I’ve know about Terra Nomad for a while but it is not on the course of my daily commute. Today I was ahead of schedule and decided to swing by… and I’m glad that I did. The Lemon Iced Blueberry Scone is the best scone I’ve ever had. I will be back to try more of their fresh, made in-house pastries and quiche. Coffee is good too!

This is the place I was most excited about when I visited Bismarck this past weekend. Ended up going twice and wasn’t disappointed. First day I had a lavender latte which was delicious, perfectly sweetened. Second time I had the Miel latte and a blueberry scone. The scone won me over, I’m not really big on pastries but this one was fantastic. They have an assortment of other drinks and food, including lunch items. The décor is adorable and is ready for your IG shots :) I knocked out a star only because they keep the place way too warm

Delicious DELICIOUS food! The best scones within 500 miles. Adventurous dishes using local produce and lots of vegetarian options — so welcome here in meat and potatoes Bismarck. I wish it wasn’t quite so expensive or I’d come in more often.

Have to totally agree with Jeremy’s assessment of TN. In all fairness, I didn’t try any food, just coffee, but the noisy, hipster vibe was definitely not what I was looking for when trying to relax with a morning cup of coffee. If I’m looking for an overpriced cup of coffee with a mellow atmosphere, I’ll go to Starbucks next time!

Definitely one of my favorite coffee places. This place gives off a very relaxing vibe. The decorations may seem a bit random, but I think it really adds to the chill atmosphere. The baristas are super nice and friendly. Whenever I needed something, I just looked up and the staff checked up on me immediately. The pastries look really good and they taste even better. If you are like me and for some reason always having trouble deciding between tea or a cappuccino, get both =). The environment is super clean and the free Wi-Fi is a plus. If you are looking for a quiet place to spend the afternoon studying with coffee, then look no further.

Honestly one of the best places to eat in Bismarck. I come here almost everyday for lunch as its one of the only farm to table healthy options in the area. Food tastes amazing and since they change their menu everyday it’s always a nice surprise to see what they will do next. The people here are great and I love the atmosphere. You can even do a bit of shopping while you wait for your food. Definitely worth the visit.

Terra Nomad not only has a great café but AMAZING lunches. I have tried pretty much everything and I have never been disappointed. My personal favorites are their vanilla latte, wraps, and soups. If you are in the area you have to check this place out! Not to mention the staff is super friendly(:

I would have to say I was excited to try Terra Nomad but honestly was disappointed on today’s visit. The attitude in this place is incredible, it’s the most pretentious attitude I have ever seen, the people working are so unfriendly, if they are going for poor customer service they have managed to do so. The inside of the shop is crying for some color, it’s so cold and unwelcoming. It almost looks they are having a identity crisis because nothing makes sense on the layout. I ordered a ginger molasses cookie and it was ok, nothing spectacular about it. Definitely was over baked. The espresso was bitter and overall a let down, it’s this intense citrus flavor that is so off putting I could barely finish it. How long does it honestly take to pull a shot? Having a open kitchen is great but it looks unprofessional for staff to be eating in the kitchen when customers can see this. Do yourself a favor and add some color to this place, improve on the customer service and get a better sign. I definitely will not return or recommend this place to others.

At first glance terra nomad seems like a great find, though when you’re in the space for any length of time it becomes less welcoming and more stark and cold. The barista was rude and seemed bored and bothered to be there. My coffee was good, though for a lavender latte, it tasted less like lavender and more like a plain latte. I’d give it a second try, but with low expectations.

My turn, I love to write positive and happy reviews so hold onto your seats! I came by here yesterday during my big day in town, down from the northern prairies. I came here specifically to check them out and get some spiritual awakening and good coffee as well. What I mean is, that places like this are a hidden gem and while yes the coffee and pastries and food are really delicious and beautifully made — what is most important in a place like this is the spirit in which it is designed and run. I felt inspired and uplifted and — well, where there is art, more art can be created. I have been to similar coffee places around the west and even Winnipeg, and while you are paying a little more for the coffee, what you are getting is an artistic spirit — and I love to support and encourage creative spaces. Thank you — Update: 3÷14÷16 visit, still awesome and doing well. Like the T Rex vinyl playing. Good quality food and supporting the local fresh produce/farming community are very awesome and admirable practices.

