I went in this shop considering buying a pathfinder D&D book. I was with my husband and we went straight to the section where they were shelved. My husband picked up several books and looked at them, put them down and moved away. When I picked up the same books the owner appeared at my side and told me not to look at the books unless I was serious about purchasing, because thumbing through the books too much«ages» them. I asked him if I had handled them in such a way to seem as though I was damaging the books, to which he said that he asks everyone not to handle them. I put the book back and I swear I will never purchase anything from that guy. I sincerely feel like he only treated me this way because I am a woman, and he felt like I would never actually buy anything. If you need to go to a gaming shop, go to game quest in Radford. The owner treats people with respect and he has a better selection, anyway.

As a long time regular of Fun-N-Games, I love not only the fantastic staff, but the excellent stock, regular events, and openly welcoming atmosphere of the store. The new store has plenty of tables for gaming, and a larger selection of comics than before. Anything you need for Magic, 40k, Fantasy, Pathfinder, DnD, Warmachine/Hordes, you can find there or it can be ordered for you. I have been coming to DnD Encounters for over four years and still come back to all the great friends I have made in the store. I highly recommend checking it out. From the expert gamer to the complete beginner, someone is always there to help you out.

Fun — N — Games is like many other gaming shops that I’ve been to in ways both good and bad. They work to fill their space with as much as possible so that their customers will have something to do and somewhere to go to play their games with other people. This is a great feature and I know that the few times I’ve been able to join a game or two I’ve had a really great time. Except. All of the tables and people and chairs and items that people bring makes the space, even this newer larger space, much smaller. Cramped. Less-than-fresh. Claustrophobic. The people who run Fun –N– Games are helpful. They have great stock in the store that rotates relatively regularly(or at least seems to). They’ll take the time to talk you through a purchase or two and generally I have absolutely no complaints on that issue. I just wish the larger store actually felt larger.
