Frosty Parrot

Really enjoyed my visit here. I got cookies and cream and mint chocolate chip flavors, and they were both delicious. There was a huge variety of topping choices– fruits, candies, cereals, sauces and more. The staff was nice and friendly. Overall a good experience!

They’re friendly and helpful. Ambience is chill~~ Not a huge selection for their froyo: blueberry tart, CA tart, cake batter, pomegranate, pink lemonade, cookies and cream, mint and one other flavor I’m spacing on.
Regardless, don’t get the mint. it tastes funky, not like toothpaste. but hmm.
They do have a pretty good range of toppings! My all time fav wherever I go is mochi!
Stuff that stood out to me: chocolate covered almonds, chocolate covered mangoes and a couple other chocolate covered goodies!

Love coming here, always fun new self serve yogurt flavor and all kinds of toppings!

SECOND UPDATE: I originally rated this place 4-​stars. However, seeing as I came back here every day of my conference, it probably deserves full honors. I got totally addicted to the cotton candy flavor, which was heavenly with the watermelon-​strawberry swirl.
It’s a yogurt shop. I’m always glad to find one of these, because I like yogurt. There is not a whole lot to say about them when I do, however. Several of the flavors were pretty good, and the assortment of toppings was good. I was impressed with the variety of chocolate covered fruits. The server let me have four samples without complaint and was glad to tell me about his recommendations, which I appreciated. I might be back before I leave Blacksburg.
UPDATE: I went back a second time and noticed that it’s not all yogurt – some are gelato, and there is also one Italian ice and one sorbet. If you’re watching calories, you’ll want to mind this.

Five stars because this is the best quality frozen yogurt I’ve found to date. It tastes more like ice cream, and the savory-​sweet flavors (caramel pretzel, peanut butter, etc.) are amazing.
I’m not sure of the price per pound, but it’s definitely reasonable and much cheaper than Pink Berry.

Similar to Pink Berry and other yogurt stores, they offer tons of toppings and several yogurt flavors. I was a little disappointed that I wasn’t offered a sample when I walked in but maybe that was because it was being abused. Don’t know. I took a bit of a gamble with the yogurt flavors but it turned out fine.
Recommended.
Tip: Don’t forget the price is based on weight.

It was nice to get a few free samples to find what I’d like and what I wasn’t a big fan of. Turns out I love their simple flavors the best, which is fine; the simple flavors are easiest to pair with some awesome toppings.
We went with some friends from out of town (visiting from Australia) and had a great visit. We all enjoyed poking fun at our friend who put Fruit Loops on his vanilla yogurt and he claimed it was «Just like having breakfast, only better.»
Good times, good workers, good yogurt.

The frosty parrot is a relatively new addition to downtown Blacksburg but it’s made it’s name known very quickly. They have an ever changing list of flavors that includes standards (chocolate, vanilla, or strawberry) and fruity flavors (watermelon, cherry, peach…) and then my favorites (white choc moose!, cake batter). They have every toping imaginable — cereals, candies, fruits, syrup toppings… a whipped cream and sprinkles of all assortments! The staff is great and the owner is as nice as can be and very friendly. This is a must go to for families and anyone looking for great frozen yogurt.
Fun Fact: My friends got engaged here and they happily opened early on a Saturday and let him change all their signs. It was super cute and they gave us free ice cream that day!
How it Works: You go in grab a white cup in the back (or sample cups at the checkout), a fill it with as many ice creams as you’d like, top it with whatever, and pay by the weight (not including the cup). They have a great rewards program — each visit counts towards a full cup of free ice cream.

Girls that work here are super friendly.
Not many fat-​free options though most are low fat.
Creative names for yogurt flavors.
Sample cups open to the public for you to take at your discretion.
Flavors are incorrectly labeled though girls behind the counter are overjoyed to come out and get you access to the correct nutritional info.

Delicious creamy froyo!

Prices are a little high, like most ice cream places, but the owners are nice, the ice cream is tasty, and the toppings are fresh.

The owner was awesome and very friendly. Like others have said, he offered free samples and was more than happy to let you taste several flavors. He has actually made the extra effort to come up with really cool flavors with his vendors so you’d be surprised at what they have available.
I feel a little weird giving a what seems like a yogurt for kids place 5-​stars, but it runs on one of my favorite business models: keep it simple, keep it affordable, and make sure it’s good.

I went in and asked for a sample cup and was told that they don’t do samples. When you offer multiple frozen yogurts that are always changing it’s impossible to know which one you would like. I would have liked to spend money there, but by not offering samples I’m not willing to bet $ 3 on froyo when I might just toss it in the garbage on the way out the door.

Delicious, and cheaper than other competitors! Not to mention. its self serve so make it your way! Would be a perfect place for kids or adults because the yogurt can be as tame or as extreme as you would like. Flavor selection is expansive for a frozen yogurt place.