This place has a lot of potential, and I hope they make the most of it. The physical space is great. It has a modern look you’d find in any major city. They just need to put some more thought into the actual coffee itself. If you are looking for an espresso-based drink, they do that pretty well. But if you want a high quality black coffee, this isn’t the place for that yet. A simple V60 pour over option would be a great addition(that isn’t capital-costly, nor massively time-consuming). I really hope that they start taking the coffee seriously, as I’d love to spend more time there when in town!

Yummy!!! We are visiting the area. So good. We came yesterday for lunch and back for breakfast! The scones, yogurt homemade granola and the crostata is out of this world!

I hate when I get my hopes up when it comes to dining, drinks, or coffee. The other day I stopped in to this place and was blown away by the smell and look of the food, the excellent breve latte and the great conversation with the barista; so much that I thought I had found my new writing den. Fast forward to today. I made it a point to come downtown for another great breve; talk about a disappointment. The coffee was fine, thanks for asking, but the server treated me with disdain. I ordered the exact same thing, a quad breve latte to go. He looked at me and said, «we don’t do breves here, we are into more traditional.» I was a bit taken aback as a breve latte is certainly not some neo-hipster drink. Next there was the issue of a quad — they didn’t do those. And the coup de gras was the price. $ 8. The owner(I think?) stepped in at that point and not only remembered me coming in but what I ordered as well, and got it all corrected. So why the write up? Because I have grown tired of condescending attitudes from servers. If I am in your establishment and am giving you my money, I don’t want my backside kissed and I don’t expect perfection, but I do want a modicum of respect. I gave this three stars for three reasons. First, I’d get the barista who made my order on Friday in front of the customers. He was polite, engaging, and was a big part of my first experience(at the same time put Glasses and backward-hat wearing bad attitude guy in the back). Second, great coffee. And third, the food looks great and my friend talked well of the chef/owner so I owe her(and the potential of the place) to not hate it just because one employee was horrible. In many ways servers ARE the establishment though.

Each time I go back to this place, I’m a little less impressed. The service really isn’t that good. In fact, it’s bad – really terribly slow. They don’t offer an iced option. The espresso really just isn’t good. It’s lemony and acidic, and it lacks the depth of flavor of good espresso. There still is not a sign out front indicating what this space is. The one thing that it has going for it is that the pastry chef is obviously talented. The food items taste and look good. Every time someone asks me for a recommendation though, I recommend Dunn Bros. over this place.

As the new place it’s nice. The hot chocolate was good. They don’t serve tea yet. My buddies said the coffee was good

Terra Nomad is phenomenal. Finally, Bismarck has a cool hip coffee place where locals can come in and feel young. Finally! I talked with the store owner, Chris, and he is a cool guy let me tell ya, and he told me everything I need to know about the place, from New York brand fashion to the coffee bean itself. I ordered a macchiato and let me tell ya, it’s a damn real macchiato. It was incredible. Not that sugar filled Starbucks crap, it’s was real intense drink and that’s what it should be. So if you want to feel young again and you want to drink real coffee and eat amazing fresh pastries, GO to Terra Nomad. Also, the photographer and graphic designer nailed it. I’ll be back again soon.

Don’t drive right by this nondescript place with a very minimalist look! This coffee shop is a nice addition to Bismarck, and a welcome change to many of the coffee chains. To give this place the benefit of the doubt, t is only the second day open. Their beverage choices are limited; the only latte flavor is vanilla. Don’t ask for nondairy choices and please don’t ask for iced! That being said, this was the smoothest, least bitter coffee I’ve drunk in Bismarck. I look forward to a visit in the future when they’ve worked out some of the kinks. Big city coffee joint in Bismarck.

Terra Nomad brings some fresh character to Bismarck. The atmosphere is great, food is excellent, and the coffee the best in town. Skip the drive-thru elsewhere and enjoy the coffee experience here.

Amazing coffee! Probably the best in Bismarck now. Third-wave coffee shop using Four Barrel Coffee from San Francisco. Also has great food from a classically-trained chef. This is a «must-visit» for any serious coffee or food lover!
