Excellent coffee but exceedingly rude customer service. My husband enjoyed his coffee a lot and we bought a pound of beans to go, but my chai tea was so spicy that it burned my tongue to drink it. I threw it away after 3 sips. I wanted to ask for another drink, but the young woman taking orders was extremely rude and I didn’t want to experience her attitude again. We observed that if you weren’t what appeared to be a local, you got her sharp attitude. We won’t be going back!

You get four stars because your coffee is AMAZING. The girl behind the counter that helped me on June 11th was however not amazing. I purchased over $ 50 worth of coffee that day. Here’s the deal; she was very focused and task oriented but she was also not friendly(it was not busy). My sister was bringing me there for the first time and she was complimenting the coffee. The barista basically looked at her as if saying«I don’t give a sh$$» about your stupid story. Also when my coffee was ready being ground, she quietly told me it was ready and as I left she never said thank you. I however did say thank you. I don’t spend $ 50 on coffee normally. I’m on vacation. I don’t appreciate it when you have barista’s behind the counter that are so TASK oriented they don’t recognize the customer and treat them in a friendly happy manner. My advise to you young lady, is to smile a bit and say thank you to your customers. We essentially pay you by purchasing your coffee.

We LOVE Dynamite Coffee! It is one of the best roasters up in these here mountains. The coffee is full bodied and so rich in flavor. This cute little place is located in an old house that has been transformed into a cozy, light filled coffee indulging joint. They not only make you a delicious cup of whatever you’re addicted to but they also sell their coffee by the pound and will grind it for you if you choose. There was a meager selection of baked goods and fresh fruit for snacking. Service was cordial but not overly friendly or welcoming. We are and will remain loyal Dynamite coffee fans!

This has definitively the best coffee in all of western North Carolina followed by counter culture. Their baristas are kind, sweet, and knowledgeable, and the café has a very friendly vibe to it. I go there everyday. They have a record player and plenty of vinyl, and it enjoys a quieter pace than the dripolator because of its location on the outskirts of town. I cannot recommend it enough!

Pure unbridled coffee love for and in this place. I’ve been in the store twice, kinda aimlessly looking for a cup and a pound of beans and I always end up getting exactly what I never knew I wanted. People are kind, welcoming, and seriously knowledgeable about the whole process from brew to origin. I went in last week and picked up a pound of Yirgacheffe that is blowing my mind right this moment. For reference I regularly home roast and drink a lot of craft coffee from California– like Verve in Santa Cruz. Honestly I put Dynamite Coffee on the same level as a place like Verve. Honestly.

Really good mocha! And they made it with decaf just like I wanted — love it. Great customer service and neat environment. My husband liked it too. And the price was fairly reasonable for what you get. I bet they could make whatever you want.

Wonderful coffee shop with a laid back relaxed vibe. Not only is the coffee delicious, but they have a big selection of vinyl albums you can peruse and play, everything from Frank Sinatra to The Rolling Stones. But you come here for coffee right, so here were our picks: Chai Tea — pretty good, especially when you use the natural sweetener Drip of the Day — the special roast of that day, «wonderful» exclaimed my wife. Vanilla Latte with shot Expresso– a huge hit with my son. Vanilla Steamer — a hit with my youngest. Hot Chocolate — ah, maybe should stick with coffee. Really fun atmosphere, nice friendly service. However, you don’t have to be in need of a caffeine fix to go here, they have roasted coffees to go and multi-packs for you to try different flavor.

Black Mountain I LOVE You! Why do I want Coffee so much more here in the Scenic Romantic Mountains? I understand CoffeeHouses using ACTION in the Name, though why are most CoffeHouses so subdued these days!!! Caffeine has a Tranquilizing effect on me and as my Doctor says it is a Common(Second Common) reaction to the chemical compound and its effect on part of the Nervous System(he really only said it was the Second Common response, I’m guessing the rest)! This place is as Cool as Black Mountain!!! That is pretty Cool! As Hip as Miles Davis? You do NOT have to ask! That isn’t even fair!

Atmosphere — 7⁄10 — Quaint and quirky with mismatched furniture makes for a fun albeit slightly confusing décor. Still pretty warm with a great variety between tables and plush. Espresso — 8⁄10 — Nice pull. Nice flavor. Could be smoother but still not a bad shot. Coffee — 9⁄10 — Get the clever dropper. GETTHECLEVERDRIPPER! There now I’m yelling. Had the sidamo. Great cup of coffee. Amenities — 5⁄10 — No wifi. None. Huh? Quite surprising in this day to have a coffee shop with no wifi. At least offer it to paying customer. I came here for the coffee but also to get work done. That was difficult without the internet. To be honest had I known that I would have not come here in the first place. If I’m just looking for a cup I’d be here again… To get stuff done, going somewhere else.

Super cool vibe. Freaking phenomenal coffee. Between the cozy inside with a record player and books and comfy couches to the back porch with an amazing view of the mountains, this is the PERFECT coffee spot! Not to mention they have the BEST coffee I’ve ever had in my entire life :)

Weird atmosphere. No music playing, just quit. Did not have a coffee shop feel. However, the coffee was good and the cookie I had.

Oh my gosh. I love Dynamite Coffee. It’s probably the cutest café on the edge of Black Mountain and Swanannoa(probably the only one matching that description, but whatever). I’ve never had a bad coffee drink here and it’s just so convenient! It’s literally situated between my house and workplace as well as two yummy lunch spots(Gateway Eatery and Foothills Butchery), so you can get some grub then grab a coffee on your way out. It’s pretty perfect if you ask me. Also the staff, normally just one person behind the counter, are super nice and funny to chat to. Their beans are some of the best in Western NC, having their coffee situated in many of the local restaurants, so definitely purchase a bag if you’re able because it is totally worth it! My go to: iced or hot, depending on the weather, chai with 2 shots of espresso and almond milk.

I absolutely love this place! I came here all the time when I lived in Black Mountain. The coffee is excellent. The shop has a cute vintage vibe, it’s a relaxed place to chill and enjoy your coffee. There is outdoor seating as well with a view of the mountains. The owners here are great, they are unpretentious and it’s obvious they strive for excellence in all aspects of their business. This is a great place to come if you love good coffee and a relaxed environment.

Oh the sweet smell of coffee! Whilst having a brew at Pisgah Brewing, what did I spy with my little eye? The Dynamite Roasting Co.‘s roasting facility right next door. I’ve been up since 4AM and the Pisgah Pale hit me in the butt like bear tranquilizer. Swoosh, car please take me to the retail store. Yessir, right away. Cool little house with bold graphics — can’t miss it! You feel like you’ve walked into the apartment of the coolest person you know. Laid back, cozy décor with a wall full of LPs and a phonograph(record player for you whippersnappers). Best cappuccino I’ve had in a while — really nice pull with immaculate flavor. Kudos! Love this place!

Delicious coffee, smooth and rich. Many different choices of countries, strength and blend. They roast it themselves nearby. Comfortable setting in old home. Only scones and biscotti to go with the coffee. If they had more choice of pastries it would be an excellent breakfast spot.
