This place is great! They have friendly staff and tasty treats. When I lived in the area, I used to come here with my dad somewhat frequently. He loves their plain cake donuts. I mean, he REALLY loves them. But its not just their donuts that are good, I haven’t had anything bad from here. Its become somewhat of a tradition now when I am home at Christmas time, that my Dad goes and picks up some donuts and treats early in the morning on the weekend, and my family shares them together. My dad just told me today, that after Saturday this bakery will be closing… which appears to be correct per their Facebook pages. This makes me quite sad. I will always have fond memories of this place.

We have stopped here many a times but my experience this weekend prompted a review. Service was quick. I presumed the customer ahead of me was being helped as they were talking to an employee and then it turns out that they needed rung up by someone else(they were ordering a cake). I picked out a handful of items for my dad since I was headed to their house and then a few items to take home to my husband. I was pretty quick. I’ve always been helped by relatively young people so their customer service skills are a tad rough around the edges. The cinnamon rolls are really good and last to the next day. The cannolis’ are also very good. Not the best pastries in the area but a very convenient stop, big selection of items. Certainly better than the other bakery in black diamond. They have really good cold milk out of the cooler :) I don’t know that I would order a large/important cake here. There was a woman behind me in line this weekend that was picking up a wedding cake– parking situation can get crowded quickly.

Hands down the best pastries I’ve ever tasted. If you haven’t already, stopping by and trying one of there breakfast tortillas is a MUST!

They have the BEST cinnamon rolls! I like the cream cheese frosting, although the maple is a close second. I love this little bakery, everything I have tried is good. I also recommend the party bread – yum! We had a sugar free cake made for grandma and it was excellent. Selection varies a little from day to day. Always friendly and nice.

We gave it a try after repeated disappointments at the«other» Black Diamond Bakery. They have a sign letting you know that they use real butter — I can promise you from the taste — they do! Their chocolate chip cookies were a little flat. Not sure if they put the cookies on hot cookie sheets or what — but they were flat instead of fat and chewy. Still tasted good. The cinnamon rolls… verrrry good. Terrific cream cheese icing. Fluffy, scrumptious, fabulous. They had some ham and cheese rolls in the case which didn’t look bad, but I have to admit I kind of wondered — shouldn’t ham be refrigerated??? But, I didn’t try it and I didn’t ask. I’d definitely recommend them as THE bakery to visit in the area.

Love love love the butter bread and pastries. Small bakery right off of 169 limited parking but never seems to be a problem. Great variety of baked goods. Love the seasonal breads and the almond pastries are the best.

Much better cake than black diamond bakery, hands-down. Much better service than black diamond bakery, and much more unique. However, they have recently had some issues with their cake decorator(health issues) and they are not sure if he will be doing wedding cakes this year. I have been waiting to find out for over 6 months and keep getting told to call back in a few months to get an update. I finally had to bail and find someone else to do my cake for my big day.

So my my sweet tooth has brought me in again! If you enjoy the mom&pop shops you’ll be right at home. Very friendly staff and everything I’ve tried has been delicious. They do have fresh baked breads and a few other items not twirling in sugar. Cannoli time today. FYI east coasters, not made with ricotta cheese. The mocha cannoli is incredible. Textures on point :-)

I thoroughly enjoyed a scrumptious cheese danish and pineapple upside down cake from CJ’s Bakery. I also discovered that Pat and Jim are kind generous people that care about their community. I’m looking forward to the next time I get to stop in and pick up more delicious treats!

I had seen this place many times on my way to work but hadn’t heard much about them. I had, however, heard about the Black Diamond Bakery and had tried them on a few occassions. I was not very impressed by the BDB so I decided to try CJ’s. I’m so glad I did! First of all, the pastries were way better and they had more to choose from. Secondly, the prices are better too! That’s a win-win situation in my book!

Great employee– Pat– a great lady and the reason why the family stops by every week. And the cookies, pastries, etc., are good too!

We got our Wedding cake from Cj’s and we still have people raving about our cake. We got the marble cake with raspberry and cream cheese filling. They arrived at the wedding right on schedule and it was decorated perfectly. The only bad thing is that there is only one person who deals with cake orders and although she is nice, we had to wait around for her.

If your into bran muffins your in the right place. But stay away from the decorated cookies as they are overpriced and stale

I used to live in Black Diamond next to the Bakery and Restaurant, which my roomate and I would go out of our way to come to CJ’s bakery and get the jalepeno rolls over going to the Restaurant. These things are delicious! One year she bought a bread basket with rolls for thanksgiving and even the basket was made out of bread! The people that work here are so helpful and friendly with all of your questions. Plus they make coffee which is a plus! If you are having a party, they also have some GREAT party platters for a great price and I hear they cater for weddings and such!

This place looks a lot better on the outside. Sort of down-home and homemade goodness. I’d driven past it a lot of times and finally stopped in. It was crowded with food and bagged bread and little containers of misc. sauce(I think it was marinara?) I wanted some fancy donuts and cookies for my kid and they had a lot of fancy cookies, most of them very small and definitely«home-made» looking. And I don’t mean in a good way. The prices were outrageous. On the level of an artisan bakery in Seattle, but I figured it was Black Diamond, there aren’t a lot of bakeries outside of Seattle and it was worth it not to get back in my car. I bought a cream puff which my daughter couldn’t bite into because it was so hard. A cannoli for myself, with confectioner’s sugar and shortening filling. I was expecting ricotta, silly me. It was the kind that comes in a package and you fill it yourself. Two cookies, which were stale. And a cupcake. When I got it home, the icing fell off it and I had to push it back on. I spent seventeen dollars, and on my way out I noticed the packaged breads were over six dollars a piece. I don’t think I’ll be back. This was seriously spendy and subpar. I felt like I’d been taken advantage of.

The bakery is a bit of a hodge podge, but the breads and treats are really quite good. I’m a fan of their dark NY rye bread– toasted with butter and honey brings back childhood memories. They also have some really nice local honey and jams. Next time I am there I will pick some up! I’m glad we discovered this place, a warm cinnamon roll before hitting the BD coal mine single track on a fall day = major win.

I was craving a little something sweet. I found the right place. I tried a Thumbdrop cookie filled with rich chocolate. I also tried a Russian Tea Cake. Both were tasty. This is a actual bakery, they make fresh baked goods Tues — Sat, on site. Their crusty fresh baked breads look great, next time. I was told they make cakes for all occasions, including your wedding. This bakery has been around for over 15 yrs, family owned. Give them a try; I will be going back for the crusty breads!

We chose CJ’s for our wedding cake after ordering a sample from them. The banana cake sample was soooo goood we chose them just for their banana cake with strawberry filling. We ordered a three tiered cake with a simple branch design. The finished product was beautiful and exactly what I wanted. The chocolate portion of the cake was moist and delicious however the banana part was a little dry so I had to doc 1 star. Otherwise a good experience, I’d recommend them.

I hate this place — my niece always insists upon getting special occasion cakes from here and I’m always the lucky one to pick them up. Staff is always rude and you have to beg to be helped. Twice I waited over 10 minutes to be helped because they only have 1 person working and they were taking a cake order. Then a «regular» came in and they stopped what they were doing to help them — «HELLO — over here! I want to pick up a dry, poorly decorated caked and give you $ 60» But no, they have to help the«regular» who wants one cookie. Have tried a few other bakery items and they to were dry and stale.
