover again.

RUDESTTOWNREPRESENTATIVEEVER. I’ll never spend another dime in this town due to a rude older gentleman(term used loosely) claiming to be with the Chamber of Commerce. My husband and I were pulling our small travel trailer and were planning to stop in town for breakfast, fuel, and considerable shopping for camping provisions. It was a Weds at 10am and an EMPTY park area off the beaten path had several empty roads where we were parallel parking(alongside 2 other large tractor trailers). There was an area several streets away that provided rv parking but I had a broken ankle and the walk was too far. While parking, this man drove by and laid on his horn. for a long time! Then he started yelling that we had to park in a different area. I asked who he was and he replied, «I’m with the Chamber of Commerce and I’m calling the police right now if you don’t move.» Not on the tractor trailers also parked similarly, just us! There was absolutely no reason to be so offensive and threatening to a town visitor… no ball games were about to start, there were no signs prohibiting this type of parking, etc. He was just incredibly aggressive with no provocation. My guess is he spearheaded the«RV Parking» expenditure and was damn well going to make sure it was used. We advised him we would leave and not spend a dime in his town. We never will again and I will share this dreadful experience with friends and family. Shame on you for allowing this man to represent your town.

«Wow!» Is the best word I can find for the customer service we received this Labor Day weekend. I have visited Bishop frequently throughout my life but only in passing most times. I was curious about what else there was to do around there. My husband and I went to the office right at closing time and thought we had missed our chance to get some information on things to do in the area. Instead we were greeted and welcomed in by a friendly man named Joe. He asked us what we were looking for and gave us far more information than I could have ever anticipated. He gave the best customer service I have received in a long time. Experienced workers are an asset; too bad most companies don’t see it that way. Stop here before doing anything and visit their website too. We found numerous things to do with our kids and many are low or no cost. Happy Bishoping!
