4 years later and I am still pleased with Alice’s work. She is amazing. I took some business pants in to have the inseam reduced(which she said was not possible) but I told her to try her best. These pants look AMAZING on me now! I also have taken two more bridesmaid dresses there and they fit like a T. Taken in one dress size, hemmed and a belt adjusted cost $ 88 with a one week turn around in early August. My best friend had her wedding dress altered here, taken in two sizes and extensive work done because of the pattern and her cost was around $ 250 and looked like perfection! Go here! There is no sign on the outside of the building(the building looks a little run down), but you are in the right place! It’s on the second floor on the left. Accepts cash and checks only.

Alice is wonderful! We have taken just about everything to A & J including swimwear, work pants, volleyball uniforms, formal prom dress, etc. Her work is meticulous with a quick turnaround: a prom dress taken in a whole size and shortened with altered beadwork throughout – only one week, dress pants – one or two days, volleyball uniforms – one or two days. I highly recommend Alice at A & J!!!

Awesome work by Alice and her husband! Thank you! If you don’t mind the outdated but clean interior of this shop, they do great work just like any other fancy couture bridal alteration belle. Some people need to get off their high horse and be realistic. Final price: Bridal gown $ 55 Cocktail dress $ 12 Groom’s pants $ 16 You decide for yourself!

I called A & J based on some reviews I saw on google maps. I am *so* glad I went. All the reviews are about dresses. In our case, we needed a quick fix for a tuxedo. We learned my son was invited to prom very close to the date. Knowing renting *any* tux would cost a small fortune and not wanting a third mortgage on the house, I scoured the clearance racks. I was thrilled to find a jacket and pants for, are you ready? 25 percent of the original cost. I was hoping to get them altered and A & J(Alice) did a super, wonderful job and, did it very quickly. The tux looks like it was never touched. It is of course, a smidge too big, but my son is 17, so I asked her to not to fit it too close. So, rather than spending a $ 100 or more dollars for one prom and having nothing, my son has an excellent tux which he should be able to wear for quite some time. Thank you Alice. You guys are wonderful. p. s. and a word to parents everywhere. Providing your kids with moments like these is invaluable. I have tried to make sure my boys understand options, like finding something that is «not quite your size» on a clearance rack and getting it corrected by a tailor, but somehow that was missed until now. My son was astounded that you could do something like this«so cheaply.» A & J remind us how the world worked when we were kids.
