Mish Mish

Yes, this is probably the only art store in the area but it is a COMPLETE art store. You could find everything you need here. And yes, it’s pricey, but most art stores tend to be a bit on the pricey side. I can see how this can be frustrating for students on a budget.
It is conveniently located on Main St. and extremely close to campus which makes it perfect for students.
Customer service was excellent! The guy that was working here went out of his way to help me find what I was looking for and helped me acquire a container so that I could travel on a plane wit my purchase. He was very helpful, very sweet, and very knowledgeable! The young lady that was working there had a bit of an attitude but hopefully that was only a one time thing. If not, my guess is that any reviews complaining about the customer service are probably referring to her.
Regardless, I highly recommend visiting this art store!

If you need some art supplies, Mish Mish would be the place to go. They may be a little pricey, but most art supplies are pricey anyway.

Mish-​Mish is one of the greatest art supply stores anywhere, and I’ve seen my share, having lived in both San Francisco and in art-​saavy Savannah, Georgia. Mish-​Mish is as good as anything anywhere else, and their selection of art and drafting supplies is sublime. Their service is also top-​notch. They even have the Rotring 1928 Limited Edition fountain pen if you’re one of those rare blokes who fancies $ 1,000 writing pens!
I’ve bought some very good compasses and markers here. If I was in Roanoke more often, I would be at Mish-​Mish probably way too much.
